  1. I don't ever get enough pictures from the games, since I am out of the Grand Forks area. I used to enjoy looking at the pictures in the Herald following a game. PCM, you did a great job last year with the pictures and I was just wondering if you or somebody else would still be able to snap a few shots and post them for us? Help those of us that aren't at the games get a glimpse of the 2004 NATIONAL CHAMPS in action! (Gophers are going to collapse, in case you guys didn't know. I have read the script for this year)
  2. http://www.twincities.com/mld/twincities/sports/6863025.htm This is a good article on Travis. He deserves to the make the team this year. This is the second day in a row the Sioux have been represented in the Twin Cities newspapers sports section. Yesterday they had a picture of Murray and previewed our 2004 championship season in the Star Tribune and today the Pioneer Press. Gopher fans around here must be getting nervous.
  3. I was wondering when they come out with the coaches poll? I teach in the Twin Cities now and was lifting at the high school I work at and ran into Tim Conboy, who plays for St. Cloud (His Dad works at my school) He told me they were getting a really good goalie in this year who might possibly be drafted by his second year. I know that Denver lost one of their good goalies, CC lost key players as well as Mankato. I think that Wisconsin, Duluth and Alaska won't improve much and the gophers will be the team to beat. We should have a good shot, if we have a goalie step up. What does everybody else think? Did I miss something or does this sound about right? Also, I had very good seats at the X last year for the final five. I was wondering if I have an opportunity to purchase those same tickets again and have priority or do they send out information to me? I can't wait. You students up there are very lucky! Don't complain about seating changes, at least you are up there and able to see them live! Hopefully the new Twins station for '04, Victory Sports Network, will carry many of the WCHA games as they said, especially the Sioux because of Dave St. Peter. This is my only hope.
  4. I read in the Pioneer Press today that Vankek might be drafted as high as 2nd or 3rd now depending on how well he plays the rest of the way. This is good news for Sioux fans because I don't think he will be around too much longer, probably one more year. I just want to see a good frozen four. I wanted to see CC win it, but now am unsure. I hate the East and don't want Michigan to win another championship as well as the gophers, but would hate to see Cornell or New Hampshire start building stronger programs. So whoever wins will win and there won't be much we can do about it.
  5. I don't have a clue who denbo1 was responding to. Nobody blamed the loss soley on the goaltender, that was just one of the many attributing factors to our defeat. It just wasn't in the cards for us this year. I don't like this phase of time where the gophers are more dominating than us. In the next two years I think we will be the dominators. Hopefully this is true because if the gophers are the better team much longer, it will hurt our recruiting. Thank God for the new arena and Coach Blais who will pull us through this stint. As long as we can get a few bigger bodies on the ice, Parise's old line from SSM back together (which would enable us to form at least three strong lines) and a goaltender who plays with confidence and skill to keep us in the games, we should be great the next few years. Brandt should be the guy if he works hard in the offseason and is prepared mentally for another year. What he has shown in the past few games is very promising for Sioux fans. Down with the gophers, let's go CC. I can't wait to watch college hockey all day on FSN. I also can't wait until Dave St. Peter, former UND grad who works for the Twins front office to launch this Victory sports network. He promised they would bring college hockey games to the screen during the winter especially the SIOUX! Don't be worried or upset Sioux fans, our future looks bright. We don't want to drop ourselves down to the gophers level and start blaspheming other teams in our conference and ripping their fans. This looks very bad and we don't want to have that image. We are proud of our team and I would like nothing more at this point and time for the gophers to be knocked out of this tournament but I will not stand up and rip their fans if they lose and get scored against. This isn't classy, especially since we have already lost. I was watching the championship tape from 2000 and it was great to see gopher fans cheering for us. This is the way it should be, others of you may feel differently. It all depends on the situation and level in the tournament. Right now the gophers need a loss to bring them back to reality because they have already had their glory and it is time for another WCHA team. I just needed to vent a little, sorry. As the great Tupac said, "Keep your head up"
  6. Our last game of the season really exemplified what went wrong the entire second half of the schedule. We couldn't put the puck in the net when we had the chance (ex. 2, 5-3 in last two games nothing to show power plays didn't happen) our defense couldn't keep the puck in to give us second chances (although David Hale threw bodies all over the ice, which was nice to see) and the entire country saw our goaltending woes (although some of the goals were unstoppable and Brandt should have stayed in the game, screw the changing goalies to motivate the team idea, Brandt didn't even have a chance on the majority of his goals, Siembida let in that soft goal when we just started to make a comeback, Blais slapped the glass in disgust). If we could have done these things right we would have had a chance. Oh yeah, the pipes weren't friendly again. I can't believe the idiot gopher fans were giving the Mercyhurst girls such a tough time. I give them credit for standing by their team and sticking it out. I hope the gophers get pounded by Ferris and we can throw the win in their face tomorrow. It will be tough to recover from such an easy game. If Ferris can start out quick, they could hold on to win. I can't wait for next year. It won't come siouxn enough! It was great to see all of the Sioux fans there tonight. Don't give up, Blais will work these kinks out for next year, he knows what he is doing up there. I don't want to see an East team win the entire thing, so I think I will now pull for Colorado. They deserve it the most now. It still was an exciting season to follow. WAY TO GO GUYS, GOOD LUCK GRADUATES, THE REST WE HAD BETTER SEE BACK NEXT YEAR! SIOUX FAN FOREVER!!!
