I think of the same thought every time an alternative Hawk logo is shown with Indian feathers. NCAA wouldn't allow it, and do we really want to go down that road once again.

History proves that when one is down the other is up. Down not meaning in the dumps but barely holding on to a playoff spot, and the other hosting playoff games. 1993-2003 NDSU didn't host one single playoff game (down), UND hosted multiple playoff games and won a NC (up). 1981-1992 NDSU hosted multiple playoff games, and won NC's (up), UND had sub-par seasons and missed the playoffs every year (down). Its true that both can be "up" but most likely with both teams in the same conference things will even out and one team will fall in the historical roller coaster we have.

After the school year that logo is to be retired. It's only the flame logo for academics and the Fighting Hawks logo for sports to be the only logos left.

Does that mean it goes back to the original name...Aurora.

So their logo could look like Nebraska's. Instead of red just sub in yellow and Farmers instead of Huskers and boom.

In 2016 Montana State had a 4-7 record, won 2 games in the conference and whose offense scored the least in conference play and the second least overall (ISU scored the least). Good luck in Fargo.

It seems like it, everyone is playing a like a team, if a player is off seems like every game someone else steps up just the way it should be. We thought we had the best team a few years ago with a whole lot of seniors on the team only to have a lot of "balling" and individual play, no teamwork, that ended up being a disaster and a first round exit in the CIT. Now I would think we have to be one of the favorites to take it all along with Weber State. If UND runs the table in the last 5 games Jones will have his FIRST EVER 20 win season before the tournament starts, he would also have 15 conference wins the most ever in his career. So whatever Jones is doing this season keep at it. Exciting times is back in men's basketball.

I just saw that UND will have the second smallest arena in the Summit League only IPFW is smaller (unless they play in the war memorial coliseum) and the second smallest stadium in the MVFC only South Dakota is smaller, compared to 7th out of 14 teams in the Big Sky for football and 9th out of 12 teams for basketball. I wonder if playing in bigger buildings will be a new learning experience for the Fighting Hawks or maybe if the buildings are half full it won't matter.
