Amazing considering what this program has become accustomed to. Solid stat work there, too.
-
I don't enjoy getting a pat on the head from Griz fan and told to regroup and beat their rival. I much more enjoyed the trash talking that came with thinking they had a chance to win.
-
It was well publicized in Fargo that from the beginning Bohl had payment incentives written into his contract to pay him for attendance benchmarks. Even before this class went on their run, Bohl was everywhere cheerleading the public to get to games.
-
Ira has made this point well before in other discussions. They don't have a uniquely tough schedule. This is the BSC schedule they will have pretty much every year, and this year they have the good fortune of the most difficult teams at home. No one is coming to the rescue to fix everything for this team, change the schedule, or change conferences. This is it. They either get better or they don't.

I thought UM looked better than the jacks, but they also play such a different style than UM. UM beats the jacks I think, but ball control with Zenner limits possessions.

From the Missoulian regarding that play: “We worked on that play all week,” Johnson said. “We were praying they’d send a linebacker out with Tra and they did. “He’s just too athletic I think for a linebacker to cover in space. It was a pretty easy throw.” http://missoulian.com/sports/college/montana/football/griz-trounce-north-dakota/article_56020fee-1d93-11e3-995c-0019bb2963f4.html

I agree. 2 weeks to prep should allow for some personnel groups packages to gain an advantage. That, along with one of the best players in the nation watching the game from their sideline, UND may be in this game.
-
You and I will have to disagree on what we view as "great".
-
Sure wish it was the UND staff with the "great call" once in a while.
-
situationally I'd have to go back to the film to review down, distance, and personnel groups. In general, if I knew my LB couldn't cover the RB past 10yds: 1) I'd play no man coverage. Or 2) pull him and play nickel. Presumably Coach K watched film and knew what the result of that matchup would be.
-
Problem is, if he keeps insisting they are good then it becomes clear HE can't get through to them.
-
or here's a thought....pull your LB and play nickel if you know you LB can't cover the RB in that situation.
-
love roger but his first order of business would be to join the nsic.
-
c'mon man! They hung 55! He doesn't have that much time on his hands!
-
You sir, are dead on with that one. He wins everywhere he goes. Offensive tactician. Great recruiter. He found Walker, Mays, and Dragosovich in Illinois. Another reason? MIAC coaches can't stand him and want him to move on in the worst way. He's the guy that goes for 2 with the big lead (vs Concordia a few yes ago),not the oother way around.

I don't think Bartes is a better option either. What I am saying is that Joe will get an equally !@#!$ film grade as most of the rest of the offense. He gets no pass. Why am i focusing on the offense? Go back to the preseason analysis. This defense is who we thought they were. The offense is not delivering what we all expected. Look at the first half when this was a game. The O couldn't get out of it's own way let alone make plays like last year which is what we all expected. We were expecting very little drop in offensive production, and in fact the QB play with turnovers is a big part of that. Maybe it's on all of us for saying so often "the offense will be fine."
-
Words like "gunslinger" were tossed around here last week raving about Joe's throwing ability. His bad decision making and mechanics were dismissed. You know who you are. You take the good with the bad here. The second half last week was the good. This is the bad.
-
Talk of interims right now is fantasy land. If in three weeks we are looking at a 1-4 record littered with blowouts, then maybe Faison makes a move. Even that would surprise me.
-
Vigen was an ndsu player. That may be a tall order.
-
Internally? Perhaps I'm being generous, but I gave credit for the skilled offensive players they've brought in. That puts them at least in the middle of the pack of the BSC. Again, the problem is Eastern, UM, MSU, and now Northern Arizona is surging. They are not making progress on the leaders in the conference, and other teams like Northern are passing.
-
Interesting idea. Even they swallowed their pride and hired from UNI.
-
Then you know progress when you see it. Are you seeing any progress? Here's what I see in the progress of the program. They are in a new market. The market, along with our competitors, is growing by 30% annually. UND football has been growing by 10%. They'll never catch the top of the conference like that. What do you think?
-
I appreciate your general optimism around here, but the rushing numbers are an abomination. I've seen absolutely nothing from anyone or anything associated with the run game that could lead a reasonable person to the conclusion they could describe as "good".

Muss is going nowhere, in every sense of the word, during this season.
