They posted an rfp for this and they gave the bidders an option to give an offer for hockey jerseys as well, separately.  Results of the rfp scoring were posted on the rfp website and it should be addidas again, but ccm for hockey.  There was an addidas offer for hockey as well, but it didn't score as high as ccm.

New Balance and Under Armour were the other options I believe.  Don't recall seeing a Nike bid.

I think the Addidas bid was from Game One, rather than Addidas itself.

I doubt adidas is going to be the jersey supplier for und. New Balance doesn’t make the jerseys, they just put their logo on it (sp makes them). CCM wouldn’t be so bad but I’d imagine that the company who wins it will want all sports or nothing, as I can’t see them letting the biggest sport on campus go with someone else.

I hope to god under armour doesn’t win.

Is the teams contract up with Adidas? I would love to see a new design! Does anyone know who they are going with? What are your ideas for a jersey? Should they keep them the same?

Yes the school wide contract is over after this school year. I am assuming that the school has been in talks to outfit all our programs. I hope they go with Nike as they are one of the only ones that could outfit our whole athletic department, however they could go with Under Armour but I hope not.

Man, watching BC handle Michigan with relative ease last night made me wonder how UND would have fared had they advanced. BC is so dang fast and skilled.

No need to wonder because we couldn't get past Michigan. Plus, you're assuming that we would've beat Michigan State too.

That doesn't mean it's going to work out like he thinks. He is now just a piece of meat to be used however the Hurricanes want. I would have held their feet to the fire and demanded a rookie maximum contract. He had all the leverage and he gave it away. He needs an agent that knows how to negotiate contracts.

I hope he is successful, but I am a skeptic at this point. He is not Jonathan Toews.

I don't believe he had as much leverage as you'd think. Remember, he is a 4th round pick and is on the smaller side (who gets knocked off the puck often) of NHL players. Sure, he could've came back and tried again but what if he would've had a down year or got injured? You think Carolina is going to sign him to a lot? Sure he would've been able to wait them out and let is rights expire so he could sign a FA deal but then he runs the risk of getting even less money.

How do you think he was lowballed? He held all the cards but his cards are not exactly strong enough. He is a 4th round pick who had a banner year, if he comes back and struggles then he either takes a lower offer from them and no guarantee that he sees the NHL right away or lets his draft rights expire and become a FA and get even a lower amount with no guarantees. At least with this deal, he burns a year and hopefully gets NHL playing time.

Just wondering where allegiances lie. Know several alums, on this board & around the Midwest are offended from bashing individuals (players/coaches) & the negativity + sense of entitlement some choose to hold on to. Time to move on, it is what it is, our storied hockey program will go on with life in general. My only entitlement is that dinky social check 1x/mo. I’ll hang up now & listen.

If the alums you know (on this board and around the Midwest) are offended with criticism of the program, then they probably really don't care about the program. The ones who criticize the program are fully invested and want the program to succeed and what is a good measurement of success? winning post season games and championships. I would like to think that most fans understand we are not going to win a Natty every year but winning post season games should be the expectation and the program has not done that. For a program like ours, we shouldn't have only ONE victory in the post season (against AIC) since 2016. Currently we are the "lousiest of the best and the best of the lousiest" and that just does not cut it at a program like UND's.

That must have been such a cool moment.  Cool to hear that Bubbs was there for that.
A different path when compared to the 'screaming and throwing chairs' crowd, but you can tell that Bubbs really cares for these kids and vice versa.

Bubbs still said that there are still very high expectations that need to be met when you come to UND. So he knows (and so do the players) that if they fail to meet expectations, they will get railed on and rightfully so.

So, it looks like there are at least 3 open positions for head coaches at the D1 level. Bowling Green, Lindenwood, and Miami Ohio. Obviously, for the most part, I don't think any of these schools have the money to seduce a current head coach in the top 20 to leave their current teams. But, what current Assistant Bench Bosses across D1 Hockey. do you think may be persuaded to take the move, to accept a position at any of these schools?

Out of our 3 Assistants, I don't see Dane leaving. I get the feeling he is most likely the "next coach up"  whenever Berry retires. As for Karl or Dillion, I could see both Lindenwood and Bowling Green as potential moves. Miami, although, currently a step down in a sense, could become a major step up, if they were able to turn that program totally around. (although it would take 3-4 seasons to do so.)

If any of our assistants left, I am assuming they would go to a program that is respected by administration and is cheered on. They probably wont leave to a school who considers hockey as an afterthought. Plus Dillion doesn't even have a year under his belt coaching and why would Karl leave?

Jerry Jones wants flashy players to fill that 100,000 seat stadium of his. He's always been like that. He cares more about entertainment than winning. That is one reason the Cowboys haven't won anything in 30 years.

That is just not true. If he wanted just "flashy players" as you say, why do they have winning seasons on a continuous basis? Once you get to the playoffs, it really is anyone's game.

Actually it did work for out for Berry in the NHL. He chose to leave the show on his own to return to UND and live in Grand Forks where his family was located. Young children in the house, etc. He made a good choice. He could’ve easily stayed in the NHL as an assistant.

