Isn’t it a $35 mill renovation of their old Quonset hut? But bisonville still complains about not having enough room for their stomachs, and not nearly enough leg space.
Leg room was horrible when me and my family went to the UND-NDSU game in 2016-17 season. You almost had to stand on your seat to let people by. They vowed last season to fix that, not sure if they did that or not.

Only a good sign if the Summit League is abandoning everything East of the Mississippi. IPFW and Western Illinois should be getting jumpy. But the Summit needs the Montana’s, Idaho and Weber St desperately. There is no one else to continue to meet the autobid criteria.
Other schools don’t want in a Dakota-based league unless they are also in a remote region to population centers.
Not talking Black Hill St or MSU-Billing, but flagships.
Have to get the Midwest label off the Summit and make it a Plains label.
How many teams does the league need before auto bids are taken away? Is it 6?

Well look. at. that.. These guys are unbiased... just do rankings on a bunch of stuff. Ranked UND second best logo in NCHC.
Only WMU was better.

My wife told me she graduated with Patterson at Fargo North and he wasn’t a hot head in school, but she said people change and he should be held accountable for what he did. Throw the book at him.

UND doesn't need to add a secondary logo, they need to add a primary logo and make the current logo secondary.
What Hawk logo would be better than what we have that people would get behind.

Okay.

I don' think so on an annual basis, but if UND was a top 4 team yes. So, I would say dependant on the team. In general, my comment about Boise was around the fact that Boise is more centrally located for the primary schools in the Big Sky (EWU, UI, ISU, UM, MSU and Weber St. maybe in Portland St.)..
Seems like a way better choice than Reno.

I'm not hurt by the little arrow, but you have worn it out. It loses its not meaning if you just automatically click it every time someone has an opinion.
Why not people do it to me, even when I get the positive arrow 5 or 6 times on a post there is the one down arrow from the select few that does it constantly. Again I don’t care if I get a red arrow, but I’m not the only one doing it.

Do you really believe all the stuff you say? People better fear for their lives and feel like outsiders if they dare come to the REA wearing hawks stuff or cheer for the hawks, really? And we were booing our own team, damn us. I wasn’t the one booing but I’m pretty sure it was the name and not the team that was being booed but you think what you want to think in you’re own little world. If fans our feeling like outsiders then they’re making themselves feel that way. Wear what you want to wear and cheer for the players whether you think they’re the Sioux or the hawks!
Oh yeah, GO SIOUX!!!
“When many of those same people head to a hockey game night (and it can be the same day) they think twice about wearing it in the arena because it has not been accepted there.”
Was this quote from Siouxperman8 bullsh*t?

Wow, I pop on over here and see a 63 page thread, what must this be about? Same old, same old. Old wounds that will not heal.
Outsiders perspective, you can't put lipstick on a pig. The pig, in this case, is the Fighting Hawks name, it's terrible. The lipstick is the logo. Good luck devising a logo to go with a generic bird nickname.
I've said this before and I'll say it again, sacrifice the Hawk. Blow the whole dang thing up and start over. It is the only way you guys are going to be able to move on. The Fighting Hawk name will simply never be embraced by a large portion of your fan base. If it were, you wouldn't see 60 page threads and entire sections of your message board dedicated to the subject.
The Hawk name is there for good. The logo may be accompanied by a second logo instead of scraped.

Yeah, I'm guessing he's probably more focused on recruiting, coaching, and other team related activities. You know, the stuff he gets paid for...
And Bubba, Brian, Travis and Mark weren’t. Got it.

If I remember correctly, it occurred when the stated, "You're Fighting Hawks Scoring"....Then they stopped saying that and the booing went away...
How dare they announce the nickname of the school in the same way they would say Fighting Sioux scoring. So they alter the words so the nickname of the school doesn’t get said. Pathetic. The booers better get some thicker skin in 12 years.

Wonder if they will boo the new Hawk mascot? BTW, the name Darrell won in a landslide!
Just you and the FSF club. Kids will have a good time with the mascot.

The logo, not the student athletes...do you not see the difference? Scratch that...dumb question...
The logo was the interlocking ND for the first year of the Fighting Hawks name (see 2016 National Title banner), when the booing started.

They were booing the ND Fighting Hawks.

I heard the Sioux Forever fans are going to start employing Antifa tactics on those wearing Hawk logos next year.....just a heads up.
Why make a smart assed remark when someone else posted about changing gear to not offend the presicous snowflakes of the FSF club. You don’t see that as a major problem of our fanbase? Oh wait you are the one who likes the Bison logo so why not just stick to cheering for them full time.

General rule of thumb on Sioux Sports message board. If you get an upvote from D76 you are message boarding wrong, if you get a down vote from D76 you are probably on the right track and doing well on the interwebs.
Didn’t know guys are so sensitive about a little arrow. Thin skinned aren’t we.

Remember when Travis Brewster posted on twitter they'll always be known as the Sioux the same day the Fighting Hawk logo was revealed?
It's ok because he doesn't have a large sport following.
North Dakota’s director of athletics, Bill Chaves, also signed off on including the hawks logo at center court, as did Brian Jones, head coach of the UND men’s basketball team, J. Travis Brewster, head coach of the UND women’s basketball team, Mark Pryor, coach of the women’s volleyball team, and the head of the cheer team.
He must have warmed up to it in the two years of the logo.

Fighting Hawks gear has a decent foothold with people at football games and when tailgating. When many of those same people head to a hockey game night (and it can be the same day) they think twice about wearing it in the arena because it has not been accepted there.
I know I consider changing to Sioux gear and usually wear a mix of both.
That is sad. Fans of the name and logo feeling like outsiders to support athletes of the same school, because you have some people who can’t let others accept the new name. I see it on social media, but I bet it’s 10 times worse at the REA. After all it’s the place where people booed their own team.

UND to Summit/MVFC
in NCAA News
Posted
So with schools like IPFW and Oral Roberts out of the footprint of the Summit and WIU in financial trouble maybe adding Augustana isn’t a bad idea to keep the number of teams up. Of course 5 years of making Augy a full DI member puts a time limit on their move, sooner the better.
