I've pondered Montgomery doing a "Quinn Fylling" and going back to the USHL for a season. Now find my portal forward* to come in as my insurance policy on Hain's injury.
*I had dreams of Luke Sillinger; he had dreams of ASU coeds I guess. < shrug >
Sillinger was not well liked by anyone in Bemidji. And not a great teammate either. We dodged that bullet. There's a reason he picked a team that is not in a conference.

I'll guess he goes to Duluth.

A guy that intrigues me that I never see talked about is William Lawson-Body. He performs above a point per game in the NAHL and if you look at his Twitter pretty much everything he retweets is Grand Forks related, including UND.
Good player. Not UND caliber though.

Macklin Celebrini from Shattuck Prep team signed a tender with Chicago Steel. Would have probably been #1 pick in USHL draft.
Great news for colleges as he was the #1 overall pick in WHL draft to Seattle Thunderbirds. I'm sure he is #1 recruit on our radar. 117 pts playing midget AAA as a 15 year old.

By my calcs, here is how 2021-2022 turned out:

Wasn’t Budy a pretty dynamic player last year (20-21)? I seem to remember that. If so, what happened?
No. 10 pts in 50 career games here.

College or Pro. Lots of options.

Log jam at forward. Guessing Spicer will play USHL next year.

Sam Laurila from Moorhead got an invite to the NTDP tryout camp as a Bantam AA. He was up for Pee Wee player of the year in Minnesota and now up for Bantam AA as well. Hope we're in on him!

Is his dad Tim that played for Michigan Tech?

Sanderson is hurt again. Had his hand skated over on Sat night. He'll be seeing a specialist to see if there is tendon damage. Doubtful for this weekend I'd guess.

Are any ND seniors playing Juniors after the season right now?
-
Haven't heard much about Max Strand from Roseau on this board. Just won Mr. Hockey in MN. Has 6 pts in the NAHL since HS season is over. Is there any interest?

Huh?

Lou just said he will try get him to go to UMN.

How is Wisconsin this bad? They still get great recruits. Have highly respected coaches in Granato and Oz...Bizarre to me.

Warroad has a couple really good Sophs:
Murray Marvin-Cordes (on the smaller side right now but real good. Grandson of Cal Marvin)
Ryan Lund (Defenseman - already 6'2" 190 and put up 25 pts so far)

I though I read somewhere you can download the free Kare11 app too. I'm going to try that with my Roku since I cut cable.
Don't think Kare 11 would have it. They are the NBC of the cities.

Show every recruit this quote from Connor Ford, who spent 4 years elsewhere before coming here:
"This place has been as advertised," Ford said. "It's advertised as the Mecca of College Hockey and that's certainly what I've experienced."- 3

If you are honestly mad about the contract extension, just know there are at least 55 other college programs who would gladly take BB.
We are in good hands. Glad they locked him down. He's a top 5 college hockey coach and his assistants are top notch also.

What are the terms of the deal?

Does Mitchell Miller get a chance to play college hockey? He is having a fantastic season so far.
Someone will take a chance. I'd guess he goes out east.

Cade Littler to MSU Mankato. Big loss for us.

Does anyone know what exactly happened between UND and Morrow/Rizzo? No one has ever found out those details. I don't believe we ever dropped either of them....
For Ryder Donovan and Mitchell Mattson, UND told them to both go play a year of juniors, they didn't agree, and both turned out to be bad college players because of it.
Jake Marto was supposed to arrive 2006-07, but was told we want you to play another year of juniors. He was bummed, but instead of complaining, he had a valuable year in the USHL as a 20 year old then stepped into UND ready to play 2007-08, rather that sit in the stands.
For Spicer, obviously it would be hard if your other 22 teammates are all headed to college next year and you are told to go play in the USHL, but you have to think long term. Look at Adam Scheel as a great recent example. Worked out great for him (BCHL).
