  1. I expect that Donna Lucia will get to pick who officiates the game. Do they ever win any other way?
  2. You're way off. Think about it, they have to cross a river and go into an entirely different city. A proper analogy would be the Sioux having to go play in the East Grand Forks Civic center or the arena out on the point.
  3. I think why it's surprising is that scoring is down so much this year. While it might seem that we aren't scoring that much, the other teams are scoring less.
  4. Repeat again I say.
  5. That just wouldn't be fair to have the best teams compete for the title. (I am in favor of the auto bids for even the fringe conferences)
  6. Las Vegas Blvd. I think crossing in the middle is much like suicide. OK Goon, here's how you do it. Leave the Mirage-E, walk to Ceasers Palace. Don't stop for any of those guys handing out girlie books. In front on Ceaser's palace there's a "cross walk". When it says walk, walk across the street to the Imperial Palace. If you want to see the used cars you should be able to get a free pass in front of the Casino.
  7. That's a goal scorers goal.
  8. So would Mankato losing two games this weekend drop them when those teams may be done? Mankato's fought us to the third time before and that may not be a bad thing not that we would play for that.
  9. We can hope that the teams under Mankato also lose two games next weekend.
  10. It'd be a shame if they fell out of the TUC. I see that to be in there you have to be in the top 25 in the RPI. Mankato's at 23rd right now. On the other hand according to the KRACH, Mankato's #18 and has played the toughest schedule in college hockey. I'd give them a good chance against any tournament team from the EZAC or the EZCCHA (ok that doesn't work).
  11. Maybe the Imperial Palace will show it for old times sake. That's not much more than across the street from the Mirage-E.
  12. How many times have we played Mankato in the first round of the WCHA playoffs. Seems like since they started competing in the WCHA tournament, before they even joined the WCHA we've matched up with them more often than not.
  13. I don't see the huge advantage of becoming a #1 in the regionals (aside from the last change). You have to beat everyone there to advance. On an unrelated note, how many times have we been matched up with Mankato in the first round of the WCHA playoffs. Heck we were playing them before Mankato was officially in the WCHA.
  14. Another troubling thing is that the longer a person is a WCHA official the worse they get.
  15. Right, my point was that this year it's not inconceivable that one of the top three teams will lose in the first round so a #4 would move up to #3. I should have been clearer. My point was/is that we want to be #3 but we sure don't want to drop to #5.
  16. According to the info on the KRACH poll Notre Dame's strength of schedule is #35 and Clarkson is #30. Those guys will get brushed aside in the regionals. They may even be inherently good teams, but they aren't ready to play tough competition.
  17. I was thinking about this some but I'm glad that you fingered it all out. It'd be great to move up to #3 in order to avoid the Thursday game. However 4 might do it since the league's pretty strong top to bottom. There aren't too many scenarios where we drop all of the way to #5.
  18. I don't think he was out of line. He said that at this time Campion shouldn't be officiating games. When you consider the Mankato incident particularly he's right. Knowing this I think differently of Campions behavior but Greg Sheppard shouldn't have let him get into that situation.
  19. I feel really sorry for Campion as I would for any person. That doesn't mean he should be officiating when he's not able to get his head into the game. So when he's ready to come back 100% I'll give him another chance, but he shouldn't have been officiating in several games this year.
  20. I recall an amazing amount of excitement that season as the Sioux came back from a bottom tier team in Gino's first year.
  21. It was a campaign event for Mark Andrews. I was there. Reagan had just stared down Gorbachav at Reykjavik to keep the Missile Defense program alive. His comments at Hyslop were the first public ones on the issue.
  22. That's what the fight on Sioux book says too. He must have gotten beat out by Darren Jenson so he didn't play that much. (Something like Aaron Schweitzer). This was worth it because the book has a picture of Bill Stankoven and the 'fro. Looking further in the book there's a picture of Iwabuchi in the 79-80 saying he was a "key member of the team that year."
  23. Speaking of Bob Iwabuch he was suspended for multiple games by the league. What was the reason. 78-79 Season.
