October 27th, 2007 Lynn should've done the right thing....but he didn't.

Agreed, this team will be really good. Not a ton of raw skill at the upperclassmen level, but hopefully there’s enough grit to score. Hopefully they play a possession game, last year’s dump and chase mentality was tough to watch at times.
Blake will have 30+ pts this year. James won't be far beinhd.

Remember, we will see the Gophs once a year at most during the regular season. Who cares, they aren't in our conference. Same with Michigan. We continue to be the front runner for top Canadian recruits + we are landing 2-3 top USA recruits each year.
If I was an NHL team, I'd want my players playing in the NCHC.
Minnesota HS kids from the Twin Cities (non SSM) that go to the Gophs don't worry me one bit..How many of those have turned out to be great college players in past 20 years?

Was told today that we'll get captains next week. They haven't voted yet.
Stoney - what are the early lines in practice so far?

I'm in the camp of 0 for 5 is extremely disappointing. 1 for 5 is necessary. 2 for 5 you're feeling good. Anything more you're ecstatic. I also feel like although UND is Top 3 for Eiserman, that one is an extreme long shot.
That list are ones I'm confident Berry is actively recruiting and there is mutual interest. There could be others (ex: Mac Swanson / Diego Buttazzoni) that are really good players, but not sure where they would stand.
Eiserman doesn't follow UND on IG. That tells you all you need to know.
He follows BU and Minnesota.

Tough to judge a kid this early, but he's got very high potential to go very high in the draft. Feels like a classic UND player... Big, gifted, gritty, skilled.
12th overall pick in the QMJHL

I've heard, unfortunately, we're not in the mix for Celebrini and there's some talk he may not actually go college. McInnis, we're definitely in on. I've heard rumblings about Frost and Skahan, too
Frost to BC.

Seems like we may not see as much as a deluge of signings on Aug 1 this year as apparently a lot of these top guys are actually taking official visits this year.
Who are you hearing will be the main targets?

5 days from a bunch of potential new recruits. No chatter?

Is Will Zellers on the radar at all?
Yes. His dad played football for UND also.

I heard the Grand Forks Blue Line Club bought the Diamond Bar.

Does anyone know what exactly happened between UND and Morrow/Rizzo? No one has ever found out those details. I don't believe we ever dropped either of them....
For Ryder Donovan and Mitchell Mattson, UND told them to both go play a year of juniors, they didn't agree, and both turned out to be bad college players because of it.
Jake Marto was supposed to arrive 2006-07, but was told we want you to play another year of juniors. He was bummed, but instead of complaining, he had a valuable year in the USHL as a 20 year old then stepped into UND ready to play 2007-08, rather that sit in the stands.
For Spicer, obviously it would be hard if your other 22 teammates are all headed to college next year and you are told to go play in the USHL, but you have to think long term. Look at Adam Scheel as a great recent example. Worked out great for him (BCHL).

I've pondered Montgomery doing a "Quinn Fylling" and going back to the USHL for a season. Now find my portal forward* to come in as my insurance policy on Hain's injury.
*I had dreams of Luke Sillinger; he had dreams of ASU coeds I guess. < shrug >
Sillinger was not well liked by anyone in Bemidji. And not a great teammate either. We dodged that bullet. There's a reason he picked a team that is not in a conference.
RIP Lynn Stauss - Thanks for saving EGF!
