  1. Has anybody noticed the straping on hextal's right foot, this may be the injury everybody is talking about in the Sioux vs UNH thread (i think) and people say he has been around campus in a leg brace. lets hope it gets better ASAP!!!!!!!!!

Nothing serious. Robbie Bina wore the same thing in the 2007 Frozen Four and west Regional. Just a stablizer i believe. You know there is no way he will miss the regional.

  2. I thought I heard them say that Matt Van Voorhis (sp) who played for Edina is originally from North Dakota. I think he is listed on Heisenberg's 2011 list, so I was wondering if anyone knows where in North Dakota he is from, and does he have an allegiance to the Sioux?

Yeah. He grew up in Grand Forks. And moved when he was around Pee Wee age. His dad was the Bantam A coach in the Grand Forks parkboard system. Matt has a long way to go to be a college player, but if he grows and adds some muscle he may be close. I'm sure his dream is/was to play for UND, i'm not sure what the Edina move has done to him though.

  3. By no means does that justify it, but it goes to show that this particular incident in no way shape or form represents what Fargo hockey is all about (which some people with an anti-Fargo agenda want so desperately to believe that it does). Hockey players (and athletes in general) tend to take their frustrations out on inanimate objects when they're disappointed in their performance, this is nothing new. Yes, it is immature to trash a locker room. I would tend to speculate that this isn't the first time a hockey team has trashed a locker room. I'm sure there have been other trashed locker rooms that we never heard about. It is very likely that some of them involved Fargo teams as well as (GASP) Grand Forks teams. Kids are kids and they're all capable of stupidity regardless what town they reside in. Anybody who thinks that this one particular incident makes Fargo hockey classless and refuses to believe that a team from their own town would ever be capable of pulling something similar is ignorant and naive. Now, again, if the kids made a mess of the locker room and the coach made them clean it up... good for the coach and I don't see why this is an issue. If there's more to it than that, then maybe it should be an issue. But, unless you were there and have some inside information, please refrain from assuming there is more to it for the sole purpose of pushing your anti-Fargo agenda.

South was just mad because they were the favorite to win and they ended up taking 4th! Haha. Maybe next year guys...and classy comment by South's coach..looks like they picked the perfect coach with the whole "South" ego.

  4. I didn't know those two fought. I wonder what their parents thought? If they were my kids I would chew their a$$es out in front of their teammates. You're never too old to be scolded by your parents.

Wow DaveK. You should maybe know something about the game of hockey before you start saying ridiculous comments. But then again your from Fargo so I get it. Why dont we talk about how South was the favorite to win state and ended up taking 4th place. And how about South trashing the lockerroom after they lost to Red River in the semi-finals! It took the Ralph staff 6 hours to clean up and good for them that they are sending a bill to Fargo South..Classless

  5. Yeah that is who I am talking about. He was hurt early in the year and has come back pretty strong since his injury.

HAHA you sure love to pump his tire Goon.

And by the way, Lang isnt even the best goalie on Central. Sorry to break it to you.

  6. After Lucia's wresting match last night and his CFB fight tonite it's easier to understand how Gopher fans think the Sioux are the cheap team.

What happend in that little skirmish tonight penalty wise? Did anyone get kicked out ? Thanks

  7. Lee will be gone period

Radke will play 4th line the whole year

    Genoway will play D

Marto will be the 7th D until someone gets hurt or what not, then once he gets his chance he will be in the line up every night

Just like when Robbie Bina was a freshman, he was in and out of the lineup the first half of the season cuz they didnt have room for him, once he got his chance he was a mainstay.

Andy Kollar was probably the last person to redshirt, him and Goehring came in the same year but Kollar redshirted.

  8. About Marto...isn't one of the reasons he is going to the USHL is to bulk up? I seem to remember him as a lanky kid who needs some weight and muscle on those bones.

Thats true, but when have we seen a player from ND go straight from highschool to DI college. Potulny and Irmen were true freshman, but they had 2 years of experience in the USHL.

  9. Hi everyone, long-time reader, first-time poster.

I have a question for everyone: What does highschool hockey in North Dakota need to do to better develop players for the next level? I mean lets take Marto from GFC for an example. Personally I think this kid is one of the best players to come out of ND in the last 10 years. He earned a scholarship to UND, but my point is it is going to take him 2 years to develop in the USHL. He wont be on campus until after his 21st b-day. In Minnesota, you see highschool seniors taking that step straight from highschool to college. What is it that they are doing better? Im not knocking North Dakota, I just want to hear some opinions. NDPride-i think you will have a good opinion for me, you are much more knowledegable about the game and ND hockey. thanks
