  1. there are no games in div. 1 that are gimmies. be aware of the injured animal, they will put up a good fight in the face of death. especially since the sioux have been so wildly inconsistent this season (how soon we forget). now they have been playing great as of late and SHOULD beat a down msu team this year, but i hope they don't come into it thinking they've already won. let's get some important non conference wins and keep this winning streak going. GO SIOUX!!
  2. watkins shorty! nice play by trupp to set that up. he is on fire tonight!
  3. our neighbors furnace went out early sunday afternoon, and were using a couple of the electric space heaters and the oven, ala oxbow there, and was able to keep their place at a balmy 45 until someone could get there monday to fix it. i'm pretty sure even on the coldest days, our icehouses are warmer than that. we offered for them to keep warm at our place, but i guess they figured it's a story to tell some day like these.
  4. i agree, as much as i love the guy, i think his size limits his nhl success. although you never know, if given the chance, he may (continue) to prove people wrong. and it seems the guy has a great head on his shoulders, i would bet he will be successful whatever he decides to do, hockey or no hockey.
  5. he sure didn't do anything last night, but you do realize we only have one player with more points than him (not that that is saying much this year). lets get that first stick salute tonight!! GO SIOUX!!
  6. i love slapshot references ..."don't ever play lady of spain again!" http://ca.youtube.com/watch?v=f54YcsOSTDU
  7. great news about trupp! i just hope for joe's sake that when he does come back, it's the last he will have to deal with these symptoms. i can't imagine how frustrating it must be for him. we miss him sorely on the blue line, but brain injuries arent ones to mess around with.
  8. i don't know if it is the greatest pump up song of all time... but i do like it, and it builds as it goes along, the intense part hits just at the right time for me. i personally like it, and think it is better than last years video intro. watching the players hit the ice, then the video does it for me. it's kind of along the same lines of stairway to heaven, builds as it goes, then rocks the last couple of minutes, but i undertand its not for everyone. i don't think we need speed metal for it not to be a "soft" intro. also, i like the comfy seats. i get raucus and rowdy during the games, but enjoy being able to feel my ass after the game also. i've sat on many wooden bleachers, and imho, does not add to the experience. oh well, to each their own. at least we can all agree which team is the best in the land... with the best fans (who disagree on minor details)
  9. 6-2 sioux! duncan, zajac, miller, hextall, duncan, vandy. lets rock the ralph tonight!! might be a little quieter tomorrow if the weather keeps some away, so lets whoop it up tonight! GO SIOUX!!
  10. nice article about toews... http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=397226
  11. jason blake had a goal and two assists last night, first star of the game. i think they said six points in his last three games. it's nice to see him get it going. he has not produced like expected since moving to toronto.
  12. i love the part of the article when blais mentions that over 2000 people drive to gf for sioux hockey, so there is already a fan base here. how many of those do you think would actually pay to see a bison game? unless they were playing the sioux, or maybe if the sioux were out of town and there was no tv coverage? me personally, i would still prefer listening to the sioux on the computer and watching the goofs on fsn on mute.
  13. you're giving alex smith way too much credit... losman, grossman, and carr have at least had some decent years where they looked like a professional qbs. i would lump smith in with the likes of ryan leaf or akili smith. the niners are really post-montana. young was an all-pro qb, don't get me wrong, but montana was the 49ers. i'm a niners fan, so sorry if some of my bitterness crept out there hey, they beat the jets yesterday! i would say the same for budaj(sp?), he has at least played competently at a professional level, although he is not superstar.
  14. i am biased also, but versteeg's goal was not as pretty as jonny's last night.
  15. 4-3 sioux. duncs, genoway, toews, frattin with the goals.
  16. come on az, you're killing me here yeah, i think even hakstol mentioned something about the shot discrepency. oh well, i guess eids will take the extra saves he is playing extremely confident lately though, good sign for a team struggling to find their identity.
  17. zpar scores in ot to give the devils a win. chi/det going to shootout, toews already has two. too bad his shootout game winner won't count for the hattrick
  18. even if he only played one game. (were we playing rr tonight?)
  19. eids deserved the player of the weekend! 39 saves last night, and 33 again tonight in a tight game, not a bad weekend. could get him wcha potw or rotw. or can they not get it if it is a non-conference game? boy it's been a long time since we swept a weekend! GO SIOUX!
  20. good win. doesn't have to be pretty. good sweep! lets keep it going next weekend! way to go boys! another great game by eids. balanced scoring. starting to click a little. it will be a good test next weekend against a good scsu team. we will definately need 3 or more each game to have a chance.
  21. Harvard's Ed Krayer scored the game-winning goal at 4:15 of the overtime ... gotta love google
  22. any updates on other wcha games tonight?
  23. nice to see toews doing something this weekend too. hope we can close this one out!! get a couple more!
  24. frattin has found his scoring touch again!! lets keep it going!!
