Alaska is currently 15th in the PW and with them being an independent team, it's highly unlikely they make the tournament, especially with a few upsets going on. A good way to not worry about the PW is to just win your games and leave no doubt.
-
Because all the NCHC members wanted a national TV deal.
-
Also, its okay to go outside the UND family. Turned out pretty good last time we went outside the UND Family.
-
well it took him a long time to "get it done" in the tournament so I doubt you and the rest of the GOBC would've allowed him to stay as long as he did.
-
Wouldn't know because it didn't happen. What we do know is he hasn't done anything in the National Tournament since 2016 and thats all we can go off of.
-
After I posted it I said “sh>^, wrong thread” i am unsure how it gets transferred elsewhere too…
-
Never was comparing him to Berry. As a matter of fact, I've never been one to say that Berry should be released.

Big Ten champion, 2x Big Ten coach of the year Tony Granato has been fired.
-
Wow, I wonder how they finagled that one? That is usually never the case.

They got the rights but they won't get to broadcast the game, that will be up to UNO.

2023-24 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

Don’t need to over hear anyone at the Ralph to figure out he’s gone. If you (not saying you directly) have any hockey knowledge you’d understand that his style of play is no longer welcome in the college ranks. -
Are we looking for one great goalie and mediocre ones to fill out the rest of the roster? Are our goalies just not fighting each other in practice? I remember the days of lammy/ parise, dell/ eidsness, Saunders/McIntyre, McIntyre/ johnson. Hell I remember when Brandt went ballistic on blais when he tried sitting him for a game (I think it was Duluth). I just feel like our current goalies are like those guys.
-
You are correct. We used to have some of the best goalies in the nation and at times they were here together. How did we drop off so fast?
-
I must have missed that claim but I don't follow it too much as that group is terrible...I'm all for being positive but when s&*T isn't going correctly its okay to call them out and god forbid you do it in that group.
-
Staying on as an advisor entails that there isn't a riot for firing a god that came from the program. Obviously Brad has more slack than Whalen but getting rid of a "family member" can be done when the program isn't up to par.
-
The UofM just "asked" Lindsey Wahlen to "step down" as HC of the bball program. Will that be how Berry's time end's at UND?
-
According to you and the GOBC, Berry is secure in his job and nothing will happen. When's the next meeting of the minds at Judy's?
-
They probably didn't like Hakstol because of his stone cold demeanor and how he treated his players like adults. They like Berry because he coddles his players and treats them like children. "You get a turn, You get a turn, everyone gets a turn" (in my Oprah voice)
-
Who's Barry?
-
It's downright embarrassing.
-
No one is saying that verbatim but it's being implied not only on SS but also around GF and on that stupid "all things fighting sioux" facebook group that has a thing for "mama gaber"
-
You are spot on with your take on Minnesota and that's the thing I am afraid of that will happen at UND. Lucia went back-to-back and then they were consistently mediocre for the rest of his time. For a program like UND's that shouldn't be the standard, we lived through it once in the early 90's and we shouldn't have to go through it again. Why stop at the Engelstad Foundation? Why not get some major local businesses involved with NIL; Rydell's, Altru, Scheels, etc...)
-
Ha no its not time to implode it but its not like it used to be. I am not saying its not a good recruiting tool or that its not nice any longer but other schools are stepping up.
-
You are spot on, the Ralph is no longer the recruiting tool it used to be. A lot of programs are reinvesting into their hockey programs and building new facilities.

In the past 20 years, Denver, Boston College and Duluth have won 3 titles each (and Duluth was not far from winning 3 in a row). In times where they say "parity" is too much and you can't win a title every few years is just wrong. How are these three programs doing it? Heck, UMass was in back-to-back title games and Quinnipiac was in the title game twice in four years. So don't tell me programs aren't winning titles every few years when in reality there are programs that are. In the time span from 2000-2015 we were in the FF 9 times and since then, we have only been there once. I don't expect UND to win a National Championships every year or every other year but I do expect them to make the NCAA and win more than one game, that is not an unreasonable expectation.
