Why are the UND fans upset? It might have something to do with being swept at home by a non-conference opponent for the first time since October 2006. Just a guess though. 1/3 of your roster is different from that 19/20 team. Both UND and Cornell were dominant that year. UND is hardly dominant this year, and from what I saw of Cornell this weekend...neither are they. They scored on enough of their chances to sweep UND, so credit to them. As I said earlier, they appear to be a fine team. But both of these teams are going to need plenty of puck luck and a perfect game to beat the likes of Mich, Mankato, SCSU, WMU, Quinnipiac, etc if they meet in the NCAA's. It'll be interesting to see how Cornell matches up against QU when they play them...QU was a very fast, very skilled team when we played them earlier this season...UND was lucky to get out of there with a split.

Berry has had three excellent teams since he took over as HC. One was the national champ year. One was easily the best team in the nation before the entire postseason was wiped out by COVID. One was easily the best team in the nation before the postseason was "influenced by COVID" (opponents getting byes due to cancelled games) and lost in a multiple OT heartbreaker to a rival. This year we knew would be a difficult year after all the players came back for last years title run and then left or signed pro contracts. Berry has built (or helped build) those three amazing teams...he can do it again, but it needs to start now with nailing down some more high-caliber recruits.

It's crazy. I, too, expected him to have a great season and be an offensive catalyst for this team. Not so much. That's great and all, but the 19/20 season has absolutely nothing to do with this season. Both teams have completely different rosters from two years ago. Cornell is a fine team, but I'd say they're in the same boat as UND this year...both will be bubble NCAA teams and have a decent shot at not making the tourney.

ASU swept Cornell. BU just swept ASU. And Cornell just swept UND. So, logically, it appears that BU > ASU > Cornell > UND...or something like that.

Done? Season is barely half over. Unless we keep getting swept, there's still a great chance of making the NCAA's. Not that they'll got too far if they do make it.

Seems to have more to do with our complete lack of ability to score. There's been quite a few chances.

That had nothing to do with goaltending. There's wasn't a single UND player in front covering those two Cornell players.

And there's game. Way to get swept at home, boys.

They're easily the best announcing duo in the NCHC, I'd say they do a darn good job.

At least the goalie looks like he wants to pull this one out.

Yet here we are watching it happen. The team looks slow compared to yesterday. Not winning many puck battles and not much sense of urgency. We need a "push" if they want to tie this up, and so far I haven't seen much push.

I have high expectations for Gaber in his next few years. I also think a couple of our freshmen could develop into excellent college forwards. But for this year, it’s a little bleak for sure.

Seems there's one embarrassing loss each weekend, unfortunately. So far, they've been good at responding to those losses with wins (we'll see what happens tomorrow), but that's not a good recipe for a long postseason run. And if we're without Sanderson for all of February, that's certainly not going to help matters.

UND down to #9 in the PWR now. Ooff, that's quite a drop for one game. They lose tomorrow and they're a bubble team all of a sudden.

Yeah, this is a team that could win four in a row...they just need to learn how to win 2 in a row first. Ha. They played well enough to win tonight, just lost the goaltending battle. They've set themselves up for a good seed in the PWR though as long as they don't plummet in the 2nd half.

I recall only one "difficult" save from Driscoll on that 2 on 1 in the first or second...otherwise it seemed like Cornell scored on all of their decent chances. They only had 17 sog, his save % continues to go down. I'd love to see a start from the Swede tomorrow to see how he can do.

Better not watch tomorrow then, you know Berry will start him again.
