I'm not so sure about that. To continue with your analogy, it seems to me the sun has just set, and we are staring at about 8-9 hours of a full moon before daybreak.

If "one play" is now worth 50 points, he's correct.

I hope you're right because any claims of improvement vs Sac, UNC, or UCD is fools' gold to me.
-
I think that is likely, but what worries me is what happens if the team takes care of business against the lower tier of the conference and the team finishes 5-6? I doubt Faison pulls the trigger.
-
Muss is not getting fired during the season folks.
-
A lot of great candidates being floated here. It will be interesting to find out who actually wants the job and what Faison will pay. One thing is certain though: the way this is handled (will they keep muss/what they will pay/who they go after) will go a long way in showing everyone just how important the football program is/isn't in the overall scheme of things at UND.
-
I think you make a great point here. Montana is the ndsu of the BSC. One would think trying to keep up with them should yield equally satisfying results.
-
EWU isn't the type of program to take their foot off your throat. At all. They will score a minimum of 50 unless they get the lead and then run 100% after that, or they throw short passes and their athletes just choose to slide rather than gain yards after catch.
-
I think both those guys are good candidates. It's amazing to me though, and I think it says a lot about the state of these two programs, that coaches from ndsu are being floated by UND fans as candidates for the UND head coach. If the rivalry isn't dead, part of it certainly is for this to be happening.
-
nice idea if this were 2001. There aren't enough fans there to raise the $ anymore.
-
That just doesn't look like someone you trust to lead your program. I don't blame him for feeling the way he clearly does. He just doesn't seem to understand you can't wear that emotion for the world to see. As the leader, you have to show everyone you have a plan and you know where you are taking the program, despite what happened on the field. In contrast, he looks like a freshman that has no idea what is going on and wants to hide under his ball cap.
-
USC issued the press release re: firing Kiffin at 4:35am. AD Pat Haden gave him the news when the plane landed in LA last night. When the program is committed, it can be done.
-
More evidence of UND making it's mark on this league: Colter Nuanez @Bobcat_Beat 24m After watching how truly bad UND defense is today and now watching Montana against a real team, looks more and more like Griz are overrated
-
This team will have to prove it knows how to win before I can pick them to win against anyone. Until then, I'm picking all losses from here on out.
-
oh...they're gonna "assume the position" alright...
-
More good news: future road opponent NAU is beating Montana 14-3. So there's that to look forward to.
-
Maybe this belongs in the recruiting thread, but you really have to wonder how this season will effect recruiting and success in the longer term. Not just that clearly the program stinks out loud now, but that it is a 100% certainty it is being told to recruits right now that Muss and his staff are dead men walking.
-
I guess if ndsu was an absolute league embarrassment the correlation would apply.
-
Holy S**t! What a turnaround! You have been maybe THE most positive voice on here, you've gone from that to calling for the coach's job and "fisting us with their backups"!? Someone definitely hit their rock bottom!

EWU-20 SMSU-28 half SUU-27 UNC-14 3:35 4th UNI-17 McNeese-0 6:35 2nd WIU-17 USD-3 5:21 3rd Missouri St-37 Illinois St-10 final

20-0 ndsu final zz-4 yards on 8 attempts 124 total yards for the jacks
-
ZZ will end up with more attempts than yards. And this was a one score game into the 4th qtr.
-
Remember in the preseason when they made the defense take tests to make sure they knew their assignments? That had to be open book, graded on a curve.
-
I love that story...tell me another one uncle Cratter! Please!?
