  1. I think this is the kind of win the program as a whole could use to build some momentum, not just in the context of this season.
  2. The fatal flaw here is that the most damaging quotes are coming from those that are "actually in the know." Something else I think is important to remember here, Chapman isn't dead. He resigned. He can choose to bring clarity to those "never this black and white" details at any time.
  3. My expectations are a little higher for the President of the university.
  4. I am less trusting of Bison fans' insights into what the NDSU president (interim or otherwise) thinks than I used to be.
  5. This keeps getting more weird
  6. Also, what did Bohl say to the rest of the team when the two players were originally suspended? The public announcement was a team rules violation, but the entire team knew what was going on with the police. As a coach do you say, don't talk to anyone? Keep this in house until the legal process is done? Did Bohl decline further comment pending a police investigation? I don't recall him making reference to a legal process at all, just "team rules". BTW, what does that team rulebook look like?
  7. This is what I had been referring to in another thread. There are current players that have been talking openly about this for a while. They are sick of the dirty players bringing down the clean ones. That's significant because players normally protect their own, then deal out punishment in house when possible.
  8. I think maybe I had it confused with a Bear Bryant coached Kentucky team from the '50s. Is that it?
  9. I'll have to look up the score again in a media guide, but I thought it was a rout then too.
  10. I think UND has already played Alabama back in the Bear Bryant days.
  11. I really do think it is sad that despite the two players being suspended last month, how forcefully some fans attacked, and continue to attack, the messengers in this. It isn't as though this is a coach K Duke team that hasn't had trouble before. How some continue to give the benefit of the doubt...I've stopped doing that a while back. But we just can't admit when we are wrong?
  12. Wrong? Check the dates Ehlin. You read it here long before you read it in the paper that those suspended players were suspended because of their involvement in the best buy case. You attacked the messenger then, and you are doing it now. Stages of grief: Denial, now anger.
  13. My original post: Here's your next post: My response: Judging by your very emotional response, you read more into my post than was there. I was clear from the beginning(read for yourself) there may not be more players charged if they returned the stolen goods. The speculation I made was as to whether Bohl would discipline other players himself, independent of the legal process, aka violating team rules. Again, believe it or don't, but there are more Bison players that had goods in their possession, that they did not purchase at Best Buy, and were allowed to return those goods without being charged.
  14. Like I wrote before. This was no secret around campus. To their credit, the clean players have stopped protecting the dirty ones-although this also indicates serious divisions among players (there's normally a strict code of silence, it shows how bad it's gotten) DI-I hope you keep a more open mind next time. It's fine to want more proof before coming to a conclusion, that's reasonable. However, your arguments in protection of the program went far beyond that. Moreover, Bohl's program has had enough problems that they no longer deserve the benefit of the doubt from devoted fans like you.
  15. The Forum hasn't been shy in the past about using the courts to gain access to info under ND open meeting laws. If we don't see something out of the Summit offices soon, here's hoping someone forces the issue.
  16. Would Summit proceedings, or information derived from those proceedings in which Chapman was involved, be subject to ND open meeting laws?

Takes one to know one? Is that where we are now guys?
  18. Does anyone think he can recognize the irony in the nickname opponents being a vocal minority, as is his position on the sport of basketball?
  19. I don't disagree with marketing a triple header weekend with hockey. However, football has value in and of itself independent of hockey. It's that value which must be communicated to fans to reach the goals the athletic department has-increasing number of season ticket holders, fundraising, etc. As it relates to basketball, no marketing in the world will be effective until the men stop stinking out loud. We saw this year who turns out for that product-friends, family, and the most die hard alumns. The program needs to show it at least belongs at this level of basketball.
  20. Is someone from the 1963 Bison team talking?
  21. This is why I posted anything in the first place. I didn't want the PD blamed for what's happening, or in this case, not happening. There's no crystal ball here. The clean players are naming names...it's no secret.
  22. You and Ehlin have a lot in common. Clueless until everything is spelled out in the media.
  23. Credibility? I'm not sayin'...I'm just sayin'... This isn't some big secret around campus.
  24. I'm not even naming the players implicated, let alone naming my source. I have too much respect for those players that are innocent of this garbage (hint hint) to broadcast what they've told in this public forum. Just understand the program is at a point where the players that are going about their business with integrity are no longer protecting those that are not. Not anymore.
