Agree 100%. UND survived how many decades without women's hockey. I am sure they can survive without it again. Its not that big of a sport even up here, or else why is there very little support among the high schools. Even in hockeytown (GF) the two high schools have to combine to field a team. Cut women's hockey then cut something on the men's side so Title IX won't be an issue, reallocate funds into the money makers that people actually show up for and call it a day.

Seeing how the SL sponsors swimming and diving (money saver) they could keep that one, and hack that one sport in the WCHA.

That was my senior year at GFC, and it produced good athletes for UND Jay Panzer on the ice, and Phillip Moore on the gridiron. Chuck Ness was a great coach.

After years of average to below average ball, Jones is having the greatest season of his career. We saw what an extension did to Mussman and that program, a total disaster. A one year extension is playing on the side of caution unless they get to the dance then I think a 2 year extension which would include UND's first season in the SL, then take it from there. Jones doesn't have good history on his side when it comes to tournaments so winning the Big Sky Tournament is a huge step in his career. Jones winning the BSC regular season title is a great step along with winning 20 games. Minimum 2 year extension for that?

Cory St Germain was a really good goalie. He was class of 1990 (just looked it up) so late 80's.

SDSU has 21 sports, UND and Western Illinois has 20. How can SDSU's budget be on the up and up while UND and WIU aren't doing so well in theirs.

Win the Big Sky regular season title but lose in the tournamet, extend one year; win the conference tournament extend it to include the first season of the Summit League (extra 2 seasons). Jones has really done a fantastic job this season after a very cold start. I probably more than anyone has wanted him gone, but he has this team doing a total 180 and playing great basketball, team basketball. Keep up the great work Coach Jones and the Fighting Hawks!

Students must understand its not Kennedy who all of a sudden said I am going to cut the budget. He is told by the state to cut the budget. If students have a problem with it see Gov. Doug Bergum in Bismarck, and do a petition to repeal him. Kennedy is following orders that's how things work in this state. Bismarck > UND, NDSU, Minot State, etc.
