Lots of penalties, wow. Thanks for the clarification sprig.

Dagies, did anybody take your tickets yet?

It said in the Pioneer Press this morning that these games for Canada and U.S. today are very important that if we don't win or tie we may not advance to the medal round. Is this correct or did they just not explain everything to it's fullest?
-
On the fightingsioux.com preview for the games this weekend it says that the fighting sioux network will have the games, so I guess they must be on in G.F.
-
I should have never made the comment about Montoya letting a couple in as long as we win. I jinxed them, sorry. Let's go Zach put up some points!
-
Is that Sterling that scored for U.S. a CC player? I knew they had a Brett Sterling and possibly another. U.S. 3-1

Hey Diggler it sounds like the game will be broadcast by the Sioux network according to the release on our home sports website. Sensers will have it Friday for sure, but I noticed that there is an NFL game on Saturday and since Sensers is primarily a football bar, a few television might have that game on as well as the Sioux. We should check into it to make sure. Last time we played St. Cloud they had many fans there, which made it fun!

It is pretty amazing that Z.P stands out this much in the tourney with the many players who already have NHL experience. He hopefully will be a big star someday, he sounds like a nice, down to earth kid.
-
It's okay if we give them a goal or two here and there as long as we win. This way Montoya won't be the star of the team and Z.P will be!
-
Oh wait, now that they have scored it sounds as if there are a few. We just silenced them.
-
Doesn't this arena sound really small with an echo? Probably not too many fans. It is a good idea to have the tourney here next year.

Usually the SCSU games are on television, broadcast by their college station through KSTC-45. Now that Victory sports is supposedly here in some places, I am not sure if the game will still be on local cable television. It is more fun to watch the games with a bunch of rowdy Sioux fans at the bar though anyways.

Eaves says that Parise brings a complete package to their team in an intermission pre-taped interview. He is always around the net and seems to get his stick on the puck, great effort and awareness. He is not surprised that Zach leads the tournament in points.

I guess now that Wisconsin has 3 players suspended, they may end up splitting with Mankato now. That would help us out tremendously. Of course we need to do well against St. Cloud, but we need Wisconsin to start slowing down and lose a few as St. Cloud has already done, then the cup should be a cinch.

If it isn't on the Fighting Sioux network, it is on Victory sports both nights, I checked. The only place I know of that gets this channel is Joe Sensers in Bloomington. It is a sure bet that they will have both games on Friday and Saturday as long as there aren't any big football games on. Let's pack the place as we do each and every weekend!!! Anybody in? For you Sioux fans home from school for break, we would love to see you there! You can finally check this place out after hearing so much about it on this site. Directions It is off of 494 and France Ave. in Bloomington. Close to the 35W intersect on 494.

I know there has been a lot of turmoil surrounding this weekends scheduling in the WCHA, so I just wanted to start a poll and thread to hear what people think about how this might impact the standings. Personally, I think it is a tough situation to be in but we are here and need to make the most of it. As long as we play as well on the road as we do at home, we will be just fine. We are a lot better than every other WCHA team and just haven't had the chance to prove it yet. The only team that scares me a little is the Gophers who are starting to play strong, but they shouldn't get in they way of the McNaughton cup. I think it is great how Zach and Brady are ripping it up in the WJC. GO USA!!! Based upon this past weekends performances by both the Sioux and Badgers, it seems that both teams should be okay, but could be better if they had their full teams. The Badgers put up a good fight against Ferris State, which was probably tougher than our opponents. UND scared me a little on Sat. but after the perfomance Sun. I think we should have enough firepower to put up a good fight. Granted they were horrible teams, but you still need to beat those teams to make it, just ask the Vikings. It seems that it has always been tough playing in Cloud and I just hope that some guys step up because the Huskies will be hungry. Hopefully we can make them feed on their own %&@!. GO SIOUX!!!

I am sorry if I made you upset couteau, but it was just starting to get to me. I love reading and checking this site to keep up to date with Sioux info. especially PCM's pictures and writings. Since I usually just read and don't write, I must not be familiar with the way people reply and question each other. I did, however, just start checking the USCHO message board and will probably never check it again. The majority of the stuff they talk about is just plain nonsense. I couldn't believe the stupid poll of which WCHA arena is the best and ours isn't even listed. These people obviously have too much time on their hands. I am sorry if I offend any of you Sioux fans that post on that board. The people who post on USCHO all know that our team is the best and they just try to get on our nerves. I do enjoy hearing from the people that post on this board though from other teams such as UMDDOGZ, WPoS, greyeagle etc.. At least they have class and just like to talk hockey. Thank you very much to the people who have put this forum together, you do a great job running it!!!

Geesh couteaurinkrat, thanks for pointing that out to me since I didn't think of that myself. It was just a simple explanation as to why I wanted this thread in the hockey section. Some people in this forum are too quick to find fault in and correct others, which is kind of a pet peeve of mine as well as a few others posters I met at Sensers. (Oh, whoops an extra "s" in other) M-I-N-E-S-O-T-A (Oh, shouldn't there be two N's in Minnesota) WHO CARES! Some people just think they have all of the answers and know everything. Sorry, I just had to get this off of my chest.

Sports Illustrated must have an online magazine with pictures, anybody know? It seems that people in this forum are great at finding pictures and tidbits of random information.

Settle down, it's not the hockey team. It is a picture of one of our football players, 4 pages in breaking up a pass from the big championship game. It was kind of neat to see and I have never posted on the football portion and wasn't sure if people still are keeping up to date over there since the season is over. This is why I did it here so you all were informed. Thought you would like to know since we are all Sioux fans and love to see our small college make big news. I got to thinking though, however, how many times have the Sioux been in sports illustrated? I am sure they have had columns about the nickname before. They just had a 50th anniversary edition out recently and they didn't mention how many times our teams were represented in their many issues. I was going to try to find my issue that had the special section about the new arena with the many outstanding pictures and information pertaining to the REA. Does anybody know which one that was? Just some information to pass on and perhaps provide some small talk until Sioux hockey is through with their break.
