Thanks for posting about the tournament, I didn't get a notice about it this week. I would imagine that were looking at a few of these kids, here are the rosters for the tourney, http://www.hockeycanada.ca/2/5/0/2/5/index1.shtml On another note, Minnesota Hockey names their Select 17 National list that will compete in the festival this summer. Many of these guys are already committed, but I would imagine that were looking at a few of these players, here is the roster, http://www.minnesotahockey.org/assorted/Bo...2017%20List.pdf

From what I understand about the types of players our coaches recruit, I don't think they would take a gamble on a kid that is not supposed to be a team player or liked by his teammates. From everything that I have heard, he just has some flaws in his game that he needs to improve on.

Minnesota Hockey announced their Select 16 team that will compete in the national festival in June. Here is the link to the roster, http://www.minnesotahockey.org/assorted/Bo...2016%20List.pdf

Mike will be a good player for UND whether he is drafted or not, but coming from some good sources he has some flaws in his game which he needs to work on. Although I think he will be a very good foward in the long run, I don't think he is going to come in here next year and "skate circles" like some fans on here may think.

He was the leading goal scorer on the NTDP 18U team this year. It has nothing to do with his on ice ability, Kristo just simply didn't accelerate his education and therefore is not eligible next year.

This weekend is the 1991 USHL showcase, which is held at 7 Bridges Ice Arena in Chicago. Here is the schedule and rosters, http://www.ushl.com/centralscouting/Showca...091schedule.pdf http://www.ushl.com/centralscouting/Showca...9091rosters.pdf

As expected, Zach Parise was added to the Men's National Team.
-
Kristo with no points in a 3-1 loss to Russia. They play Sweeden for the bronze on Wednesday.
-
Sioux City forward Joey Miller committed to Minnesota, we did recruit this kid.
-
He's not in the class of John, but as long as he heels from his injury it wouldn't make sense to send him to juniors.
-
Kristo with the game winner and an assist in a 4-3 win over Finland. They play Germany on Sunday.
-
Kristo with zero points in a 5-4 loss to Sweeden. They play Finland on Friday. Also, the Doyle Cup between Hextall and MacWilliam starts on Friday. It's a different format, the first two games are at Camrose, and if there is a sweep in the first two games, then the next five games are in Penticton, but if there is a split then Camrose is granted a third home game, and the last four are in Penticton. In the USHL playoffs, Lincoln swept there first round series with Gregoire leading at 5 points. Indiana is down 2-1 in their series, and they play on Friday. Blood has 3 points in 3 games so far, and Fienhage has zero in 2 games. Waterloo plays tonight and they have 2-0 lead, so a win tonight would sweep their series. Fink has only played in one game and has zero points.

Not sure if this was posted elsewhere, but congrats to Matt Greene and Drew Stafford for being named to the 2008 U.S. Men's National Team, which will compete in the IIHF World Championships in a few weeks. Hopefully they can bring home the gold, here is the roster, http://www.usahockey.com/uploadedFiles/USA...amp/roster3.doc As expected, Toews also made Team Canada.

There are a few recruiting tournaments gong on this weekend. The first is the 1992 USHL showcase, which is held at 7 Bridges Ice Arena in Chicago. Here is the schedule and rosters, http://www.ushl.com/centralscouting/Showca...-92schedule.pdf http://www.ushl.com/centralscouting/Showca...8-92rosters.pdf The USA Hockey Minnesota Advanced Select 16 and 17 festivals are taking place at Plymouth Ice Center. Remember that this is the final 54 roster, after this weekend they trim it down to 20 which is the roster they use for the national select festival in the summer. Here is the schedule and rosters for both tournaments, http://www.minnesotahockey.org/assorted/Bo...0Final%2054.pdf http://www.minnesotahockey.org/assorted/Bo...0Final%2054.pdf The Midwest Exposure Elite Tournament is taking place at Shattuck this weekend. U.S. wins 5-2 today over Belarus, Kristo didn't have any points. They play Sweeden on Wednesday.

For starters, you want your current guys to improve. I can't say if Duncan and Kozek will come back, but there will be much higher roles for VV, Frattin, and Trupp regardless. Also, with the losses of Chorney and Bina, they will need to make up for that offensive firepower from the blueline, meaning that Marto and LaPoint will have much higher roles. As for the freshmen, Gregoire and Toews will have the easiest adjustment. From what I understand, Cichy is probably going to go through some ups and downs because he has some weaknesses in his game.

When our coaches are recruiting players, they look for things beyond just ability, that being work ethic and loyalty. Our hockey players do many good things around the community that doesn't always get publicized. People need to look at the fact that these are college kids. I used to live in a fraternity and we partied as hard as anyone, but we also did many community service events and that type of stuff doesn't always get aknowledged. I don't think this is any different, these are college kids and they are going to go out and party and have fun and anyone that doesn't think so is being delusional.

Kristo with a goal in today's 7-2 win. They play Belarus tommorow.
-
Tyler Lapic from New Prague committed to Wisconsin, who offered him a substantial scholarship, we did show an interest in him.
-
It's a respectable move. New Jersey and Frazee himself understand that he is better off playing in the minors than sitting the bench at Minnesota.
-
From very reliable sources, Oshie, Chorney, and Finley are all gone. Duncan is a question mark.
-
Last year I had upper bowl tickets in St. Louis and I sat lower bowl for all three games. This arena seats even more people and there might be even less there, so even if you get upper bowl you could probably sit lower bowl.
-
Nick Mattson had zero assists in the 6-2 loss to St. Louis today which ends their playoff run. Congrats to David Toews (even though he didn't play due to injury) on winning the national 18U championship today. Brett Hextall and the Vees are up 2-0 in their series which resumes on Tuesday. Andrew MacWilliam and the Camrose Kodiaks took a 1-0 lead in their series and they are playing game 2 right now.
-
Mattson with zero points in a 7-2 loss to St. Louis, they play today in a must win. Danny Kristo and the NTDP 18U team will be playing in the IIHF World 18U Championships starting next Sunday. The team has already departed for the tournament. Also, it's unfortunate that David Toews will not be playing for Team Canada. Here is the preliminary schedule, April 13 -- vs. Switzerland April 14 -- vs. Belarus April 16 -- vs. Sweden April 18 -- vs. Finland The USHL Clark Cup playoffs start this week, four of our recruits will be playing, here is the schedule, http://www.ushl.com/news/story.cfm?id=1150

Forgot to mention, the NAHL playoffs started this weekend with Nick Mattson and the NTDP 17U team playing St. Louis. They suffered a 4-2 loss last night and Mattson had zero points, they play again at 7 tonight in the best of 5 series.
