  1. Nope, the more the merrier! Hopper, Hopper's friend (goalie), WildSioux, brianvf and his friend, Wantagh, Bacardio, 747Guy, morley, Mory00, Nathan, and Fire Chartreuse Musky Killer. Are you in Scott? Your people are calling.
  2. Hopper, Hopper's friend (goalie), WildSioux, brianvf and his friend, Wantagh, Bacardio, 747Guy, morley, Mory00, and Nathan. I added two more to the list. How many people are going to be playing hung over if you play on Saturday? Brian, I have a pair of breezers, shoulder pads, and a stick that my stepdad gave me in case I ever learn how to play. Your friend can borrow them if they fit. They're his son's old ones. I don't know about a helmet or gloves though.
  3. I was told that it's good to have at least 10 players plus a goalie on the team, and so far it looks like we have 8 players plus a goalie. We still need a few more! Hopper, Hopper's friend (goalie), WildSioux, brianvf and his friend, Wantagh, Bacardio, 747Guy, and morley. It would probably be good to set a date, too.
  4. I would just like to point out that I have officially won Coach Blais over, seeing as how much he appreciates his female fans. Maybe I should hit him up for a job in a couple years. The team could always use an occupational therapist, right?
  5. We're not going to win all the games, and we'd rather lose now than in the playoffs. Joking about trying to rationalize a home loss to Tech. Blais looks up at the scoreboard and sees the shots are 12-2 UND after Tech scores, and right away he thinks "oh no." He lost confidence right there. There are some players who haven't had much playing time or who haven't played up to their ability lately, and you have to work hard in practice in order to play well in games. Practice through November is a 2 hour practice, then it goes down to 1 1/2 hours, and now they're practicing for 1 hour and 15 minutes. When CC stumbles, UND wants to be right on their tail, and they did when they split with MN. The race isn't over yet, and although losing to Tech was a setback, UND is still in the race. CC has some tough games left yet, and they're not going to run the table. If they play .500 hockey, UND has to win all the rest of their games. CB says the question is how good are we without David Hale, and obviously the team isn't too good. The team has been playing without him for a couple weeks now, though, so it's not as big of a factor as it was in Colorado, although the team isn't the same without him. Spiewak and Notermann are happy to be back on a line together, and Parise is being moved to a wing with Lundbohm centering. CB jokes that Parise can play goalie if he wanted to, he's that good, so playing on his off wing won't make a difference. Lundbohm is pretty jacked to be playing with 2 of the best players in the country. CB says GO WITH THE PLAYERS THAT ARE GOING TO WIN and stay with them now. (that was for UNDLaw's benefit. ) Denver coach (not going to try his name) isn't trying for the WCHA title right now, so he needs to work on resting his players for the post season right now. My call pretty much took up the rest of the show. Basically, Blais doesn't label his goaltender's 1, 2, or 3, and he prefers female hockey fans to male hockey fans. A lot of the times which goalie plays is a gut feeling, sometimes you're right, sometimes you're wrong. I'll let PCM fill in the rest.
  6. Not everyone needs flashy numbers to be considered the most valuable player on their team, or worthy of the Hobey Baker. A big part of the success of this year's team is due to the play and leadership of two particular senior players, IMO.
  7. I was wondering if that was you. So the team is Hopper, Hopper's friend (goalie), WildSioux, brianvf and his friend, Wantagh, Bacardio, 747Guy, and morley....so far. EDIT: I added 747Guy
  8. I have no clue what day this would be on. I was thinking Wednesday, the day before the FF starts, would be a good day to play, but I don't know if people have to work or not. KBG? The Sioux roster has expanded to Hopper, Hopper's friend (goalie), WildSioux, brianvf, Brian A and his friend, Wantagh, and Bacardio. I guess I would say anyone is invited to play, but I also am not the one who is going to be embarassed. So unless everybody else objects, Wantagh and Bacardio, keep us posted if these people are going to play so we have an idea of how many people will be there. dagies, that's ok, you can sit in the stands with me and heckle.
  9. Sounds like we got a decent goalie. I'll be sure to bring my game face and heckle the POIer's.
  10. Thanks for letting me know KBG. So far for the Sioux team it looks like we have Hopper, WildSioux, and brianvf (all forwards?). A while ago dagies, Goon, U2Bad1, Wantagh, roper1313, mksiuox, BigGreyAnt41, morely, Diggler, and Bacardio said they would be interested in playing. Does anyone know someone who can play goalie? I know someone mentioned Wilbur.
  11. I think Josh had 16 saves. It was definitely the best he's looked all season, and I'm glad to see he's pulling out of his slump. I think people give him too hard of a time.
  12. Men. I'd be willing to organize the game, as long as people commit so that I get paid back for renting the ice. I'm just a poor college student you know. If you know you're going to be in Minneapolis for the Final Five and would like to get together for a game, just e-mail me at nimiller8@hotmail.com. Give me your name, which team you'd be playing for, and what position you play so that I have an idea of how many players each team will have. I think there was a Duluth fan who mentioned playing for the Sioux team....anyone would be welcome of course. And remember, if you play for the Sioux team you get me as a cheerleader, so sign up!
