Their hair looks like something from a teenybopper band that 12 year old girls would like. Or did you mean their hockey skills?
-
They looked pretty uninspired towards the end of the period, Duluth could put this one away early if ND comes out sleeping.
-
ND is terrible about clearing the puck in front of the crease, get it out of there!
-
And another penalty on ND, they are rattled right now.
-
What did I just tell you Irish?
-
Everytime I see a Jack-in-the-Box I think of Blood flattening Marvin and it makes me laugh. Made Blood laugh too.
-
They better keep the Duluth PP off the ice, they don't look too good on the PK
-
You know what's going to happen now right? After the early shelling both goalies will be unconscious and stop everything. Then again...
-
No kidding, 4 of these 5 goals have been a little weak.
-
ND going on PP, more scoring coming up?
-
Pretty sketchy goaltending so far.
-
Tie game on the PP goal.

Might as well start a thread for this game, keep the Sioux-Michigan thread pure. Lineups? Who cares, get this one over and bring on the Sioux!

That's a huge swing on the UMD game, it takes quite a bit of money bet on one side to move it that far, I wonder if it is respect for Duluth or no confidence in ND? UND line looks about right, that $170. is just enough to sway some real gamblers into Michigan backers, if I was a Sioux better and it went to $300. I'd just stay away from the game altogether and put more on the other game, betting $300. to get $400. back isn't too appealing. For those people saying the WCHA is down this year...apparently the experts don't agree.

I look at the title of this thread... "UMD Fans-What Happened?"... and I think it should say "WCHA Fans-What Changed?" People act surprised that fan bases such as Bemidji and Duluth, who are generally considered more allies than enemies, have recently become a little more distant and critical and yeah, maybe even ornery towards us. I'm not surprised at all, it comes with the territory. With the Gophers slide the last few years we are now the team in everybodys crosshairs, the biggest meanies in the roughest, toughest conference in college hockey, and people aren't going to love you for that. Every team outside the WCHA hates the WCHA because they think it's thug hockey, every team in the WCHA has disdain for the teams that consistently battle for the top of the pile. The difference is up until a couple years ago the Gophers caught most of the flak while UND and Denver were considered more like misdemeanor offenders, now that Minnesota has been a middle-of-the-pack team for a few years we are drawing more of the haters, and probably for good reason. Why? 1) We're winning. 2) We play hard, some would say too hard. 3) We have a huge fan base, many very rabid, and quite a few jackasses. And we talk a lot of sh^t. Honestly if I didn't love the Sioux I'd probably hate us too. FYI, I am cheering for a Sioux-Duluth final, WCHA > everybody else.

I don't think there's any reason to be scared about this meeting, to me this is a second chance I didn't see coming until the legislation was passed. After this meeting either the nickname will go away once and for all, which we all expected, or something better will happen, which we had pretty much lost hope of. Short of being stuck back on the H&A list if both parties do opt to test the legal waters again, which would surprise me, I don't see much of a downside for the supporters...the horse wasn't totally dead but it was on life support. One thing I have to correct though is the NCAA does carry more weight than any other dog in this fight, regardless of the stance of the state/SBHE, the university, Spirit Lake, or the fans, the NCAA has the final trump card in the hole and can say, "Nah, this is what we want or else..." and that will probably be it. And up until now it seemed like that was the only way it was going to play out. BUT...all of a sudden the new NCAA president decides to come to ND and have a roundtable discussion about the issue. And what I can't get my mind wrapped around is why? Is he coming to lay down the law and give a "You guys already agreed to this and if you try to backslide and take us to court we're going to do this and this and this and this and make your life hell until you settle again" speech? Does he truly have a desire to try to appease the masses and try to salvage the nickname? Is he testing the waters with the SBHE and whatever legislators they round up to gauge if they have the stones to throw down once more? Or if they really want to save it at all or are just trying to save face for their re-election chances? I wish I knew what was going around and around in Emmert's mind, because until we know that the rest of this is just one big grey area. One thing is sure, if representatives from the two Tribes are not asked to attend the best we can hope for is that this meeting is a feeling out process... the NCAA doesn't need the Tribes in attendance to make a bunch of non-compliance threats and that would be the only other reason they would be coming without having the Tribes in attendance.

If you can't find anything keep checking StubHub, people are starting to dump their tickets and last time I looked they had about 170 tickets listed, 2 days ago the cheapest all-session was 500. and now it is 350. so they're starting to come down. Still going to be in that TicketBastard range but it might be your only option.

Awww...I'm going to miss rockybison, he was such an easy target. Oh well, we still got loconumbsackman to entertain us I guess. Never thought I'd say this, but I would trade these two for MplsBison every day of the week, at least he was semi-intelligent even if he was way off base most of the time.
