Breck as in the Minneapolis suburb...
-
If Minot has less things to do then Grand Forks, I am never going there!
I heard on the Big Dogs this morning that Grand Forks rated second in the nation in binge drinking. Maybe it was a April fools joke, maybe not! Most of the towns on the list were in the upper midwest and were college towns...
-
Good joke...i almost believed it but i expected something like that today. Did anyone hear the April Fools joke on xl93 this morning with Parise. That was a good one.
I thought it was kinda lame. Does anyone think that Pat Burns would tolerate being on hold all that time for some dinky radio station?
-
The funny part is the people getting up set about it. Of course it was an April Fool's joke. Do not take anything seriously today, everyone should have learned that a long time ago. April Fool's has almost been over done, kinda like Zach Parise and Pat Burns appearing on XL 93 this morning! Like we did not realize that it was all a prank! (But that did not stop at least one person from calling in)

I don't follow. It seems like resurrecting a program is a better accomplishment and more worthy of the HB award than failing to live up to expectations, as you imply ZP did in your post.
I was not trying to imply that ND and Parise were not good, because they were very good. The point is that no one is surprised that ND was ranked #1 for a good part of the year and that Parise had a good number of points. What I mean is that Duluth came out of the cellar to be very good this year. Everyone expected them to be good, but probably not this good!
-
Winning the HB is not just about what you do on the ice, it is what you do off of it, too! What has Lessard done off the ice? Well, besides almost drowning in Lake Superior? Parise was the MVP of the WJC and is an ambassador for college hockey. When Lessard wins it, I am going to be dissappointed because he is winning it because he helped ressurect UMD. Parise and ND, on the other hand, were supposed to be good...

He finished by saying that, after BU's new arena is finished, North Dakota would have the best arena in the West, and BU the best arena in the East -- without saying which one he thought would be best overall.... (Of course, I drilled him on .... "Will there be leather seats?" "No." "Marble floors?" "No." "TV's in the bathrooms?" etc., etc.) It was fun meeting him.
He did not say which one is better because he know the REA is better...

I wonder how JPar is taking it. I'd think it would be exciting to win an NC with little bro.
And all this happens when JPar was finding his groove. I hope he retains it over the off season....
Just think of it this way, if JPar wins a NC at ND, he has done something that his brother did not do!
-
The Devils still have two more games left during the season, though; he can get his feet wet then!
-
Bochenski, Murray, and Genoway - Bo scores the goals, Murray is the playmaker and Genoway grinds it out!
-
So when is he coming to ND?
-
I am still waiting for Yahoo to add him so i can pick Zach up for my fantasy team!
-
I usually do not pull for a team that knocks out the team that I cheer for, but if Denver beats Duluth, I will cheer for them. Duluth is still my favorite though in this, but if Denver can beat North Dakota, they can certainly beat any of the three teams in the FF. I would really like to see Duluth win it all for the first time, though.

It's amazing how different you play when you know there's no one to 'save the bacon' but you.
I hate to say it, but Parise leaving could be a good thing! Other members of the team will have to step up and fill his skates and that is going to take at least two players to do! Maybe next year some of the seniors will step it up and take ND to the Frozen Four!
-
This is going to be very funny if Parise does not go pro, and I bet XL 93 is going to get a lot of hate mail, too!
-
It is very sad to see Zach go, if he is! But if he goes, I am going to add him to my fantasy hockey team!
-
This team was loaded with talent, but it appears to me that some of the uppr classmen on the team were invisible this year, notably Massen and Canady! Massen had a great year last year but where was he this year. Canady to was not a very big part of the team. I heard an interview with him saying that he was better then some of the players on the team that were starting more often then he was; he said he was better because he had more points in the juniors then ohters did. Well, this is not the juniors Canady! With the depth that this team had, ND should not have had to depend on Parise and Bochenski as much as it did and where would we be without freshmen like Murray, Porter, and Stafford? If these guys want to play and win a national title, they need to perform to the levels that they were brought in to play. No one is just going to hand ND the title, they have to go out and earn it! North Dakota fans have very high expectations! The McNaughton was cool to win, but we want national titles! I felt sick when ND lost to Denver, the returning players better remember that feeling next year. I figured that they would have learned thier lesson against Ferris State last year, but I guess not...
-
They were just saving those goals that they did not score last night for the Frozen Four!
-
So much for experts!! Maybe they have finally figured things out and picked a western school to win it.
They did, four of the "experts" picked North Dakota and one picked UM...
-
Granted it is still early in the game, but I am glad that I am one of the 3% of the people that picked Harvard to win this one at this point!
-
Roche did not play in a playoff game though...
-
Bochenski has passed Lessard and has a three point lead on him at the moment in the fan voting...
-
All the work to get into the Final Five this year, and next year UAA will probably fall on its ass again!
-
Three of the six picked the four No. 1 seeds, how booring is that? I am surprised that UMD was only picked once and that BC was picked by everyone, but once and that no one picked New Hampshire. The Gophers are in playoff mode, but UMD is a force to be reckoned with. I think BC will blow it in the second round, probably to New Hampshire. At least 4 out of 6 picked North Dakota to win it all!
... and there was at least one upset special that I picked, too! Harvard over Maine and OSU over UW!
