I agree. I think the team needs a "leads by example" player, as Lee Goren was in 2000.

You just did start something. If you don't know what three members of the 957th died for, it's because you're ill-informed or haven't been paying attention. Perhaps you're not aware of the war on terror started by Bush after 9/11. That's the war that Osama bin Laden declared on us and we chose to ignore until he got our attention by killing 3,000 innocent Americans on US soil. Perhaps you've forgotten that the war on terror is aimed at nations that support terrorism and harbor terrorists. Iraq is one of those nations. If you don't know that, your head is either in the sand or somewhere else that the sun doesn't shine. Perhaps you believe that a leader who invades his neighbors, attacks Israel, pays the parents of Palestinians to have their children serve as suicide bombers, uses chemical weapons on his own people, gives safe haven to some of the world's most wanted terrorists, fills mass graves with the bodies of hundreds of thousands of Iraqis, imprisons children, uses torture, rape and murder to retain power and feeds live people into plastic shredders is worth keeping around. Please, enlighten us as to how the world was a better place with Saddam Hussein and his sons in power. Explain to 25 million Iraqis how they were better off under his barbaric rule. Perhaps you've conveniently forgotten that the UN ordered Saddam Hussein to provide proof that he'd disposed of his weapons of mass destruction or face dire consequences. He didn't and Bush delivered the dire consequences. When I went to Bismarck in February to attend the funeral of my friend Staff Sgt. Ken Hendrickson who was killed in Iraq, there was a fool just like you at the funeral home during visitation. While my friend was lying dead in his flag-draped coffin with members of the North Dakota National Guard present in uniform, he felt it necessary to share his uninformed, misguided, moronic views with everyone present, just as you have done here. You now know what you can do with your soapbox.

Commodore did score the first goal of the 2000 national championship game against BC. It was a rebound off Brian Lundbohm's shot. Ulmer scored the game- winner in a simlar manner on a rebound off Goren's shot.

I don't have much sympathy for anyone who gets caught parking illegallly. However, based on my own experience, I do believe that there is some overzealous ticketing going on. A few months ago, I took a day of vacation time. My wife and I decided to go do some browsing at the UND book store. I parked where I normally do, but when I got out, I noticed that most of the lot had recently been assigned to student parking. The next row over, there was a sign that said something like "Book store customer parking." I got back in and pulled up directly next to the sign. As a UND employee, I have a red parking medallion hanging from the rearview mirror of my van. A half hour later when we came out, I was ticketed for parking in the wrong section. My wife and I both checked to make certain that I was, in fact, parked in the customer parking section. There was no doubt about it. Plus, my van was right next to the freakin' customer parking sign! When I called the traffic office, the woman I talked to said that the person who ticketed me probably assumed that I was a UND employee trying to get away with leaving my vehicle parked in a space reserved for book store customers. I pointed out that UND employees can also be book store customers. She agreed and told me to bring the ticket in to have it revoked. When I brought the ticket to the traffic office, the woman behind the counter pulled out a map of the parking lot and procceded to lecture me. She said that I was probably parked in a student section instead of customer parking. I explained to her that my wife and I both checked out the situation and concluded that there was no way I was parked in the student section. I also told her that the person I talked to earlier on the phone said it was probably a mistake and that the ticket should be revoked. She said that people had been confused about where book store customers should park ever since the lot had been re-signed. I told her that while the signs were indeed confusing and that they should probably make them less confusing if they knew there was a problem, I knew for a fact that my vehicle was legally parked. Only after I got annoyed did the woman at the traffic office finally agree to revoke the ticket.

Not to mention the fact that the survey was conducted between 1997 and 1999. There's a reason that more drinking than usual was going on then.
