  1. Steele actually has Cal Poly at no. 14 nationally, which seems pretty strange to me considering how much they struggled for most of last season.

  5. I know Long and her family have attended a UND game or two in the past. It's hard to say how much mutual interest there is, but I assume there is at least some interest.
  6. Hayward (WI) DE Ben Rasmussen has been offered by UND: http://www.wissports.net/sports/football/b...&id=1157892
  7. I'm kind of assuming Javen Butler is incoming recruit Breon Butler's brother?
  8. Looks like Bamba's UND football career is definitely over: http://www.areavoices.com/siouxfb/
  9. Byers is from the same high school that current UND player Chavon Mackey attended.
  10. Two Iowa running backs have been added to the Wiki offer list for 2011.
  11. According to Marlin Lee, Indiana has recently offered Phillips.

    Spring Game

While I do agree that Landry needs to be better than he was last year, he's far more proven than are our returning receivers. Plus, even if Landry struggles, we have a viable alternative in Goska. When the leading returning receiver had 150 yards and a very low yards-per-catch average last year, you know you're practically starting from scratch in terms of a receiving corps. I hope I'm wrong, but I really feel like we're going to have to rely heavily on very young receivers if we're going to have any semblance of an explosive passing offense.

    Spring Game

Thanks. With Hawkins, Saporu and Watkins all sitting out the spring game, we certainly didn't have a lot of experience at corner, which may make the lack of much of a showing by the passing game last Saturday even more concerning. For those who may be a little closer to the situation, assuming Bamba doesn't come back, how big of a concern are the receiver positions? I know that Townsend and Hardin were reportedly impressive this spring, but our lack of proven production at these positions is pretty alarming. This has been seemingly been an issue since Weston graduated, but at least in 2008 we returned Trenbeath, and last year we returned Bamba.

    Spring Game

It's a little hard to keep track of which group is out there at any given time. I think the starters will be good. The run defense struggled at times (particularly when Murray was in there), but I believe that was mostly when reserves were in. Of the young players, I was impressed with Goodman and Hall. Anybody know why Watkins wasn't there?

    Spring Game

Murray was outstanding today. I'm very optimistic about the running game next season. However, to the extent today was any indication, the passing game is a bit of a concern IMO.
  17. Not that I agree with Taylor's mindset anyway, but when you factor in that they're not even winning, it makes it especially hard to justify...
  18. New offer--Donte Phillips.
  19. The response from Taylor: http://www.areavoices.com/bisonmedia/
  20. How does the average NDSU fan really feel about Taylor? Is he also potentially on the hot seat? Not only has he seemingly enabled Bohl, his non-conference football scheduling hasn't been the best, and with NDSU still stuck on 10 games for 2010, he can't be overly popular among at least some football fans...
  21. It appears Nick Doehling is no longer listed on the roster either, which would put the attrition rate at 25% for the recruiting class of 2009.
  22. IMO, Vandrovec questioning what Roebuck does or does not really believe is ridiculous. Roebuck said the identical thing he said at last week's press conference several months ago on the radio coaches' show. It didn't cause much of a stir at the time because relatively few people heard it. Roebuck's track record is such that anyone who knows much about him knows that generally he says exactly what he thinks--for better or worse. I highly doubt he was grandstanding or just saying something he thought people wanted to hear.
  23. Yeah, I'm pretty sure. The deadline of November 30, 2010, and the goings-on at Spirit Lake and Standing Rock, are fairly major "details" to have overlooked, don't you think? Even the Herald's editorial board--not exactly a big fan of the nickname--understands this.
  24. I normally like Terry Vandrovec of the Sioux Falls Argus Leader, but he displays a real lack of understanding of the issue in his blog today:
  25. We signed 20 high school recruits in 2009, including the two late signees in Hall and Mackey, and have lost four--Overstreet (what ever happened to him? ), Binns, Field and Jelinek.
