  1. yeah, genoway might have been better off holding that on the boards and killing some time.
  2. cornell scores on the pp. they held the zone the entire time
  3. sioux penalty. don't give it back now. kill this off!
  4. hextall goal!!!! miller made that happen... LETS GO SIOUX!!!
  5. half a minute of 5-3... come on boys! LETS GO SIOUX!
  6. another sioux pp. lets convert this one.
  7. what happened to calling the obstruction penalties, have we given up on that already vandy was getting drug down behind the net.
  8. couple of good shifts by the sioux there. need to bury one soon. trupp hasn't been back out. that is a big loss, hopefully not too serious.
  9. 1-0 cornell after 2. cornell is skating hard, we need to get more pucks to the net. only 13 shots on goal so far.
  10. we'd kill to have lee quarterbacking our pp this year. if there was one thing he was great at, it was controling the pp from the point.
  11. crap!! shorthanded goal by cornell. 1-0.
  12. cornell penalty, short 4 on 4, then sioux pp.
  13. wow. cornell player just rocketed one off the crossbar. lucky there.
  14. scrivens looks a little shaky tonight... we need to be putting more than 11 shots on goal halfway through the game. LETS GO SIOUX!! we need to get shots on goal and traffic in front, i think we will need some ugly ones tonight.
  15. not alot of great chances on that pp. still no score, sioux starting to control the puck.
  16. 0-0 halfway through second. sioux pp coming up.
  17. no goal on replay i guess vv interfered with scrivens
  18. no @#*! sherlock, and i was explaining that jones isn't out there and expected to put up points, lapoint is, that is part of what he was brought in to do, so comparing the two of them is silly. the rest of your post i agree with for the most part, as it is what i said in my previous post, except i think sitting a game would be good for him, and the team.
  19. that is so silly, it probably doesn't deserve a response, but i am bored. jones and lapoint are not even on the same page defensively. they are two completely different dmen, which is fine, and they each were slotted for different roles. lapoint is big and fast and has offensive potential, but until it starts to produce, he will not be living up to the type of dman he was brought in here to be.
  20. first point... no, in fact i don't think i said anything about his lack of offensive prowess, although that is a very valid point. my biggest observation on lapoint is how tenative he is anytime he gets the puck, and it hasn't seem to improve much yet. he makes poor decisions (like the weak pass into three cornell players last night which lead to the second or third goal) or even worse is indecisive. defenseman will make mistakes, they all will, but at least make them being aggressive. second... not often enough, but that is the assignment for the defensive partner when his partner jumps in offensively, along with the wing dropping back to help. third... let's not be silly. jones is hands down our best defensive dman, with finley a close second... i might actually put blood in the third slot, i've liked what i've seen out of him lately, he shouldn't be sitting. and to all the "thrown under the bus" apologists, get off the high horse. lapoint is a sioux, and because he is, we will cheer for him every game, and there is nothing wrong with voicing opinions or criticisms if we see something, we aren't throwing personal attacks or namecalling here. i hope he starts living up to his billing soon, we need him. he was billed as an offensive dman, and we need him to be that. there's nothing wrong with saying watching a game from the pressbox might be good for him... it might, it seemed to get the message to trupp and kozek.
  21. stafford has been kind of quiet this season, but had two goals and an assist in last nights 4-3 win over pittsburgh. hopefully he starts getting more ice time, he deserves it.
  22. a win is a win, and the boys looked great last night! we are only as good as our next game, so i hope we get that sweep tonight. all the forwards played well, i liked the lines except i thought zajac was clicking with kozek and watkins, but he played well with mario and martens. defensively, we still have a way to go. lapoint is still the weak link, and not sure why hak won't sit him, but he is so damn tenative with the puck. i liked finehage, and think blood should be playing. maybe watching a game from the press box would be good for lapoint? can't wait for big joe to get back. genoway played possesed last night, created alot offensively. scrivens didn't live up to the billing. riley nash did. he is big, a smooth skater, and as he showed, can score. he'd look alot better in green. i wish there was a mic on the ice when he and duncs got into it, duncs was a little edgy last night, i liked it. lets put another 7 up tonight! GO SIOUX!!!
  23. i think it is a combination of everyone over the age of 6 having a device that can record video, ie- cellphone, and players maybe not being taught at a young age what is and is not acceptable. i actually think the leagues that allow fighting should be able to avoid some of the cheap stuff by allowing the players to settle it face to face, but as you said this happens in every league (maybe not to this extent). i don't mind the occasional fight, but i hate the cheap stuff. i hope with all this video and websites like youtube, that young players won't be encouraged to do some of this crap so people will watch their video
