That's cool you made it out. Nick Mattson is probably the best U.S. d-men in his age group. The festival concluded today, Nick finished with 3 points in 5 games, here are the top scorers, http://www.usahockey.com/Season/TopScorers...DivisionID=1359
-
I forgot to mention that Nick Mattson is competing in the festival so it would be a good chance to go see him. Keep in mind that he is just using it as practice, he can't be invited to play for the team that goes overseas because he plays for the NTDP.

They're usually always at the 15, 16, and 17's. I would highly recommend going if you like watching prospective players.

The USA Hockey Select 17 Festival starts tommorow in St. Cloud. You can follow the camp here, http://www.usahockey.com/Season/Tournament...DivisionID=1359

The U.S. National Select 17 Team was named today. They will compete overseas in August, here is the roster, http://www.usahockey.com/uploadedFiles/USA...t/U17Roster.doc

First off, like Sioux Hab It said, the Canadian team is stacked. Even a first round draft pick like Travis Zajac didn't even make that team. As for our U.S. players, asside from Kristo, I don't think that we have a real blue chip recruit. Not saying that our U.S. players aren't good, but it isn't really a blue chip class of players like we had in 03 and 05.

Stafford and Porter also and in 09 Bruneteau.

The Select 16's concluded yesterday, here are the final stats and the top 50 forwards (point production), http://www.usahockey.com/Season/TopScorers...ahockeytype=ICE

The USA Hockey Select 16 Festival starts on Saturday and runs through next Friday. To view the rosters you can click on each team and go to player info, here is the link, http://www.usahockey.com/Season/Tournament...AgeDivisionID=2 For any locals, I believe there are a few kids from ND in this tourney.
-
Red Wings fan here also, it's all speculation but I believe TSN predicted them to take this kid, http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app?dpid=215&pa...age&tab=vid

I haven't heard any specific details yet, but I've said this earlier, sometimes college recruits will attend a Major Junior League camp with no intention of leaving college. Sam Lofquist (Gopher recruit) did this last year, here is the story on that, http://gopherpuck.blogspot.com/2007/09/don...bout-lofty.html
-
Just got it confirmed, Joe is coming back.

The Clarke situation is unfortunate, but you can't win them all. The Model Camp, which is held at Mariucci and Rider arena starts tommorow and runs through Saturday. This is one of the premier summer showcase tournaments and brings scouts from all over (including our coaches and I would imagine they will attend again this year). Here is the link for the rosters and the game schedule is below, http://www.luciacamps.com/rosters.php Monday, June 9, 2008 - Practice Day 8:30AM Teams 1-2 Mariucci Arena 2:30 Teams 1-2 Mariucci 8:30AM Teams 7-8 Ridder Arena 2:30 Teams 7-8 Ridder 10:30AM Teams 3-4 Mariucci Arena 4:30 Teams 3-4 Mariucci 10:30AM Teams 9-10 Ridder Arena 4:30 Teams 9-10 Ridder 12:30PM Teams 5-6 Mariucci Arena 6:30 Teams 5-6 Mariucci 12:30PM Teams 11-12 Ridder Arena 6:30 Teams 11-12 Ridder Tuesday, June 10, 2008 - Practice & Game Day 8:30AM Teams 10-12 Mariucci Arena 2:30 Teams 10-12 Mariucci Arena 8:30AM Teams 4-6 Ridder Arena 2:30 Teams 4-6 Ridder Arena 10:30AM Teams 8-11 Mariucci Arena 4:30 Teams 8-11 Mariucci Arena 10:30AM Teams 1-3 Ridder Arena 4:30 Teams 1-3 Ridder Arena 12:30PM Teams 7-9 Mariucci Arena 6:30 Teams 7-9 Mariucci Arena 12:30PM Teams 2-5 Ridder Arena 6:30 Teams 2-5 Ridder Arena Wednesday, June 11, 2008 - Game Day 9:00

From what I was informed soon after Garret committed here, one of the reasons he committed so early was because he wanted to inform the QMJHL teams that he was 100% going to college. We can only hope he lives up to that reasoning. Also, like I mentioned above, just because he is at the tryout this weekend doesn't necessarily mean that he is going there.
-
Sometimes this stuff can happen. Sam Lofquist (Gopher recruit) did this last summer with the OHL.
-
For anyone interested and lives in the Twin Cities area, you can watch Garret Clarke this weekend as he will be participating in the Fargo Force tryout camp. He will be playing for Team Black, here is the schedule, http://www.fargoforce.com/team/try-out-information/
-
For anyone interested, you can watch Mike Cichy this weekend as Tri-City holds their camp at the Bloomington Ice Gardens. Here is their schedule, Friday: 5:30-8:45 p.m. - Rink 1 Saturday: 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. - Rink 1 5:30-8:30 p.m. - Rink 1 Sunday: 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. - Rink 1 2:00 - 3:30 p.m. - Rink 1 Also, Danny Kristo and Corey Fienhage are headed to the NHL combine this weekend. Good luck to them and hopefully they can make a good impression.
-
The reasons were not because of on ice ability.
-
We didn't offer him and hardly even recruited him.
-
The USHL updated their USA 92's list yesterday. Some of these kids may have been drafted today, but most will be drafted in the futures draft in the fall or next years entry draft, http://www.ushl.com/centralscouting/DraftListUSA92.cfm

Cretin Durham Hall defenseman Mark Alt committed to Minnesota. We did recruit this kid. On another note, the Central District named the players that will participate in the national Select Festivals this summer. We do recruit a good amount of kids from the Central District (including some on our team right now), here are the rosters, http://www.usahockey.com/uploadedFiles/USA...PDSelectees.pdf
-
It was a situation where the kid was close to committing and backed out and is waiting. It happens many times in the recruiting stage.

This weekend is the 93 Prospects College Cup Showcase Tournament in Toronto. I was informed that our coaches were up there for the 92 prospects back on April 4-6, so I would imagine they would be at this one. Here are the rosters for this weekend, http://www.prospectstourney.com/Rosters%20...20Schedules.xls Here are the rosters from the 92 tourney a few weeks ago that our coaches were at, http://www.prospectstourney.com/Rosters%20...20Schedules.xls
