i think you are looking into the word gay and the way he used it a lil much. nowadays gay is just a generic insult that can mean whatever you want it to and in this case he was saying that dying your hair a dirty a$$ blonde color is stupid. over time the word gay has changed, it was originally used as a word to describe people as being carefree, and happy...then it turned into a word on describing peoples sexuality and now it is used as a term that can mean anything. so in conclusion i think it is you who needs to grow up and lighten up instead of calling people homophobes. if you have been on this board for awhile you would know the language that is spoke on here and realize its all in good fun and if you dont like it i think its time for you to find a different board to talk on.

Part of your statement is true, Grand Forks only had one minor league baseball team (Varmits) while the other team you are thinking of is the ChannelCats, which was apart of the Northwoods League ( a summer woodbat league for D1 College Players), it is like the Cape Cod League. Pro baseball in Grand Forks will never work unless there is a new park built (and i doubt that will happen), Grand Forks is a hockey/football town.

if you really think about it, each player is just as valuable as the next. they each play different positions and each have their own strenghts and weaknesses...Justin is a power hitter that is going to drive runs in, Joe is the guy who is going to get hits, get on base and play the catcher position very well, and Joe N is just going to go about his business and close games. so to throw in a formula to prove someone is better than someone else or to just say that one person means more to the team than the other is just plain ridiculous.

yea the only problem was the 1/2 game. kinda hard to follow this when all they need to do is win just one game! considering they went this far after losing Santana, Hunter, and Sliva (not a great player but would've helped the rotation), I think it was a very good year for them and something for them to look forward to next year!

Ray77 your possibilites are wrong, you can't win the division by 1/2 a game because everyone is suppose to play 162 games. We all know that Chicago and Detroit got rained out a few weeks back, so the Sox have played one less game than the Twins and that game COULD be the deciding factor on who wins the division. 1. Twins win tomorrow (88-74) and Sox win (87-74) = Sox vs. Tigers (Sox win, 1 game playoff against the Twins) (Sox lose to the Tigers, Twins win division) 2. Twins win tomorrow (88-74) and Sox lose (86-75 = Twins are the division Champs 3. Twins lose (87-75) and Sox win (87-74) = Sox lead division by 1/2 game and still play detroit. (Sox beat Detroit, they are division champs) (Sox lose to Tigers, 1 game playoff against Twins) 4. Twins lose (87-75) and Sox lose (86-75) = Sox go to Detroit to play the makeup game. Sox lose that game, Twins are division champs. Sox win that game, Twins go to Chicago for 1 game playoff. This is an actual breakdown of what can happen, I included the records to go along with each of my explainations. This is just like last year with the Rockies and the Padres, each team had to play an extra game to see who was going to be the wild card winner.
