I agree, let the young man make his decision on his own, but I don't think there's any way an NCAA investigation could reveal a person's true intentions so I disagree with all the talk about the NCAA investigating whether or not a person is really a fan of one team or another. I think some people are getting carried away if they think the NCAA could or would do something like that.

I think he might want to go to Montreal where he can play a bigger role and where they are crazy about hockey like at UND. Winnipeg and Minnesota both fit those parameters, as well. I don't know if he is going to want to back out of his commitment to Montreal. He has said several times that when he does leave he's going to Montreal.

The topic had shifted to how the meaning of words to describe political beliefs had changed, and I thought I would add to the discussion. George Bush is responsible for a lot more serious matters than NCAA hockey, unfortunately.

It would be awesome if one of our next slew of goalie recruits became that Goerhring or Belfour esque shutdown guy, especially in big games. THAT would probably do as much to win an NC as getting a new coach or changing our philosophy. No offense to the great goalies that we always have every year, that aren't named Goehring or Belfour.

Maybe he tells guys that don't have killer speed to forecheck and cycle because it works better for them, or at certain times in games. We were missing a lot of high-end forwards this last year, as we all know. I agree that it's frustrating to see a lot of time spent cycling with no reward. I'm not in one "camp" or the other, as most people probably aren't.

Agree with everything you said. York gets to pick from some great players, but I also think he's at the point where he can just plug guys in his system as long as they are quick and handy with the puck. I don't think he needs to have a powerhouse group of talent to get to the frozen four and win. I think Hakstol is getting into that territory. Just look at this year, for proof. Hopefully, it will all fall into place for him and us before long.

I think BC has been at another level then everybody else, so I'm not surprised or feeling bad a bout it. But, OTOH comparing scores doesn't tell the whole story obviously.

the stupid NCAA needs to go with the KRACH rankings and stop avoiding an all WCHA frozen 4 and manipulating the brackets. This is depressing seeing these two teams play in the frozen four and knowing one of these two teams will be in the championship game. ugh.
