  1. Bochenski is top five in a number of categories, and Spirko is top 20 in points.
  2. Just looking at the NHL list...Frattin is on LA's roster (I'm sure you knew that and it was just a simple oversight) and Lee I think is going to be placed on TBL's injured list as he continues to recover from an ACL tear he suffered in the playoffs last season.

Yeah, you can. NDSU's current SR class has been the driving force behind that team since they were freshmen.

  6. His dad Brent played for CC, so the NCAA legacy is certainly there. I believe NCAA was always the preferred route.
  7. Agreed. I love Gropp having watched him play numerous times (mostly prior to his commitment), but he is not a Toews-caliber recruit. That being said, he just turned 17 a couple weeks ago and he will be a very, very good player for UND.
  8. Hey, at least we're still only two FCS natties behind NDSU...
  9. Squirt last season, 1st year pee wee this season.
  10. Tucker Poolman may very well be the preseason front runner for USHL D-man of the Year. Colton is a d-man for EGF, and as far as I know all the underclassmen for EGF (Bowen, Poolman, the Lovens, Tweten, Eades, Ausmus, etc.) are returning to play high school. There's also one more Poolman coming through the system. Mason is a bit younger (2002 BY), but he too is a good player.
  11. I'm too guessing Blood will end up in Binghamton. Last I heard, VandeVelde is still battling it out for a roster spot in Philly with two other forwards, one of which reportedly had a poor showing last night in their 4-1 loss to NJD.
  12. I watched it. Schmaltz and Gersich both looked good, their skill is pretty evident. I particularly liked Gersich though, who I thought was the best player on the ice through the first period and into the second. He had a couple of shorthanded partial breakaway attempts, was always motoring, went to the hard areas, etc. Played a Parise-esque game IMO. Mantha played a sound defensive game outside of leaving the front of the net wide open on one occasion in order to chase a puck along the boards. He does a great job clearing the front of the net with his combination platter of size and snarl. Skating could use some work as he seems to have heavy feet. Just my 2 cents, but overall three nice looking prospects for UND.
  13. Darcy is in Albany, I think Blood is still in Ottawa as the Sens usually run a full camp into late September before paring it down to those competing for the final open NHL spots.
  14. Mike Commodore will play for Vladivostok of the KHL
  15. Cakebread commits: http://fargoforce.com/team-news/christian-cakebread-commits-to-und/
  16. I am in agreement with roper1313. Hearing Cakebread has committed to UND, will be official as early as tomorrow.
  17. Really good player, would be a very nice get for UND should he commit.
  18. Hockey? 1-0 (17-6 in 1948. NDSU couldn't even hit the extra point!)
  19. Below is a a recruit/future roster PDF I came up with. It's pretty simple & self-explanatory, but there are a few assumptions: 1) I didn't predict any potential early departures for players who've yet to play a collegiate game. Thus, the only early departures I predicted are Rocco (after this season) and Jordan Schmaltz (after his JR season). 2) Gropp and Gersich were bumped to 2015-16's FR class being they are technically HS JR's this season. 3) I tried operating under the assumption of what we know for sure as of right now (outside of the early departure guesses), thus no roster spots were opened up for potential transfers or decommits. 4) I used the (fairly) standard roster makeup of 15 F, 8 D, & 3 G. 20. Yeah, Olson and Poolman will play out their junior eligibility this season, so they'll be here 2014-15. Rowe could come in as late as 2015-16, while Pelnik & Voltin could come in as late as 2016-17, and Gardner 2017-18. I'd expect Evers to come in as a normal age freshman (2015-16), while the interesting one to watch will be Mantha. He's showing like he could very well be ready to come in next season as a normal age freshman, but with Poolman coming in and only Simpson graduating, the 8 defensemen are set. Thus it will be curious to see if Mantha is willing to delay his arrival until 2015-16.
  21. Haven't heard for sure if either one is acccelerating or not. I'm assuming Gropp is. On a side note, Langley made it official today in its acquisition of Charlie Pelnik, who is expected to spend two years in the BCHL prior to enrolling at UND: http://www.langleyrivermen.com/leagues/newsletter.cfm?clientID=5079&leagueID=18700&page=73123
  22. That's good to hear. Make sure he gets here and I'll buy you a beer. He's a fantastic talent!
  23. Saw on the Wednesday chat someone asking about recruit Jack Rowe (Cedar Rapids/USHL) and why he didn't play in the preseason. He suffered a concussion that kept him out of the preseason but he has returned to skating now and should be back in the lineup for the RoughRiders.
