carolina in 5, if not 4......conklin/markkanen just arent good enough
-
back to back penalties on edmonton....damn, now the second one negated by carolina.....DAMN...AND NOW ANOTHER PENALTY ON CAROLINA...... wow, 4 straight penalties....thats rediculous
-
but carolina has a strong showing on the road. they can get it done when they need to no matter where at. and they are a very very deep team. i think carolina pulls it out in 5. max 6

i like matt cause i got to watch him play last year at my first year at UND. but i am from NC, so i am a huge canes fan.....so go commy!!...... and just to remind some poeple......matt got a DWI at UND in that last season he played......obviously the NHL didnt care.....do they ever take those kinda things into consideration?

i dont care if Kupchela IS an ex-military guy, i have dealt with him on a few issues, including one VERY large issue a few months ago, and, for those reasons, there is a good reason myself and a lot of people i know call him Kup-cake.

Carolina may be relying mostly on Ward, but remember that when Laviolette replaced ward with Gerber in Game 3, and then started him in games 4 and 5 he didnt give up a single goal until the 1st period of game 5: about 4 straight periods without a goal given up. so its not like they dont have a great goalie jic ward crumbles again. but the great thing about ward is, if he does crumble, which he rarely has, he gets right back in there and is amazing again. I bring your attention to when he came in and relieved Gerber in game 5.

as am I. after watching the canes get so close in 2002, the sioux get so close in 2004-2005, and again in 2005-2006, i want someone who deserves it to win!!! Canes in 5

i just got back home to North Carolina, and holy crap the "Caniacs" are going wild. And not just for the Canes, but for Commodore too. So many fans go for the big red fro and white robe at the games. The announcers really love him too. Its great to see this kinda respect for a former Sioux player in the NHL. Last night i was at a local bar, and they showed highlights from the San Jose-Edmonton game, and I saw Greene on there when Edmonton scored. I was there with a few friends and started telling them about how I got to see him play on MY college team last year, and now on the Oilers. A lot of the guys at the bar began to listen, some asking questions about the school and team, and some had at least heard of us. I went on to talk about Stafford, Zajac, and Smaby, and how i watched these guys play this year, and most likely will see them all next year playing for their respective NHL teams. I also talked about Parise, Hale, Commy, and Blake being ex-Sioux players. It was my first time to get to talk about my college hockey team, and everything it produces in a setting like that down here. It was pretty much a greatly proud moment to know people were so interested (drunk or not haha). On another note, i bought my little brother (16) one of the t-shirts from the Frozen Four. He wore it to his high school on Monday, and his band teacher told him he was a "brave man" for wearin that shirt, cause of all the controversy. I went to the school to bum around, cause i went there for high school too, and figured I'd drop by his band teacher's office. I talked to him for a while about the controversy going on, and was surprised to find out how much he knew about it all, including about the Sioux nickname. Its amazing to come down here and see more and more people who know about the school, or the team. It makes me even more proud of my former school.

HOLY CRAP he is isnt he.....ok, sorry, it was like 8am, i got to bed at 4.....been up since 7.....not runnin on the most pistons right now lol. i left out Vandevelde If Vandevelde comes, which now that i think about it could be a good possibility, with 1 year of juniors behind him, he would probably be good for second line. So here is my revised projected depth chart Duncan, Toews, Porter Vandevelde, Oshie, Kozek Zajac, Kaip, Fabian Miller, Trupp, Watkins -

definitely keep Toews and Duncan together. I was talkin to Jon one day and he said Duncan and Stafford with him was most likely the best line he has ever been on, chemistry-wise (skill wise, i think its obvious anyways lol). Since Drew is gone, just fill in the slot. Duncan and Toews are an incredible pair there, and completing the line with an older player like Porter would be in the best interest of the team: Young guns at the front, complimented by experience and leadership on one wing. Duncan, Toews, Porter Fabian, Oshie, Kozek Zajac, Watkins, La Point Miller, Trupp, Martens not that i know much about lines, but i think the first 2 lines on there are pretty much the general consensus. What about the last 2 lines i have? any pointers? insight? -
no one's really crying, lol....its just sad that he is leaving. but since he is from europe and he has (what i assume to be) a beautiful fiance waiting at home for him, and he can most definitely play hockey there, and make money, there is no reason for him to stay. im gonna miss sparky, i thought he was one of the best point-men on the team in the last 2 years. but, to add insult to my own injury, i saw him again today, and he was with Smaby. Thats the second time i have seen him since i heard the news, and the 4th time i have seen Smaby since the news of his signing, neither of which i ever saw off the ice in the 2 years ive been here before then. so, oh well. i take my last week at UND and try to make the best of it. So long Smaby, Zajac, Spirko, and Stafford. Good luck in your careers. p.s. the same for Prpich and Marvin.
