Brown and Connoly scored all of their 4 combined goals, this weekend, on the power play(including 5 on 3s and 5 min. major) Rowney with 4 Even Strength goals on the weekend. UMD is OVER-RATED.

I concur. Yeah the refs are inept at best, if not intentionally biased, but we shouldn't give them any opportunity to call a 5 minute major, even if it was weak. I think over the last few years, our teams have gotten better at focusing on beating the other team on the scoreboard and not trying to live up to some idea of "old time Fighting Sioux hockey", but they could go a little bit further, in that regard. Just don't waste your energy and risk a penalty by playing the body hard every time. It's not worth it and we are good enough to win without doing that.

How long do the refs wait to start calling a million penalties? They're cutting it pretty close now, it's only a one goal game. They better get their heads in the game if they want UMD to win.

I hope the NCHC picks out the good refs from the WCHA and certain other refs have to take a reduced salary when everybody leaves the WCHA in a couple years, and they try to make up the difference by taking up gambling and they lose everything and eventually end up living a life of crime and go to jail and get shanked by a Sioux fan with a sharpened Christian Bros. stick. And I hope that Sioux fan is me. .... .......... ..... AGGH!! God, I blacked out. What happened? Where am I?

Just to kill our momentum a little bit. These refs are master game manipulators with years of experience.

He's getting an extra game for that?! I guess I can't be sure because of the quality of this webcast, but I don't know how Blood's hit could be worse than J.T. Brown's from last night. ( and yeah, they didn't show a replay of the Blood hit, probably because it wasn't that bad)

These refs will let them play for a couple shifts, then they'll make 5 calls on nothing. They're so all over the place. I don't know what to say anymore. Congrats to UMD for capitalizing on 5 on 4s and 5 on 3s, but if the refs would just be consistent it wouldn't be a constant odd man situation like that. I feel like that has become the hallmark of WCHA hockey.

I actually addressed that in my post, but I guess your reading comprehension isn't great. I actually want to thank you though, because you got me thinking about something. I could make the argument that Goon is alienating a huge chunk of people and it's possible that he has cost us recruits who are turned off when they find out that such far right-wing views are tolerated and tacitly endorsed by our fanbase. Something to think about. I would say the same thing if another Sioux hockey blogger was spouting off with their liberal politics and was seemingly being endorsed by this website. Anyway, sorry for hijacking this thread like how Goon hijacks this whole website to spread his views. I'll stop now, but unfortunately Goon will probably be allowed to continue what he does.

I think the administrator of this website should take Goon's blog off the front page. If Goon wants a platform for his radical political views he should create a separate blog that isn't linked on the front page of this site. I know this post has no place in this thread, but Goon's politics have no place on the front page of this site, either.

That almost sounds like an affectionate term compared to the trash that comes from those classy Gopher fans like Ball Shaver or whatever that radio announcer's name is.

These Sioux teams are always getting over-confident with their ability to move the puck and support the puck-carrier, and it seems like it always costs them at least one goal a game.
