  1. Thanks! And for the record, I thought you asked a good question.
  2. Last season, I recall a stretch where Bochenski scored in three straight games simply by pounding away at the puck in the crease while the goalie was trying to cover it. Bo scored some beauties, but he'd also get the puck in the net any way he could. That probably why he's No. 2 on UND's list of career game-winning goal scorers.
  3. Hakstol is much more cautious. Blais probably wasn't as cautious as he should have been.
  4. Thank you! Much better. Now I don't have to worry about my sudo-reporter reputation being jeopardized.
  5. Future? I thought I already was one! Maybe UND needs to consider adding another major.
  6. Please. I've been trying to disabuse people of the idea that I provide a transcript of the Fighting Sioux Coaches' Show because I don't. I provide a summary that paraphrases what's said, which means that my interpretation of a statement may or may not be accurate. I make no attempt to include every word. I use editorial judgement to decide what content to include and what to leave out. Sometimes I get too busy typing and I miss things. Sometimes I'm not sure I understood what the person meant. Rather than provide a garbled or inaccurate interpretation, I simply leave it out. What I post here is not a transcript in any sense of the word.
  7. Actually, there are people in Grand Forks who complain about sprawl, mainly in the area around Columbia Mall. It's all relative to where you live and what you consider "sprawl." Fargo has certain geographical advantages that Grand Forks will never have. Neither city has natural wonders that will make it a tourist destination. Grand Forks needs to figure out what its strengths are and plan a growth strategy that emphasizes them. Wanting to be like Fargo doesn't cut it.
  8. I think the Sicatoka's point that it's all relative to where you've lived. The "bad" traffic I've experienced in Fargo would be considered nothing more than a minor delay in, say, Denver. To people in New York, Fargo is Grand Forks and Grand Forks is Fargo. They'd think the differences we're arguing about is splitting hairs.
  9. NO!
  10. Assuming that Brady Murray doesn't play, here's my guess on the lines and defensive pairs: Stafford, Zajac, Spirko Porter, Genoway, Massen Prpich, Fylling, Canady Fabian, Foyt, Marvin/Bina Greene, Jones Schneider, Smaby Fuher, Bina/Radke The first line is a lock because Hakstol said on the radio Monday that this line was starting to develop some chemistry and he wanted to keep it together. Hakstol also said after Saturday's game that he was happy with how Massen played, so I see him as the right wing on the second line. Genoway has to play center with McMahon out. Fylling centering the third line with Prpich on the left wing is probably a safe bet. The fourth line has looked good with Foyt centering it and Fabian on the left wing. The right wing spots on the third and fourth lines are a bit of a question mark. How that works out will probably depend on whether Hakstol decides he wants to play Bina at a forward or as a defenseman. And that probably depends on how much confidence he has in Radke for this series.

    Dubay predicts

That's a good point. The only reason Dubay makes such predictions about UND is because he knows he'll get a rise out of Sioux fans. He knows they'll call into his show all indignant and angry, saying things that he can ridicule, much to the delight of his audience base -- Gopher fans. Why dwell on Minnesota's problems when it's more fun to dwell on North Dakota's? Even though he's a Gopher fan, WPoS is giving us some good advice.

    Dubay predicts

So you're saying Dubay knew all along that Sioux team captain and defensive force David Hale was going to get sick and not return until the final game of the season? Because that's when the bottom dropped out of UND's 2002-2003 season. If Dubay somehow predicted that, he should replace the Amazing Kreskin on the late-night TV shows.
  13. You asked a question and I answered it. Now you're getting picky. Sorry your troll didn't work out the way you planned.

    Dubay predicts

I hope Dubay's prediction has the same effect on Sioux players that it does on Sioux fans.
  15. Hakstol didn't sound very hopeful, but he didn't completely rule out the possibility of Brady playing.
  16. Bill Clinton was here in 1997.
  17. As far as you know, yes.
  18. Dave Hakstol was on the radio this morning with Tim Hennessy and Scott Swygman. He said there was a possibility that Brady Murray could play against Denver, but as of Monday morning, it was doubtful.

    BSU Saturday

  20. I think we've been had. Admins?

    BSU Saturday

That is correct. Spearing is a game DQ. The referee has no discretion on the matter.
  22. Lou Grant?

    BSU Saturday

It will be both Friday's and Saturday's games against Denver. That was McMahon's second game DQ of the season. Remember his fight against Vannelli when Minnesota was here? This is what the NCAA rule book says:

    BSU Saturday

I didn't see what happened on the McMahon penalty. All I know is that it was right along the boards by BSU's bench. I heard the crowd reaction, but by then, there wasn't anything else to see. I asked Hakstol if he saw the penalty and he said he didn't.
