  1. I don't see UNO going D1. In Nebraska, Nebraska Lincoln is king and UNO would be the red headed step child of the state, (which it probably already is). UNO would never get anything for football recruits except Nebraska cast offs and would be considered a lesser school in all aspects. They are better of staying DII and being a powerhouse there instead of what they would become as a DI school...

  2. Can someone tell me why in the NHL article on Toews' being picked 3rd, that they say "He doesn't know if he'll play in Chicago or FARGO next year."?

Why, more discrimination against UND because of thier use of the Fighting Sioux nickname and logo...

  3. As a person of Norwegian descent, I like the idea of the Fighting Norskies! What better mascot would there be then a marauding berserker? But the North Dakota Binge Drinkers works, too. GF was #2 in that category and the state is #1! That is an accurate depiction of our state! Are Binge Drinkers hostile and abusive? Fighting Cavalry is good, too! What a great name to switch to, it goes from one side of the battle to the other!

On a serious note, what about Roughriders?

  4. I just watched the interview with Carle on espn news. He has done alright so far with the sharks. I believe he has 2 goals and 3 assists through six games. Congrats to Carle. Next year it will be T.J. BAKER.

You mean they won't just give it to Kessel because of all of the hype around him... :)

  5. I sit in the upper level during the season, but sat in the lower level for the regional and I prefer the upper level. We can see the entire ice much better from up there while we could not see much along the near boards while in the lower lever, especially on the far end of the ice. Though the atmosphere in the lower level is much better then in the upper level. I think I talked more hockey with the people around me last weekend then I have since the REA opened up. If I could choose any seat in the arena, I would be first row upper level!

  6. I don't pull for the Gophers, but it would be great if Ryan Potulny were to win the HB.

I find it hard to believe he deserves it anymore after Friday. I watched him not put extra effort in to pull in the puck in the HC zone. Instead, he let a HC player pick it up and the end result was an OT goal. If he would have put in more effort, he could have at least prevented the HC player from easily gaining control of the puck and maybe the gophers would have won.

  7. If they go totally neutral - they get 1/2 the attendance. Semi neutral, like the X and what we saw in Green Bay this weekend is a joke if they think that is fair to all teams.

The only truely neutral venues would be ST. Loius, California, and FLorida, but how many college fans are going to travel that far and how many locals are going to go? Grand FOrks just proved how much better regionals are in attendance when in college hockey towns.

  8. I'd still go to the other game no matter who was playing it! I enjoy college hockey and don't get to see enough of it! In addition, the regional is a good chance to see teams I have never seen play before live! That was the best thing about UND playing Michigan to me, if I made of list at teams that I would like to see UND play, Michigan would be at the top of the list!

  9. The wraparound goal by by Toews in the first period was #6 on Sports Center's plays of the day.

It's good to see college hockey get some good publicity! The HC overtime goal was #4, I believe on Friday!

  10. Does anyone else think that the NCAA will find a way or a loophole so that REA can host another regional? This regional had to be one of the most, if not the most successful ever and I would think the NCAA would find a way even if their own rules say UND won't be allowed to host again.

Yeah, once the NCAA sees how much $$$ they can make off the playoffs games at UND, it wouldn't surprise me to see thier attitude change a little. I mean, what is one of the big motivators for the NC$$?

  11. Hopefully, the home crowd will dial it up about five levels from the sometimes

ho-hum regular season siestas. At least many of the people

who go to see and to be seen will, hopefully, not be taking up any

    empty chairs.

    .

Considering the fans at the game will be ones that purchased tickets and did not recieve them from a season ticket holder, I expect the crowd to to be louder and rowdier then normal home games. Those type of fans that sit on thier hands during the season won't want to play the price for the tickets for these games.

  12. I'd rather see Michigan, mainly because I have been looking forward to seeing schools I have never seen play before. Which makes it kinda dissapointing to see Min and BC probably coming and I would rather see BSU then Holy Cross, though...