Where did I say he failed at it or anything? It just didn't work out for him and at his current age he isn't going to be at the top of anyone's list to hire since he has it pretty darn good at UND.

So I have a question and wanted to see what others thought Going back to Barry Thorndycraft 1959-1964, UND has a history of promoting their assistants to Head Coach, with the exception of Rube Bjorkman. On average over the last 56 years, for the most part, our Head Coaches have been with the team about 10 years. Also, going back to Bob May in 1957, with the exception of Rube Bjorkman (198) and Dean Blais (1994), all of our Head Coaches have been UND Alumni.

Rube Bjorkman 39yo/49yo (from New Hampshire) 1968-78 10 seasons

Gino 33yo/49yo (Assistant Coach to Rube Bjorkman) 1978-94 16 seasons

Dean Blais 43yo/53yo (Assistant Coach to Gino 1980–1989)   1994-04 10 seasons

Dave Hakstol 36yo/47yo (Assistant Coach to Dean Blais) 2004-15 11 seasons

Brad Berry 50yo/currently 59yo (Assistant Coach to Dave Hakstol) 2015-present 9 seasons

That being said, Coach Berry will be headed into his 10th season next year, at the young age of 59. With that, I have a few questions on other peoples thoughts.

    1)       How many more seasons do you see Berry staying with the team?

    2)       Who do you think will be, or should be taking over when that time comes?

    3)       If it is a current Assistant that takes over, who do you see being promoted or brought in, to fill the new Assistant Coach, in order to groom them to potentially take over in time?

Berry had his shot in the AHL and NHL and it didn't work out for him. I can't imagine an organization reaching out to Berry to be an NHL/AHL coach at this stage in his life. The professional game is getting younger.

Anything think Schmidt jumped ship to quickly?

he could be a coach on bama

No. Schmidt's ultimate goal is to become a HC and staying at a ST coordinator position isn't going to get him to that goal anytime soon.

    1. trade for mr trey

    2. sign easton srick

    3. sign carson wentz

vikes qb room is taken care of for the next ten years

I really wonder why the Vikings didn't sign Wentz to finish out the year when Cousins went down. The wouldn't have had to trade a draft pick and it wouldn't have cost a lot of money.

The Vikings haven't even tried to draft a QB in years. The Spielman/Zimmer regime completely ignored the position. I think they should do what they can to get that #1 pick from Chicago and get their QB for the next 10 years.

You mean to tell me Kellen Mond, Teddy "2 gloves" Bridgewater, Christian Ponder, Nate Stanley, Joe Webb and Jaren Hall (Vikings draft since 2010) weren't the answer?

Really? Another delusional Packer fan who is drinking the puke green and p8*$% yellow kool-aid. In week 14 against the powerhouse Giants, Love was 25/39 for 218 years and 1 TD and I INT in a loss. The next week, the FudgePackers got boatraced by Tampa Bay at home. If the Packers are fortunate enough to get by the 49ers (which is very unlikely), they get the chance to get steamrolled by the Lions again. They won't catch the Lions sleeping again like Thanksgiving. It will be similar to the last 2 times in Green Bay. The FudgePackers are not even the best team in the North.

Vikings fans are just as delusional as Cowboy fans.

The vikings are a complete dumpster fire of an organization who cannot draft QB worth a damn.

Statistics for the year according to NFL.com:

    Jared Goff      4575 yards 67.3 completion % 30 TDs 12 INTs 97.9 passer rating

    Jordan Love   4159 yards 64.2 completion % 32 TDs 11 INTs 96.1 passer rating

Goff also beat the Buccaneers, Broncos, Raiders, Falcons--all teams that Love lost to. Goff did split with the Bears and the Packers swept the Bears, but otherwise, Goff had a better year. I don't know about the random last 9 games that you cherry picked, but Goff is better than Love in almost every statistical category. This is the same Goff that some Bison rubes on this board thought was worse than Wentz (those are the most delusional fans, although Packers fans and Bison fans seem to overlap). I hope and pray that the Lions get to play the Packers again.

The stats between the two are pretty much the exact same. I wouldn't exactly say that Goff is lights out better than Love. You also need to remember that Love is in his FIRST full year while Goff is 8 years into his NFL career.
You forgot to mention that Goff lost to the same team Green Bay and Love just lite up.

Those 2 have no more eligibility left.

This makes me wonder why keep a player who had 4 years to prove himself just to take a spot from a younger player that do that players role.

The 4 year transfer player is probably doing all the right things in practice and the rookie player probably isn’t grasping the NCAA game as fast as the coaches want him to.

You’re going to tell me that you’d take Emerson over Johannes right now?

what you don't get is.....if your annual final five trip included a trip to lynn lake liquors, liquor lyles, mall of america, pindea tacos, or somewhere else "aint what it used to be" and you don't go to the final five bc you aint going to those places too......you might just not go.....hence lower attendance.

What you must not understand is that Lynn Lake Liquors is no longer, Mall of America isn't in MPLS, and you can go to another pindea tacos location if you are so scared. The attendance for the league tournament hasn't gone down like you think. Your notion of the MPLS area being "big, bad and scary" is just not true.
