Are the drunk guys supposed to be UND fans? If so, why pick guys wearing DU colors? Too hard to search for some dudes in green?

The puck bouncing over Trupp's stick when he had 75% of the net open, was just a fitting picture of that game. I was supposed to meet a guy to buy title game tickets at intermission and he didn't show. He called me when I was halfway back to Bemidji and said he was ready to meet up. Saved me a few hundred bucks and I'm sure he found a UMD fan to take them.

I had almost forgotten. I stayed in my seat for a long time after that game. Right up until 0:00, I thought they would come alive.

The shoooot comment was definite sarcasm...even though those guys think they are being helpful...haha. There certainly seems to be nothing to build the excitement. It's short bursts of excitement and then enjoy ads, and then try to get back into the game. I understand that advertising helps pay the bills, so I'm not sure of the solution, but they are often poorly timed for sure.

It's an even split between "Let's Go Sioux" during sustained o-zone time...or people hollering "shooooooooot" on a PP It also doesn't help when a net front flurry or a skirmish happens and then it's whistle and an immediate old dutch video ad blasting from the speakers.

Agreed. MN used to be waaaay above everyone else, but it has died down for me. I also used to despise BC when they were constantly a road block at the FF

To be fair...the boys lost a good amount of games that were not on CBS Sports Network the previous 2 years

I'm sure that there is at least some amount of people that could be in that category, but I don't think it's the overwhelming issue. I'm not even sure that it's just one issue. Could be the students forced to sit, along with the on ice product being down for a couple years, or the increasing use of social media during games, etc. I just wish that it was consistently loud and a truly difficult place to play. I get the argument that it's better than most college rinks, but most college rinks aren't packed with 10k plus of the best fans in college hockey, so I hold The Ralph to a higher standard.

Just because the schools that you mentioned fall short of what they could be, doesn't mean that UND has to do so as well. I don't make that statement to point out that UND isn't as good as schools X, Y and Z. I just feel that with 10k or more fans in the building, it should be consistently loud and a hostile place to play.

I agree that it's different with the season being on the line. I understand that a January game against Omaha won't exactly be to that level, however, I still think that the crowd could be much better overall.

You're welcome to disagree. I look around and see more people concerned about taking selfies than watching the game. It's obviously better than a bunch of college arenas, but it's not what it should be. When you attend events like a Fargo Regional, with everyone into the game, it's a letdown when you return to The Ralph.

Didn't experience the Old Ralph, but I don't find anything about the new arena to be all that special, atmosphere-wise. Obviously there are some exceptions like the Gophers or playoffs...but for the most part, it's just average.

Agreed. That would be a complete disaster. The series at Sanford drew 3007 and 3112 last month.
