This attitude unfortunately reflects the average GF resident. It’s an attitude that holds the city back.

Build it and they will come.

So many cities throughout the world have seen that making downtown attractive again will draw people. Good for GF to get on board.

  2. The NCHC needs to schedule more games against Atlantic Hockey. Head to head, the NCHC is even with the B10 and Hockey East, but schools from those conferences have played AHA teams 9 and 8 games respectively.

9 of B10s 20 wins are against AHA teams and HE is 2-4-2 vs the bottom league.

So happy you were never on a team I coached. I would have left your ass on the curb as the bus was pulling away.

Yeah, because the apathy of fans is exactly the same as the feelings of players.

  4. It's just so difficult to even have any hope of a win today. This team has crapped the bed so many times in big games when it counts, that to get your hopes up for a win will just leave you crushed.

I'll be watching and hoping for a win but not really expecting one. And that's not how a fanbase should be.

    Respectfully disagree.

I've thought about this, and if someone takes off their Bison-hating glasses, it seems fair to say that (1) Wentz is a truly gifted athlete who can make things happen with his feet the way few NFL QBs can, (2) he is an appropriate QB around whom to BUILD a winning franchise, but who cannot do it alone and probably does not have Brady-like title potential, and (3) we'll never know where he might be if not for the successive, season-ending injuries.

He has not quite lived up to his incredible rookie performance, but time will tell.  He is one of the most famous North Dakotans on the planet, and the current face of FCS in the NFL, and ND is well served by his success.

I think the biggest issue is your #3. He is constantly injured. He was on MVP pace when they won the Super Bowl, but as we saw, a very average QB playing a bit out of his mind was able to lead that team. I think when Wentz is asked to lead the team when it's not the perfect setup, he has had some trouble with that. And his injuries probably play a big role.

  6. The problem with any minor league team is that they play a majority of their games Thursday - Sunday. Unless they're heavy on former local players who have tons of followers, they'll be going head-to-head against UND hockey. Yeah, it's more family friendly price-wise to go to these games vs the Ralph, but what's the major draw vs high school teams?

No one in the national media has trouble distinguishing Michigan from MSU, Arizona from ASU, Florida from Florida State. I've never understood why differentiating UND from NDSU is such a challenge.

Here in Germany, I went to a game last week with my Sioux jersey on and was asked about the Notre Dame sigh-ux.

UND isn't top tier and even with a deep run into the Final Four in basketball still won't be a household name, or barely recognizable. Although, the f'n hawks logo sure stands out among other logos when displayed in a bracket.

    Zane getting called up.

Markstrom is expected to be back this weekend. If he isn't, the Canucks play back-to-back on Saturday/Sunday. He could get in on Saturday vs the struggling Devils.

Sure, but then you publicly criticized him on here, which was silly. So, you got called out for it.

You were being a jerk, simple as that. You have every right to criticize, but I was just wondering what the point was.

What do you expect from jumbo when he posts an article? If it's a complete mess, he deserves criticism. Fortunately, it never is. The same can't be said about Goon, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't hold him to a standard that involves getting the names of players or teams right on a consistent basis.

Sure does sound like jealousy to me. With some arrogance on top.

I didn't mention my credentials until someone said I was likely jealous of Eric's access to the press box. So if you want arrogance, I can go there with tales of my press access to collegiate and professional sports in multiple states and Europe.

I have already contacted UND, but as I'm sure you know, that's not a precursor to disagreeing with something on Siouxsports.

Is it too much to ask that someone who covers a team and sport we love actually know how to write?

So, directly attack him on it in a public forum? Cool. Good for you, man.

To be clear, I'm attacking his content not him as a person. I've met Goon and his family and they're nice people.

I just expect UND hockey to have a standard of quality when it comes to press access.

I have no problem with Seamore Sports and their coverage. I actually appreciate it.

Strange. I don't have a problem with any fan starting a blog about the team they like. If you don't like the blog, don't read it. Not sure why you need to be mean about it.

Everyone can start a blog for all I care.  I had a NASCAR blog from 2004-2006. Dale Jarrett was the best.

But that doesn't mean I deserved a credential to races.

There are thousands, if not millions, of blogs by people that can't write. They can have a blog all they want, but there needs to be a standard of quality when it comes to access.

Sounds like you guys are jealous you don't get to sit in the press box and get lots of access to our favorite team. You two need tissues? Maybe a bandaid? My bad, bandaids don't help hurt feelings.

    You do you, Goonie.

Having sat in the press box at the Ralph and 5 other NCHC schools, the first four frozen faceoffs and been in the locker rooms of the Chicago frozen four, I don't have a hint of jealousy.

I do have issue with a fan who starts a blog to "cover" their favorite team despite barely having a grasp of the English language.

Well goon unlike you I can objectily breakdown a hockey game without sugarcoating the results to fit a narrative. I dont need to toe the company line to keep myself in the good graces of a "media" credential.

You don't either, but I'm absolutely certain, you don't know that.

But .... and here's some real info you can regurgitate in broken engrish and call it a "blog"....

Not being negative. ... just facts.

Canisius is a terrible D1 college hockey team. That's a fact.

What,  Adam Schill getting a shutout vs the Canisius isn't good enough writing? 3 grammatical issues with this tweet from our resident 8th grade "journalist."
