the shooter was allegedly planning to shoot up the Fargo street fair (Terrorism = FBI involved) and was spooked when officers arrived on the accident scene.  The shooter also had homemade explosives in his car and home (ATF involved)

where did this info come from?

Looks/sounds like there's plenty of underclassmen departing ND HS hockey.  Maybe it's a normal amount of kids, I don't know.  Sure seems like more to me.

In an era where "if you're good enough they will find you," it seems like ND (especially west side) kids still carry some sort of label.

No clue how ND HS Hockey, or NDAHA can prevent this.  I personally think it sucks, but also don't blame the kids/families who want more either.   At the end of the day, sports is about "me" if you have aspirations beyond HS.   Quite the pickle.

    Which players?

This is a two-way street; coaches are just as bad these days. Take Izzy Marvin and the rest of Warroad. They recruit boys and girls to get an edge over all the competition. Is that fare to the local kids who lose their spot to an out-of-town kid because the coach wants to win so bad? I know I know; life isn't fair but if you are going to stand on this pedestal and preach that coaches these days are there to help kids grow and be better people down the road, than coach with what you have and don't bring in other talent. If you are a good coach like you say you are, then coaching kids to be better players won't be hard.
Also, I am not saying that what the Orono parents did was right, I am just speaking in general that this isn't just a "parent" issue.

Just because a guy was a great player (Larry Olimb) doesn't mean he is automatically a great coach.

Oh sure ok. Great numbers (albeit in an iffy league), captain too. I just listened to his post championship game interview…very well spoken kid. I’d be perfectly fine taking a kid like that to fill a depth role. But, if he’s thinking an Ivy that’s obviously makes sense too.

Supposedly had like a 34 on the ACT also.

Surprised he hasn't committed somewhere yet.

He's got plenty of time to age out of juniors, hopefully a name worth remembering.

Played on a team with Jackson Potulny. He is definitely a college prospect with his size/lineage/numbers.
