I totally agree with everything you said. Plus, what's happened to UND's vaunted depth at tight end? It was mentioned in the radio broadcast yesterday that the Sioux used their tight ends well as pass receivers against Crookston, and they haven't been used that way since. That makes me wonder: Are the Sioux tight ends that easy to cover or is UND not running any plays that uses them as receivers? It's baffling to me.

Matt Jones was at the blue line on the shorthanded goal. He whiffed on his shot and Stapleton picked up the puck and went the distance. Zach Parise tried to chase him down, but he'd been on the ice so long that he was totally spent.

I thought I saw him on the ice in the first period with Nick Fuher. I don't remember seeing him at all after that.

I'm quite certain that Prpich will have to sit out an NCAA game. That's the way it's always been. That rule doesn't apply in this case because it wasn't an exhibition game. It was a non-conference game.

6:03 left in the fourth quarter. Huskies go three and out. UND will get the ball back with a little over 5 minutes left. Big 4th and 11 coming up for UND. Sioux punt. Great punt. SCSU get the ball back on their own 13. 3:16 left. SCSU 2nd and 10. 3rd and 6 coming up. Sioux take a timeout. 3:06 left. SCSU picks up first down on huge play to the 50. Someone didn't cover the TE. UND has no more timeouts. Stop SCSU at the 45. It's 4th and 1 1/2. Looks like SCSU will punt. Sioux get the ball back at their own 16 with 1:15 left and no timeouts. UND down to the 48 yard line.

Wow. The Sioux were down 28-10 in this game at one point. It's now SCSU 28, UND 26 in the fourth quarter.

Thanks for the info, MavRick. I'd really like to see a game in Omaha's new arena. Someone can (and will) correct me if I'm wrong, but I'd heard that UNO elected not to join the WCHA because it didn't want to go through the waiting period (five years, I believe).

It was interesting to hear Blais talk about the issue of obstruction at media day. He commented that the officials talk about where they're going to call obstruction. In other words, it's not a matter of calling it whenever it happens, but only calling it in certain situations. That means the obstruction rules are being enforced inconsistently, which I'm sure comes as no surprise to most Sioux fans.

I saw the building from the outside when I was in Omaha in May. It was quite impressive. That's a very nice barn. I wouldn't mind seeing the Sioux play there sometime.

Here are my predictions for the game: Near the end of the national anthem, nearly every UND fan in the building will yell "home of the SIOUX!!!" Except for one spotlight, it will be very dark during Sioux player introductions. Between the first and second periods, the blimps will fly around just to annoy the students. Diggler will be overcome with joy when he wins a gift certificate good for one small carmel-pecan cappacino at Valley Dairy. Between the second and third periods, there will be a laser light show. At some point during the third period, the Sicatoka will wake up everyone around him. Approximately 75 percent of those in attendance will say or think: "A polar bear...?" Sioux fans will go nuts every time Scott Hennen says: "Here's your University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux SCOOOOORRRRRRING!!!" My predictions will prove to be the most accurate of any made in this thread.

The comment Blais made about the T-shirt Ralph gave him explains it. Everyone knew the Sioux had an easy non-conference schedule. Nobody liked it. But, the fact is, the Sioux didn't lose any of those games, which would have hurt them. They won all of those games, which helped their PWR ranking. That's what he means by "taking care of business." Blais wasn't arguing that the weak non-conference schedule was a good thing or implying that it helped the team in post-season play. If he thought that, there's no way UND would be playing Boston College this season and scheduling more games with Hockey East teams.
