I'm surprised Volp is in since the other goalie played so well the night before. Oh well, I guess we have Parise in.

Hopefully we can do this again. The gophers and CC didn't look as good today as they have in the past. Maybe they both will come back down to earth at the tail end of the season.

It's my fault. I stayed home instead of going to my grandma's just to listen. Now I am learning a lesson from the man above.

I'd buy a green and a white seat. I always thought about going in there with a saw and cutting through the fiberglass plastic. I remember them talking about possible making it into a basketball venue, but the Betty has extinguished this notion.

When I was watching the Junior tourney on tv I noticed that it was very difficult to read the emblem and paint through the ice. I was wondering if it was just the camera work or the hard water they use at the rink? I wouldn't think though that how it looks would impact it's quality though. Did anybody else notice this too and did it look clearer for those in attendance?

I usually vote for Hobey Baker each year and always pick Sioux players to represent our great team, but this year it is difficult to pick a standout player. I decided to go with Genoway, Zajac, Stafford and Lamoreux since we don't have defensemen putting up big numbers. Hopefully these guys along with Spirko are dominant down the stretch. I am sure that Sertich, Sterling and Potulny will be WCHA frontrunners if they can keep up the great play. Who would you all pick? Speaking of Mankato, I just got tickets for the Mankato/Gopher game at the X just for $hits and giggles. Is anybody else in the Twin Cities going that would wear their Sioux jersey with me? I do agree that we need a sweep of Mankato this weekend to start the second half off on the right foot and show the other teams we mean business.

I think it should be a good series. Mankato has been playing much better since we met them at the start of the year, which is scary since we tied and barely beat them back then. I think we have also improved now that we have two solid goalies. I think both games will be close and I hope we aren't too rusty. The time off hopefully gave them time to rest/heal up and regroup for a second half run for a top spot. My prediction is a split, though I hope we can take care of business both nights. Here is Mankato's results, impressive that they lost by only 1 goal to CC and topped Wisco. Another Sioux fan sited! A bald guy a few rows up in the BU student section, black jersey during the last game tonight at the old Boston arena. I wonder who he was cheering for? Oh well, good to see the Sioux faithful out and about.

Why didn't we have it this year? Was it because we couldn't get any good teams and thought it would be a waste of time like the Dodge holiday classic?

I really like these Zephyr billboard hats and was dissapointed to see that they had two different gopher hats and not a North Dakota. http://www.zhats.com/billboards/index.asp I think it would be neat to have a Sioux hat like the gopher or North Star hats that said North Dakota hockey since 1946 (or whenever it started) with all 3 Sioux logos and 7 time National Champions written on it. You need to order at least 144 hats to custom order, but maybe this idea could find it's way to somebody who works through the Ralph or higher up that might like this idea as well. Since we have been talking so much about custom jerseys, it got me thinking about hats.

I hope the junior tournament bodes well for the U.S. Frankly I don't really care about the other teams or how they do, so I probably won't be tuning in here (as most of the conversation will probably be about the tournament) until Jan. 7th when the Sioux start playing again. It was probably Fechik or Grasso just trying to make a little cash for their own family's presents this year. It just goes to show that they don't have a clue about Sioux hockey and they are too lazy to work and have a normal job. So when we play the world jr. team tomorrow, are we going to rest our better players? It will be just like the final five if you are in the play in game with 3 in a row. Good practice for us in case we are in that situation.
