I was going to say that I think that Casey played until 84 or maybe 85. Most likely 84. This is more of my time.
-
Iwabuchi only played one year.
-
Like I said before I think Stankoven had a real nice game to win the WCHA at Williams arena. During that game I do remember saying he wanted the experience in the net. I would imagine that would be the same thing in the 1982 game, which turned out a bit better. Jenson had the experience.

I think I was out of town for the game, so I didn't see it. I was not exactly old at the time.
-
Bill Stankoven (spelling is way off) Massive 'Fro though. Or was it Bob Iwabuchi. I think that Stankoven played them and beat them at Williams Arena the last weekend of the regular season.
-
Sounds like Jim Archibald.

There wasn't much wrong with his game as a Freshman (I remember best the 6 assist game), and it was a few games which would be overkill for a person with talent. (You bench him one game and see if he learned anything).

Okay during Tony Hrkac's first year here he was suspended by Gino for a number of games. Why was it? (Ok I don't know, but want to know if someone does.)
-
Good point.

Tough One I'll take the easy ones. Jeff Panzer Jason Blake Tony Hrkac Greg Johnson Teeder Wynn Doug Smail The last one is a guess, but it seems logical. Those are the easy ones.....

Quit crying about it Maine, he did it, he even admitted he did it and you still would have lost that game. We steamrolled them that day.

The line started the year with Steve Johnson on the line. Later Gino shook it up putting Bobyck on the line (for his speed I would imagine). Johnson stayed on the line in power play situations. To fill out the power play was Ian Kidd and Mickey Krumpatich (no idea how to spell it) moving back on point.

Nice How about two players from Thunder Bay?
-
If your Kegger is going to be in mid to late April one of them could be Jonathan Toews.
-
Name a great player from Moose Jaw Saskatchewan.

You have a point but I think a lot of the time the DOT line is back out at the first opportunity. Power play time is heavily slanted to the DOT line.
-
Who says the guys that vote in the polls are any smarter than the average contributer here? You might expect the coaches poll to be a bit better but I don't know that the coaches pay any closer attention to what's going on in other leagues than we are.
-
Good Point. I think we've benefited like this in the past.

I think that this line is accounting for something like half of the scoring. Of course there are only four lines so that would mean that they are scoring twice as often as they otherwise would. But they also are given all of the premium chances to score (first power play) plus the most ice time. Besides they probably are given a bit more leeway in defensive assignments due to their scoring skill. Of course they also are just plain better than the rest of the guys. Don't forget that scoring is down league wide by a wide margin. Maybe the DOT line is the only ones not seeing that? Don't get me wrong, I see problems next year if something doesn't change. I just checked, the DOT line has scored about 50 goals and the rest of the forwards have scored about 45.

Normally I don't listen to my wife when she talks hockey. But in this case she had something profound to say. "If Jeff Panzer didn't win the Hobey, then no Sioux player ever will."
-
At least they didn't show the video of Drury winning the little league game AGAIN.

Fighting Sioux "Fan Plan" for Final Five Poster Scam
The Whistler replied to BismarckFan's topic in Men's Hockey
Let's not forget that the Teams were only set on Sunday and the poster was handed out Thursday or Friday. A lot of steps get skipped in proofing. -
Fighting Sioux "Fan Plan" for Final Five Poster Scam

well I think there might be a grain of truth that if the posters were printed wrong for the Goophers it would have not been distributed. I would expect someone to notice before they started handing them out in St Paul. Still it was an accident that someone made and the Red Baron folks or the WCHA or the printer did their best to make it right. -
You talked me into it.

Still, you have to play with tired legs against a fresh team. The other thing is that if you win Thursday and lose Friday you wind up playing the #2 or #3 seed team Saturday after playing two games. The #2 or #3 team played Friday afternoon at not at all on Thursday. That does put the winner of Thursday nights game at a disadvantage. Hopefully that wouldn't drop you out of the tournament, but it could. Has anyone said that we just need to keep winning?
