  1. I have insomnia, and thus this is being posted at 3 in the morning Parise is one happy Devil
  2. JPar and the Lowell Devils defeated Hartford tonight 2 - 1.
  3. Sioux are coming to Boston in October for a weekend of games vs. NU and BC according to USCHO.
  4. I'm pretty sure the Sioux band plays Frankenstein by Edgar Winter . . . awesome song . . . listen to it here
  5. Hale + 5th rounder for a 3rd rounder . . . Sad to see you go David
  6. Isles wouldn't have had to do this . . . if they had drafted Zach Parise Haven't heard anything new bout Hale, but Lou usually doesn't announce things till late, so maybe around 5 p.m. we'll know his fate. Devils fans seem to think he should go, that he just can't cut it in the Devils system and that he needs a fresh start; i'm not of that opinion though.
  7. People in the know are reporting that David Hale (NJ) will be traded today . . . I'll let you know . . .
  8. I don't know if this was mentioned anywhere, but Jason Blake's wife just had their 3rd kid . . . a girl named Annabelle Marie. Congrats to him and the family.
  9. Between Kessel and Bochenski? The one chewing his gum like a motherf'ing cow? That's Marc Savard.
  10. So, here's some footage of Bochenski bantering with Bruins teammate Bobby Allen (BC) at the Beanpot. Allen takes a dig at the academic standards of UND, but there's some pretty good stuff in there like Bo's comment that if the Sioux were in the tourney they would have won 54 straight.
  11. Here's a short clip of Stafford fighting Neil after the Drury hit. He didn't do so bad I suppose . . .
  12. It's too bad they called him Gomez on Sportscenter though Here's the highlight for anyone interested in seeing the hit/goal Also, Bochenski and Kessel were sitting a couple sections away from me at the Beanpot, they had high praise for the tounament, and Bochenski called Nathan Gerbe a diver of Olympic proportions. I knew there was a reason I always liked him.
  13. So here's Zach demolishing Prucha to set up the GWG rush Also an interview here with Travis Zajac
  14. I believe Parise also pwned a guy in front of the Devils net to start the rush that ended in that goal. The announcers are just fawning over Zach right now, I don't think they're going to be able to speak tomorrow; they're so excited about his play they're screaming at the top of their lungs.
  15. Alright Sioux fans, start buying your plane tickets for Boston . . . for October 2007. The Sioux will play BC and Northeastern back to back in October. It would make sense that they also play Quinnipiac (CT) in October since they're already out east. As for potential BU/Cornell/UND matchups . . . not this coming season. BU will probably travel to UND in the 2008-2009 season for a pair. I haven't heard anything new about when UND and Cornell will matchup. Also the Sioux are supposed to play in the GLI, taking on Michigan St. in the first round in 2008-2009
  16. Just thought I'd pass this little tidbit along from HFBoards: There's a thread asking Devils fans if they would let Zach Parise go this offseason as an RFA if he asked for too much money from the Devils. One of the replies was: "Two things make Lou Lamoriello smile from ear-to-ear: Winning a Stanley Cup.... and drafting Zach Parise." Most Devils fans appear to agree with this sentiment as it is the absolute truth. I have rarely seen Lou happier than that day in 2003.
  17. Yup. Those lacrosse style goals are legal just as long as you keep the stick below the cross bar, otherwise goal would be disallowed due to high sticking. I figured everyone had seen the Legg goal before along with the Robbie Schremp goal this past training camp; that move was sick.
  18. You wouldn't happen to be the Sioux fan I see in Section 114/115 all the time would you? The first couple seats of I'd say maybe Row G or H? As for some potential matchups, I've heard so many conflicting reports. Parker has said that BU would go to Alaska to start the season, but would be playing the Sioux? Then I heard that BU would go to REA next season for two and then UND would come to BU the following year. I've also heard that BU would be hosting the Icebreaker with UND as a possible participant or that we would host a Christmas Tournament. I know Parker's certain that a BU - UND matchup is gonna happen within the next 5 years, just the specifics aren't certain. I'm pretty sure he wants the Sioux's opinion on the arena though. The Sioux still have to come East to return the favor to Quinnipiac, no? They just opened their new arena last month.
  19. Sure it is, why wouldn't it be safe? Oh, just remember they hiked the T fare so it's $1.70 with a Charlie Card or $2.00 with cash/ Charlie Ticket. Doors open at 7, it's televised, and we're still in session so hopefully Agganis will put on a good show for you. The hockey, I'm not so sure about; we have people who just come to see the band, 'cause BU's been that bad at home this year.
  20. Parking - we have several lots, price is about $10. There is also metered parking all along Comm. Ave or of course mass transportation if you're staying in the city Agganis - The arena is easily accessed from the Mass Pike off of I95. Tickets - hard to come by on game day, but if you give me a couple weeks reminder of when you plan to come up I can get you tickets for free and either email or mail them to you. BU also holds a bunch of SRO tickets which are a good deal cause the sight lines are so good it doesn't matter if you're standing in an SRO area, you'll still see everything. Yeah, you can see into Fenway from my dorm. Too bad I'm not a Sox fan. I had heard from Parker that if MSG doesn't work out, BU would go up to Lynah for 2 games. I don't care where they play, just as long as it happens. Hope you like Agganis, it's not the same as in WBA but it's a great facility. Us BU fans shouldn't give you too much trouble.
  21. We (BU) are in the Back Bay/Brookline area . . . it's not the hood and it's not the suburbs, it's just the city. If you're coming up for a game, you can't go five feet without running into a police officer, though it's not really necessary. Boston's pretty safe, just stay out of Southie, Roxbury, and Dorchester at all times and keep away from A&B later in the night. Hey, Ithacat, do people at Cornell know if the MSG deal is still in the works for this Thanksgiving?
  22. JPar with little kids . . . everybody loves a goalie.
  23. Zach Parise interview . . . what is it with guys and video games?
  24. The Travis Zajac, Hockey's Future Radio interview has now been archived as a podcast
  25. That was freaking awesome, Prpich would be proud.
