  1. people don't care about that, haven't you figured that out yet?
  2. I get that he will be criticized but at some point you have to call out your employees (as you would say) for not performing at the level they have been known to do. Hak can only do so much but the players need to step up, but you'll never hear that from the team because they win and lose as a team. By what you say, it should be BU's coach fault for letting in that goal.
  3. Ya, Boston College only has 4 titles in 15 years. I've said it before and I'll say it again, when do you start blaming the players for not winning? You can't just throw Hak under the bus without throwing the players too. You can't tell me that Hak got outcoached on Thursday night....Hak wasn't the one who let in two soft goals; so do we blame the all mighty Karl Goerhing for not coaching Zane well enough? Schmaltz apparently not being in position towards the end of the game, do we blame Berry? These are things people dont want to talk about because apparently anyone can coach the players that are currently on the roster and take them to the FF. Pattyn said it best in between periods on Thursday "they need to man up and play". When your captain is saying that in an interview, he isn't calling out his coach, he is calling out all of those guys with a jersey on that they need to get their head out of their asses and pick it up.
  4. I've got a picture of all the old geometric banners somewhere
  5. I was looking in an old book and they had banners with the old logo on them, I wonder what happen to them?
  6. Exactly, you don't know what's been said. Pretty sure Hak gets the most out of each player, how many were walk ons and turned into scholarship players? At some point you need to hold the players to the same standard as Hak, that's why it's called a team game.
  7. So that's haks fault schmaltz just sat there? Please! At some point the players need to be held to the same standards you are holding Hak to...
  8. sounds like the roster from Blais's final year too....
  9. okay genius, what should Hak have done differently? Where is the blame on the players (not saying they should get blamed but if Hak is why arn't they) for not executing properly? Last time I checked, Hak wasn't the won who let in a couple soft goals or hit a few pipes....
  10. For a person who "supports" thousands and thousands of dollars into the program they should know that the University gets more money by going deeper into the post season than not making the post season.
  11. Was gfhockey in this meeting? All things aside, well post and I would've loved to been in a meeting like that with Ralph, talk about a guy who knows about failures and success and having nothing handed to him!
  12. You talk like Hak was handed a team that had 6 national championships in a row. What was Hak really "handed" to him? A team Blais couldn't even get out of the regionals? If ralph was alive today he would do two things: first he would probably raise all sorts of hell with the NCAA, the University and the state of North Dakota. Secondly, he would shake Hak's hand for keeping that logo around and teaching the history of the FIGHTING SIOUX to all the incoming players....
  13. Iramurphy, I've found it best not to argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.
  14. I thought gfhockey was a 1099 employee
  15. Drops the mic and walks off stage! Great post
  16. I'm fairly young (30 yrs old) but I remember my grandpa taking me to those games and it was just like you say.
  17. what was tolerated than and now is still the same. the landscape of college hockey has just changed.
  18. I meant to just agree with you was all....
  19. Of course Hak isn't untouchable, he has to start turning in below .500 season for him to be fired. The all mighty question that no one has ever seem to answer, who do you get you replace him and why are they a good fit? Don't give me an answer like "he has won a title" because Larry Coker has won a title too(watch ESPN's 30 for 30 on "THE U" if you don't understand the reference)....
  20. man you just don't know hockey....1948-1964 Michigan wolverians won 7 titles. so your theory of no program not coming close is wrong. You also keep forgetting about the years before the 80's, mostly the 40 years and winning only 2 titles. When Hak took over we were at the top of our game? Did we not lose (Parise freshman year) to Ferris State and the following year lose in the regional to Denver? We all want to win one and yes, as a fan base we are frustrated but its not like Hak has turned the program into a complete dumpster fire....
  21. He doesn't have that problem because his teams consistently perform at a high level each year, thus the influx of money towards the hockey program. Remember, it costs a lot of have hockey and to have that building and if UND does not churn out a consistent winner each year, there will be less and less fans showing up. Chances are you wont show up to the Ralph to watch UND play if they are on a 8 game losing streak. But its okay, they won a title 5 years ago so they can suck for awhile...
  22. Both Gino and Blais had years where they lead their teams to an under .500 record.
  23. I don't want to be the Miami Marlins of college hockey; where you win one title and than go into obscurity for the next 10-20 years!
  24. Are you kidding me?! You would want 10 years of below .500 hockey, no home playoffs, no NCHC tournament; for ONE title....... That would set the program back years! I for one would rather have the chance to be contenders every year than sell ourselves out for one title!
