  1. game over. not a good showing for the sioux. hopefully the last couple of minutes carries over to tomorrow.

That would be good...they need to show that kind of fire for sixty minutes. I wonder where it was for the first 58?

Ok...Maaaaybe that's too harsh, but man I was sure thinking tonight's game should have gone the other way and that the dominating force should have been wearing the home whites.

Good showing for Eidsness coming in cold and sealing the pipes.

    Two points tomorrow!

  2. Wow this is just a pathetic. The Sioux are playing really bad this game. The PP is god awful and simply embarrassing to watch.

Let the game just end. The team needs to regroup and come to play tomorrow. Really bad performance tonight. :whistling:

I can smell this game from Duluth!

  3. I was wondering what a Seawolve was? :whistling:

:D Perhaps that DD fellow could enlighten us as to the ferocity of the Seawolf? Is it a pack hunter? Or a baitfish?

Can it swim? Is it lighter than a duck? I have so many questions about this mystical creature...

  4. I think the big ice will help the Sioux a bit this weekend, though having Mr. Finley back on D would be a big plus. I look to the experience of Mr. Duncan, the creative speed of Mr. Genoway (remember last year's coast to coast stuff on Bachman?) and the bonus hands of Kozek, size of Vande Velde, and the busy-bee attitude of Messers Trupp and Gregoire to give the Tigers all they want. and then some.

I have to give the nudge to the Sioux on depth of talent, with four very dangerous lines. If they can stay out of the box, and capitalize on their scoring chances, I like them for at least 3 of 4 points on the weekend.

    Go get 'em Sioux!

  5. His short-handed goal in the 2007 Frozen Four.

For sure my favorite TJ moment. No quit, and a sweet backhander that froze a pro-grade goalie.

It was a pro-quality goal all the way.

Thanks, TJ...for the honor of watching you play.

Lots of twine in your future.

  6. I talked to some guys at the REA who said they talked to some of the players and they all got back late to Grand Forks and just started drinking(whole team) till about noon that day and then all slept and went to a players meeting and then proceded to start drinking again. They are college kids, who drink. Whats new and whats the big deal?

It's a good thing none of the fans who watch the games at REA are the drinking sort. Things would get outta hand! :)

  7. It was race horse hockey that won it for us in 1987, 1997 and 2000. We played race horse hockey in 2002-2003 and 2003-2004 with Parise, Bucks etc. I think that when we lost to Denver in 2003-2004 something changed (obviously Blaiser left), and a different style was brought forth. We've had success since, mostly due to personnel (Toews, Oshie, Stafford, Zajac, etc), but there was a definitive change in style. Hak probably recognized something. I mean Denver didn't run and gun back then and they won 2 in a row, Wisconsin won one playing the most nauseating hockey imagineable.

I'm with you goon. I would way rather lose like we did in the 2003-2004 Final 5 (even to those same Gophs) if the style was the style we played then True Sioux Hockey. That game, in my opinion was one of the best college hockey games ever played.

Agreed with you that was a fine game...I even made that comment to several goofer fans seated all around me at the X. It was painful to see the GWG for the goofers, but at the same time that whole game was up and down, back and forth...very entertaining to watch. Not like playing the "trap" teams these days...ick...too slow.

  8. The only "kicking motion" the player made at the puck was when he completely WHIFFED on the attempt. Terrible call.

Another classic Shepherd moment. BC is lucky the Gopher's didn't win this one. :)

  9. Did you watch the Regional games. :) Saving 79 of 81 shots doesn't sound like there was much of a defensive effort in front of him. Anyone that watched the game against Wisconsin will tell you he was the reason the Sioux went to the FF.

Totally agreed. I sat right behind him for 3 of the 6 periods in Madison. JPL was an absolute stud between the posts, and made some great saves when his defense left him hangin' in the wind.
