  1. It is ugly over on Gopherhole.....LOL.....get this quote from RashoLives.......

I started drinking at the beginning of the second half every time the gophers did something that I didn't understand... I'm out of liquor already

  2. It wasnt a D-back. It was a linebacker I believe.

The sad thing is that it was an honest mistake. He wasnt cocking off. He was just trying to get into the end zone. When he tried to put the ball in two hands to reach for the pylon it simply just slipped out of his hands and hit the pylon, which forced the touchback.

You honestly cant make it up.

You are right.....I just watched the replay. I tell you......God is surely not a Gopher!!!!!!

  3. Well, sitting downstairs in the Man Cave. Screwdriver in hand and flipping between the Goofers/Purdue and Illinois/Michigan State.

Thoughts.....Geez the Goofs look horrid once again (so does Purdue)....Pudue up 7-0....a nail has been pounded into Punky Brewster's coffin.

Illinois/Michigan State......this one could be a dandy.....Illinois up 3-0 (they should be up 7-0). Can Illinois outlast Michigan State?? Maybe an upset in the making.

At 2pm I gotta run the computer feed on the Bison through my plasma tv.....ugh.....I hate not watching in HD! I have decided that my other TVs in the house need to be switched to HD, but then Directv is gonna screw me on buying HD receivers...

The Man Cave is known as the Grain Belt Bar here in Western WYO......the only place in the state you can always get a cold Grain Belt Premium!

  4. Well, I have decided that when the single game tickets go on sale I will be buying! This will be an event and I am sure the crowd will be wild. It will also be interesting to see it played on a neutral floor. Now the only question remaining is how damn cold will it be in the RR Valley for that game.

    But......remember......I don't give a damn about the rivalry......... ;)

  5. For sure UND and NDSU need to be on the high side of FCS payrolls, but our schools will still be a stepping stone to bigger and better. Tim Miles left to coach BB at Colorado State for about 4x what he was getting at NDSU. And........if he has success at CSU.....a bigger school will take him. I don't like it, but unfortunately neither school will ever be able to compete with the BCS schools, and as such, our best coaches will always be recruited away.

By the way..............that $450,000 for Georgia Southern really shocked me!

  6. That, Sir, is all our group would like to see. A thorough airing of this issue, a debate and discussion based on facts, and finally an opportunity for the the people, now educated enough to make an informed choice.

    Thank you!

Bill, while I respect your right to advocate your position, I doubt that this will ever get enough sigs to even make the ballot ...... and if it does I would surely wager that this idea will see one of the largest defeats in the history of ballot measures. Bill.....it is pretty damn off the wall.....

  7. You can't fault Lennon for moving. He went to an established program for more money. In the coaching world it is all about "what have you done for me lately". I sure bet Bohl is thinking he made a mistake by not moving from NDSU when we had those two one loss seasons. A couple bad seasons later and many were calling for his head.

I think changing coaches is very traumatic for a program, although it is surely needed at times. But, many times, by switching coaches you pretty much assure a transition of at least 3 years until you can start to see what he/she has done for the program and how that persons recruits are performing. Coaching changes are big decisions with long term impacts. IMHO I think your situation at UND probably doesn't warrant Muss being fired as this is only his 3rd season. Next season he probably ought to be on the hotseat. Now, take the Punky Brewster situation at Minnesota. There is a guy that definitely ought to be gone. He is truely terrible.

  8. Quite frankly this team is soft and a big part of that is coaching. The secondary has gotten worse every year under Kelling and I swear a few of our seniors back there were better players as freshmen than they are now.

From what I saw it seemed like the secondary was out of position a good bit. I am not sure if it was a speed issue or just flat missing assignments.

  9. How about making excuses on the coaching staff they lost the game. The players are only as good as they are coached. Mussman sucks as a coach...spend some money and get a good coach somewhere else.

It does sound like UND is plagued with some key injuries though. There is nothing that can screw up a season like injuries creating some weak spots that another team can exploit.

  10. Are there many fans going down to this one It could be a hell of a game. TV on this one? Time? I am going to be in Vegas and would like to see if I could find it on TV at a sports book.....or spors bar. (The sports bar option will cost me less money). ;)

  11. What Bohl did to Mertens was absolutely shameful. 95% of NDSU's shortcomings the last two seasons were directly attributable to Bohl but he let a 22 year kid take the fall in order to save his own ass. Bohl demonstrated a complete lack of character that should serve as a lesson to any future recruit who considers playing for him.

Nick didn't have what is needed to compete day in and day out in the MVFC. But, Bohl surely demonstrated shortcomings too. Especially in recruiting and retention. I does seem that some of the Bohl issues may well be rectified.

  12. I thought NDSU used all their pitchforks and torches a few years ago when they ran Nick Mertens out of town for not living up to expectations?

I would appear that many had restocked! Patients from a significant portion of the fan base was running pretty short.

  13. I always used to be a big yapper about how football ought to be played outside and that indoor football kills the atmosphere....etc. Now that I am knocking on age 50, I have to say it is damn nice to go into the Fargodome after a cold afternoon of tailgating. I suspect if FB was played outside in Fargo it would cut attendance between 33%-40%.

  14. Some of the Bison fans are bitching about it. Too small, etc. But the bottom line is you have to do what is financially realistic and it is one hell of an improvement over the existing facility. From a home court advantage perspective, it is much better to have a crowd of 3,500 in a 5,700 seat facility rather than an 8,000 seat facility. I for one think it is fine....and surely overdue. One question.....what does the Betty seat for BB and is it an "arena" type setting and not a fieldhouse?

  15. I wonder if Brewster will even be able to find a respectable job in college football after this. He may have to drop all the way to D2. I honestly think a solid NAIA team like Dickinson State could give the Gophers a run. Also, did you notice that Brewster had one of his good receivers quit the team via Facebook last week? He has lost control of the team. Goldie Gopher will not win another game this year.