  13. Oh that is priceless!
  14. I always thought that was just a matter of how they store the zambonis. If one zamboni is stored in front of the other, then it would be the first one on the ice, and the last one off the ice. I highly doubt it's a case of being the #1 zamboni driver and wanting to have the most ice time. Of course, I could be wrong.
  15. Why does the WCHA have such a high number of Olympic sized rinks compared to other leagues? With how strict the NCAA rules are about everything else, I would only have assumed that when new rinks are built, they would be required to install a certain size ice. It doesn't make sense to me.
  16. David Hale Here is the article PCM wrote about Hale for USCHO. Thanks for the info, as I'm sure everyone is concerned about his health.
  17. You are most welcome. I am happy to be of assistance. I agree with your last statement. I really hope for his own sake that David can recover soon, and that this isn't anything serious.
  18. That's ok. Unfortunately, the world does not revolve around me. Besides, with my luck with computers, I should know by now to copy what I type before doing anything with it.
  19. Well, I don't know about PCM, but I had the coach's show summary all typed up, went to submit it, and I couldn't because some updates were being made to the board. Somehow in there I lost all my words, so this is just from my mushy, overworked memory. The same caller who asked Assistant Coach Berry a couple weeks ago about new goaltenders called in tonight to ask Blais if they were looking at bringing someone in besides Sedevie and Lamaroux. CB says no, Jake is playing well right now, and Siembida played all right considering he hasn't played in 6 weeks. Another caller asked if Sedevie was going to be redshirted next year, and CB said no. Caller asks how many goalies one team can have, and CB laughs and says lots. Ranfranz has played well in the chances he's gotten and plays well in practice. Jake has been playing well, and he may have let in one bad goal last weekend, but it certainly didn't lose the game. Siembida has been working with Craig ?, who used to be a goaltender and volunteered to come in and work with the goalies. Siembida has been looking better since then. Caller asks if next year will be the first year that the team will have more goalies than forwards. More laughs. They went on and talked about the series with CC and the upcoming series with Tech a bit. These upcoming points are crucial for UND. CB figures the team needs to go 7-3 in order to catch up with CC and maintain 2nd place. Tech is just loose as can be right now, and they're just sitting back and smiling for this weekend. UND needs 4 points. There is still talk amongst the team about staying undefeated at home this year. CB thinks CC could be the best team in the nation right now, but in two months, who knows. Right now they have Cullen, and Cullen boys are always talented and work hard. They have Senja, who has a good chance at winning the Hobey, and they found a surprise in good goaltending, which was a bit of a question mark at the beginning of the year. CB thinks that goaltending was a big factor in the series with CC. UND outshot them in the 3rd period something like 15-7, and their goalie came up with some great saves. The second period was just a wash with all the penalties. The top players were tired from playing on special teams all night, and it slowed down the game. A caller asked if CC is hitting a peak, and CB said it happens and is certainly possible. He also doesn't think the Sioux have hit their peak yet. There have been times where CB thought they could beat anyone in the nation, but they are still showing signs of improvement and areas in need of improvement. This team was expected to be better than last year, but no one expected to be 4th in the nation. The next few years could be really good. Caller mentions he would like to see CC win the next few games in a row, then go lax. The coaches thought that the R. Hale, Spiewak, and McMahon line could create a spark for the series, and they didn't, which in part was due to the line they were matched up against. They just got outplayed. Genoway's line, however, played very well against Senja's line. Senja didn't get one shot off against them, and CB said it was too bad because that line should have played more last weekend than they did because they were playing so well. Tim says that with David Hale playing, the team earns at least a split. (I wasn't sure if he was talking about at CC, or just in general.) He is the heart and soul of the team, and if not the MVP, then pretty close. It hurt the team mentally as well as physically to have him suddenly out of the lineup. Also talked about how it was hard to adjust so suddenly when the team learned Hale wouldn't be playing, and that this week they will be prepared to play without him, because he definitely won't be playing Friday, and possibly not Saturday. The team doctor and trainer are going to look at him, and say hey you lost 12-13 pounds, you're not playing. Right now they just want him to get healthy. Blais is going to bring up to the NCAA this year that all college rinks should have a standardized size. He's expecting a lot of people to be upset about that one. There was some joking that hey, maybe they'll build a rink next year that's only 75 feet. CB says the Sioux are a good skating team, and he doesn't think the big ice hinders the team, but it can slow the game down a bit, and you don't want stay at home defensemen like Greene and Leinweber carrying the puck in the neutral zone. Their job is to get it up to the forwards. CC's defensemen are more offensive and carry the puck more into their zone. That's all I can remember for now. This is TOTALLY just from my memory, so no quoting me visiting fans.
  20. I guess I was just thinking people wanted to get together while everyone was in Minneapolis for the Final Five. If that's not the case, maybe whoever's idea this was should come up with a date. Besides, the SIOUX don't need practice. There's already no hope for the POIer's.
  21. Yeah yeah yeah. My crush on Durno is completely normal and healthy. Best Buy just sucks. You may be jealous of my younger, faster fingers, but you still have the reporting experience.
