  1. I think that an indoor arena seems to quiet a lot of the enthusiasm during a football game. Compare the Metrodome to Met Stadium, Dakotah Field to the Fargodome....or Memorial Stadium to the Alerus. Even though it gets cold in ND, football is still an outside game. I also think that the tailgating fight in Fargo is not helping with crowd enthusiasm either. I recently visited with some friends that work at NDSU and they said students are pissed off at the city about the tailgating issue. In the end, it is a bunch of rowdy students that really help make the football atmosphere. Both schools need to do all they can to get those student in the seats.
  2. Boy, Dan Hammer is weak. I never liked him way back in the 80's when I was in undergrad school and he was the sportscaster on KTHI. He always seemed like a bit of a sissy to me.
  3. What debut on Sunday? Is he already starting a national show???
  4. Yeah....I am a Liberal in WYOMING.....not an easy task..LOL
  5. A couple posters on Bisonville are saying if UNO beats the Sioux it may nix NDSU's shot at a playoff spot because it would go to a tie breaker between UNO and NDSU. Given that a UNO win over the Sioux would count more than our win over UNO on head to head competition because we lost in Grand Forks. To me that scenario makes no sense....
  6. RD....If UND wins out they would be a lock on the number one seed. How on could Pitt get in there ahead of them? As for the Bison I am getting worried about the injury bug. There is a big article in the Forum on it today. Bohl will have to be working on depth in the upcoming years.
  7. I am a pretty hardcore liberal, and I sure don't like the fact that Ed Schultz is the number one liberal talk person on radio.....UGH! Correct me if I am wrong, but when Ed started out doing talk radio wasn't he very conservative? Maybe I am mixing him up with someone else, but I though several years ago in Fargo he had a conservative talk show called "Talk Back" or something like that....anyone out there know?
  8. With Masek out I honestly think a UNO win is quite unlikely.
  9. Well, the way it is lining up it looks like a UND loss to UNO will help us for sure. I would still love a Bison/Sioux rematch in the playoffs....too bad the NCAA would get the gate from that one...We would be funding a bunch of D2 playoff games other than our own....
  10. I am a solid UNO fan this week....
  11. Like Jim said, the D2football.com poll is interesting, but does not have any effect on who makes it into the playoffs or not. It is the regional rankings that are key to the playoffs.
  12. I don't understand why a satellite feed to a few bars around the country should be so complex. All they do is put the TV broadcast up on the satellite. Geez.....the major networks have been doing it for years and years. The lack of sound at many of the sites was a real stupid snafu for who ever is resposible. North Dakota is not the techno backwoods. At the University of Montana almost all football games are on satellite so alum from all over the country can see the game (high quality feeds). There is no reason that the Bison and Sioux shouldn't be doing the same thing.
  13. If UND wins out there is no way they will miss the playoffs no matter how the NSIC team are treated. NDSU may need a little help on the other hand, but again if the BISON can win out I think it would be tough to deny them a spot as well. It would help a great deal if Winona had a loss in the upcoming games.
  14. Yes, I think we have to cut Brandon some slack at D2football.com. He does not make the poll himself, but only facilitates the site ......for no compensation. It is just the bias of the people voting in the poll. All in all, the D2 site has contributed a great deal to the D2 football world. I don't like the MIAA bias, but still respect what the site has done for the game.
  15. There was no sound at the Rock Springs, WY site either. The Alumni Associations need to get the technical stuff right. Other than that it is a great chance to get together with other NODAKS. Something I really look forward too every year.
  16. I do still think that if NDSU an UND run the rest of the schedule that it would be almost impossible to deny each a playoff spot. Clearly a loss by NDSU would eliminate the Bison from the playoff picture....and I also think another loss by UND would eliminate the Sioux as well as hurt the Bison's chances at a playoff seat. It puts this Bison fan in the ackward possition of wanting the Sioux to run thier schedule.....
  17. This could shape up to be a very interesting year with a playoff rematch in Grand Forks. For that to occur I think that both the Bison and the Sioux are going to have to win out the rest of thier seasons. From the NDSU perspective we need to have an offense that shows up for the whole game. UNO got creamed by the Bison because the offense was there the whole time. The Sioux outcome was because of the inconsistent perfomance of the offense. If both teams can run the rest of the schedule the powers that be will have to let both teams into the playoffs despite the losses by both.
  18. The D2 football people have a bias against any NCC school. They are an all MIAA bunch.
  19. I am looking forward to one hell of a Bison/Sioux battle. I do think that NDSU is the stronger of the two and will prevail, but the Sioux will not roll over and play dead. I will be up in the Wind River Mountains hunting elk. I plan to ride out and drive to Rock Springs Wyoming and catch the game on the satelite. GO BISON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Just out of curiosity......if you are charging what the game is "worth" ....... How much for a ticket to the Crookston game?
  21. Why two editorials? Because some big mistakes seem to be being made with regards to UND football. While I have always supported the option for the Sioux to charge what traffic will bear for the game, it seem that they have reached the point that the market will not support the price for the tickets. UND has scheduled too many patsy opponents and has charged too much for the tickets for Bison/Sioux. Thats why you have two editorials blasting UND football. Time for Roger Thomas to wake up and get that egg wiped off his face. Don't feel to bad though. Dr. Chapman and Gene Taylor have found themselves in a mess over booze and tailgating at NDSU.
  22. Damn......I didn't realize all you guys are so old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  23. The Sioux got bit hard by the turnover bug. The turnovers were key. I for one think that Mesa may be tougher than they are getting credit for.
  24. Listening to the Davis game as it winds down, the one thought that comes to mind is that our offense still needs work. We had some silly penalties and I think that Stauss was not getting the protection he needed. Davis has clearly out played the Bison tonight. They were the best team. NDSU is a team with huge potential, but it has to find consistency. We have seen moments of greatness, and then moments of average play. I do think if this team finds that consistency we will go a long, long ways. So both the Sioux and the Bison are entering the conference with 1 loss. No one will question that the Bison face tough teams thus far, but, I do think that this shows that the NCC race is probably wide open. Especially after the game SCSU played against Pittsburg and SDSU losing to Winona. It should be a wild year in the NCC.
  25. The "Smiley Face" indicates humor....I was teasing. I think Montana would draw well, but so does UND. I want to see the series continue.....I still would like to see UND go D1AA.