  7. Not to knock you ~SiouxHockeyLover~, but I think your name should really be SiouxHockeyPlayerLover because you sound like a typical jersey chaser like the ones I used to know up at school. It's not bad or anything because every girl is this way. I just enjoy watching them play and it was fun living with them in Walsh hall 3 years ago. It was fun partying with them because they would get any girls they wanted back to our places to party. I know a lot of inside dirt about the seniors this year and players before them, but don't feel it is my place to expose this because they guys deserve their own privacy in certain matters. (Especially Ryan Hale and Mike Commodore) But I will never tell. One cool thing about Ryan Bayda's Mom was that she took a picture of some friends and I at the old rink with a banner and she blew the picture up and wrapped it and gave it to us as a gift. Ryan Bayda doesn't have any dirt behind his name at UND as well as the Panzers that I know of. These were decent guys and I wish more were like them off the ice, but man I would live the same way as the others if I had an opportunity to have anything I wanted. That's probably why our recruiting is so good, they hear the stories about winning chamipionships and getting free cases of beer right when they land and everything else they want.
  8. Wild Sioux fan I was sitting right in the middle of M with another Sioux fan. I was doing all of the clapping and yelling when they finally brought our nets out.
  9. Hey siouxrock are you going to hook up with ~siouxhockeylover~ or what?
  10. You guys should hook up. How about it? Maybe then siouxrock would get a little action and not be sitting in front of the computer all day annoying us.
  11. Has anybody ever met siouxrock before? I am a little scared I might run into him/her tomorrow at the game. Should I be worried?
  12. You weren't really supposed to answer that. If was just a rhetorical question, not meant to be answered. I could have just scrolled the page to see. Maybe you are ALF.
  13. By the way, how did we get started talking about fords? Who cares what type of transportation you take to support the Sioux someplace as long as you are with like minds, crawl if you have to!
  14. Hey c'mon now you two. We should be saving our hate words and thoughts for the bulldogs. Hey do you think we will have a little more motivation than usual since our last loss was to a bulldog team?!
  15. BAM---Hey I'm just telling it like I saw. If you are questioning my faith and support in the team, where were you today? I am a teacher and left on my prep and am now back at school to coach. Everything can't be candy-painted and positive especially if you have coached before you would know. Haven't you ever seen or heard Blais' post game comments? You have to be critical and take a realistic view. I don't want to start an arguement with you because it isn't worth it, we both cheer for the same team. GO SIOUX!!!
  16. Only five other Sioux fans watched practice today. Bochenski's Mom was there and man does she look good! Lucia watched and looked scared for great reason. David Hale looked right on each play and didn't look sluggish at all. Bochenski, Parise and Massen or Notterman? were together. Can't remember the other lines but I am sure you all would be able to figure them out. I don't think they have changed much, just the two Hales together on D. The only two goalies that dressed were Brandt who looked good and Siembida who let in about 5 in a row at one point. Watched Kunitz for a little while and then talked to Chris and Kevin who were watching them and they said they looked like a good team. It sounds like we aren't looking ahead to the gophers, which is a positive sign. Hopefully the game will come through on television for those of you who aren't going. I suggest that you go try to scalp because some fans might sell their tickets for the afternoon game that just want to go at night. LET'S GO SIOUX!!!
  17. I think he is definitely ALF. What if Siouxrock attends Red River High School and becomes a future Sioux hockey player? How would he tell them to spell his name? SUROCHE Just a glimpse of the possible future of the rockster. The spelling looks a little familiar.
  18. Thanks for the heads up, but if you are going to tip the bottle while on the way to the game (which I am not supporting) at least make it something a little stronger than Boones. More like straight tequilla and make it worth the risk.
  19. Thanks beersong! Hopefully they will play your anthem at the games! Notice how games is plural.
  20. That's hillarious north star. I just hink oops, that siouxrock is hillarious as well by just taking the criticism and not fighting back. This siouxrock must be a girl or else is very young and doesn't really realize that he/she is really misspelling every other word or it is just one big joke. That would be a good poll to conduct.
  21. Is anybody going to meet at Sally's for a few drinks before the game on Friday? It's the best bar within walking distance of the arena. I am sure that after the night game it will be packed with gopher fans and we will be looked down upon with our Sioux jersey's in there. I am up for it though if others are. Hopefully our band will be there, otherwise when we play the gophers on Saturday it will be just like a regular season game for them without the atmosphere of another school. Anybody know yet? I guess I might just have to wait until I get to the game. Isn't anybody on this site in the band or know somebody who is up at school?
  22. Do it!!! I forcasted snow for Friday so I can cancel practice and make it to the game. This site is great. Now I have something to do when my P.E. classes are changing for gym. Hope to see you there ghosty!
  23. Anybody have any answers, the inside scoop from Forks?
  24. Is our band going to travel to Minneapolis? I used to think they were annoying up at school because they were so loud in the old rink, but after the final five I changed my mind. It was good to hear them again. We are going to need all of the noise we can get to support our troops. I think our cheerleaders are hotter than they used to be, especially now that they are on the ice. Are they going to be there? How about Katie O'Keefe? She made the trip to the final five. What about our announcer who did the Sioux game at the final five, anybody notice that? What was his name again, Scott Hennen? Even if the band isn't there I still think we will make our presence felt. It will be interesting to see how many, if any gopher fans cheer for the Sioux. I am sure they would have their reasons though, possibly so they could play us thinking they could beat us, which they would be dead wrong. I know one thing is sure, you won't catch me cheering on the furs, especially since the other teams suck and we would rather see them do good. Only will I cheer for a wcha team when it comes to the frozen four, but not the gophers.
