It is better to have no nickname then adapting a new one. I don't want to be called anything other the the Fighting Sioux. The only other thing I would support is just drop the Sioux part, since then we would just be called the fighting, which would be fine with me.

Exactly. We would be at the mercy of both tribes right to change their minds and force us to change the name within a year. That is a death nail.

With this agreement the name is gone in 3 years, because UND can't be at the mercy of two Sioux tribes within the state. While I wish the name would live forever, it is obvious now that it will be gone in 3 years. If there is anyone with a brain at the University they should just drop the name when the 3 years is up and then not adapt a new nickname. There is no rule with the NC$$ that you have to have a nickname, I'm guessing, so with no new nickname what will everyone call our sports teams? Just go back to the North Dakota jerseys in hockey and use the interlocking ND on all others. Problem solved. That will be the case until the Dakota in North Dakota becomes "hostile and abusive". I hate the PC world I now live in. When will this country start looking at the real problems in the world instead of spending millions to change a nickname? I will never support a new nickname no matter what it will be. I will not support the Calvary, Blizzard, or whatever dumb name they come up with.

Nothing like faking an knee injury to get a higher signing bonus I doubt that Stafford will be at UND next year, but no one would fake a knee injury to get out of playing. If things were so bad you would just sign during the season and leave the team. Stafford will play in the Regionals, at least that is my guess.

Luckily the Ralph got the Regional this year Time to sell my Regional tickets to some Gopher fans, because the Sioux are done. The Ralph with be all Maroon and Gold for the Regional and Sioux fans will be selling their tickets for about 1/2 price thanks to "Coach" Hakstol. Hakstol can recruit, but he can't coach. A boatload of talent and and not even an ounce of heart. This team makes me sick. 7-8 at home is a JOKE.

Just got back from the "game", I don't think you can exactly call what happened in the John a game. Either way I just wanted to say that there are a lot of problems with this Sioux team and I wouldn't expect a turnaround like the one we saw last year. The main problem I saw with last years team was the problem with scoring goals. Loses at WI and CC last year were due to a team that couldn't score. There are a lot more problems with this years team especially something called EFFORT and another called HEART. The Sioux were beat when they took the ice and the shot totals show that. The first legit shot on net for the Sioux was Chorney's slapper in the 2nd period. Hak can recruit talent, but he isn't developing or using it. Stafford needs to show some heart. The 2 ND boys on the Gophers are up for every game vs the Sioux. What the Hell is going on that the SIoux aren't?

Western Regional tickets will be sold VERY CHEAP if Hack doesn't get this team playing. The Sioux can't depend on getting hot late in the year like last year.

The Canadian fans have shown NO CLASS 2 years in a row. GO RUSSIA, shut the Canadian fans up.

Seems like the US has been in a scoring funk since the Finnish game. They shouldn't have this many problems with so much high talent forwards.

I have a hunch that the Canadian fans would have cheered for the Russians even if the Johnson hit hadn't occurred. I pretty sure they cheeared for the Russians last year in GF when they went up against the US.

Good natured..... not likely. The Canadian fans were some of the most rude individuals that I've met when the Jrs were at GF last year. Cheering for Russia and Belarus last year and being very disrespectful. I heard F--- the US many times and not from Finish or Sweedish fans. Either way Canada didn't represent themselves well as guests last year and they sure aren't this year as hosts. Hench my bidderness. Sorry to all Canadians who did show class.

I understand the Johnson cheap shot and booing him, but the Canadian fans have been against the US since game 1. I'm not cutting them slack on that one.

If you can give it out as a country you can take it. I don't remember the Canadian team being booed in GF last year. It is classless of Canadians to chear against the US, so I don't feel bad insulting Canadians.
