  5. where did you hear that?
  6. drinking season? hah, there arent seasons to drink! drink whenever....whatever...as long as it does the job!!!
  7. oh wow, moderation? i hope that was sarcastic :-D we DO live in grand forks, home of UND, the #2 binge drinking school in the nation. since we dont cheer in moderation, lets not drink in moderation!!
  8. this is rediculous
  9. haha whats that supposed to mean :-P
  10. some people seem to just have sticks up their a**es about him comin back possibly. PEOPLE!! JUST ADMIT AT LEAST THERE IS A CHANCE INSTEAD OF BEING MOOD KILLERS!!!
  11. after a personal conversation with Brady Murray online since he has been in Switzerland, I can easily address that. He didnt leave cause of the amount of money offered. he said he left because of the fact that the rules of drafting were changing in switzerland, dealing with whether you were actually swiss born, your parents, etc. although it does come down to the fact that if he was considered a full swiss citizen by birth in the old rules, if he waited another year, he would have not fallen under that classification. the irony here is, it DOES come down to money. as a swiss citizen he would get paid more than a non-citizen player. so, therefore, directly, it wasnt an issue of money, it was an issue of availability and timing. indirectly, yes it was a money issue, but not directly. so you can take it whichever way you want i guess haha. but yeah, that is his story.
  12. i think the lesson here is, everyone needs to just shut up about who MIGHT do what, and just let things happen.
  13. for the record, "JPar" already went on record saying officially he wasnt leaving. as far as staffy is concerned....who knows. we have yet to find out. it will be determined eventually. it is alot of money. he'll prolly go for it. but you never know. id just rather keep that little light od him possibly comin back alive. the reason i was asking wher you are from is because there are a good amount of people on her who are from, say, ohio, or arizona, or florida to name a few in particular, who arent around the environment we are up here and wouldnt get the chance to interact personally. knowing that you have interacted with them, i respect the fact that you got the same facts as i did. and if 2 out of 3 said they were staying and left, then of course, we are gonna think the 3rd will too. and he prolly will. no one is trying to begrudge their dreams. just wishing they would have stuck around.
  14. as far as i can tell, it applies to all incoming players. im not sure on the specifics though.
  15. lol i think someone just wants staffy out. otherwise, you wouldnt be so keen to give up on the possibility of him coming back. let me ask you something. where are you from? because i live in Grand Forks, go to school at UND, and had a class with drew last semester. he said then that he didnt think he was gonna leave. i nkow its been a while since then, but you never know. now, please, enough with the crappy mood about him ok? at least until it is announced officially, IF it is announced officially.
  16. yeah, i think our hatred for the fact that he is leaving is outweighing our dissapointment at this point. he prolly will leave, but, hell, lets just act like he isnt for now. i mean, at this moment, as far as we know, he isnt leaving. nothing is signed, or official, so yeah.
  17. no clips, but i do have 3 pics that i took. they arent the best, but they are better than nothing. there is one very good one of radke with his arm back ready to punch one guy.
  18. "respectfully", would you be kind enough to look up those figs for me? wait......here it is.... There are no more $900,000 signing bonuses. 2004 Draft Picks can receive the maximum $688,940 in the first two years of the contract, and $984,200 in the third year under the terms of the NHL Collective Bargaining Agreement. In addition to salary, players can receive a signing bonus of $590,520, to be paid in the first two years of the contract, and has the potential to earn the maximum entry-level performance bonuses, totaling $850,000 per year.
  19. yeah, well, the source also said that he would be signing a $900,000 contract, which is bogus cause the NHL doesnt have that high of contracts anymore for incoming players, its down near $650,000...so go figure, i wont trust THE SOURCE untill drew, UND, or NHL says it officially, it isnt official.
  20. just a thought.....since drew went out of town for the World Championships, dont u think that there wouldnt have been a way for him to go to Buffalo first to sign a contract with the NHL? and also, if he HAD signed a contract already, dont you think we would have heard about it by now?
  21. I am from NC. anyone know where in NC ZBJ is going to school right now?
  22. just so you guys know, as far as i can tell, no one is giving Smaby any s&!t. i liked smaby. he was a great player, as were many players on the team, and he was a good captain. personally, from knowing drew, and knowing personally his good attitude and work ethic, i would like to see him as Captain. i think he would be a great replacement of Smaby. but smaby did a great job.
  23. yea, thats what i meant. lineback, sure, he was good in DII football. but, the NFL is no NCAA DII football. he would get creamed and hurt badly. special teams seems like a good fit.
  24. exactly
  25. yeah i dont want him to either. bottiom line, it will suck if he does. i want to see all those people who already gave up on him coming back to scramble to re-do their line predictions for next season if he decids to come back. its sad that so many people have already given up on such a great guy, and a great leader. with as good an attitude as drew has, I would have to peg him as one of the best all around players to ever come out of UND. i hate to see the possibility of him going, but, life is life, its what u do.
