  1. Clarke was in discussions with Lewiston (the team he currently plays for in the Q) before he committed to UND. He then commits to UND, the Fargo Force draft him, and that weekend he was supposed to attend the Fargo Force summer camp and instead showed up at the QMJHL draft. To dramatize it, no one knew he was going to be there and right as Lewiston drafts him he comes walking out of the tunnel at the arena. It was obvious that the only reason he ever committed to UND was to use it as a positioning tool so he could be drafted by the QMJHL team that gave him and his family the best deal. Hakstol and Blais were used.
  2. The reason they cheer for Russia is because Canada is jealous of the U.S. Aside from hockey, the U.S. is better than Canada at everything, and the Canadian economy is highly revolvant around the U.S. economy. Hence the term, America 2
  3. I think it's a measurement of the types of players that have been brought in the last three years. The last real blue chip class was in 2005-06, since then the last three recruit classes have not had world junior talent. Not saying that these aren't good players, but not in the likes of Parise, Stafford, Toews, Oshie, etc.
  4. For anyone interested, you can watch Brett Bruneteau, Joe Gleason, and potential recruit Matt White as Des Moines plays in Fargo on Thursday night.
  5. I don't know anything about the kid, but as for the league, it wouldn't be anything close the USHL or BCHL.
  6. , yeah the Badgers overrecruiting has gotten a little ridiculous.
  7. Sorry, didn't put it in order when I posted but Martens centers the fourth line. Also, Walski will start one night this weekend and Eidsness the other night.
  8. On another note, BCHL foward Mark Zengerle committed to Wisconsin, this had been a player that the coaching staff was looking at and had a scheduled visit here.
  9. I also heard that he's here. I've never seen him play, but every scouting report has given good comments about him. Lets hope the coaching staff can lock him.
  10. The top two lines stay the same for tonight. Gregoire, Trupp, and Frattin are on the third line with Martens, Malone, and Toews on the fourth. Miller is back on the blue line again tonight because of Finley being out.
  11. Iceburg posted the link on GPL and it looks like the coaching staff is interested in Des Moines forward Matt White.
  12. One of my relatives was watching CC play DU last weekend and he said he wasn't that impressed with CC with the exception of Bachman. He said last weekend DU took 46 and 42 shots each night and said they controlled the puck for most of the series. If this team can create some good scoring opportunities on Bachman and shut down the first line, the results might be better than what we think.
  13. I believe Danny Mattson is a senior at AHA this year, so he's eligible to come in next year. By watching him play, I this he's ready.
  14. From what I've heard Cichy has really improved this year. It's good that he didn't come in this year and decided to develop. When he gets here next year, he will be an immediate scorer.
  15. The HS Elite League NIT is this weekend in New Hope. Both Danny Mattson and Derek Forbort will be playing on Minnesota Team Red. Here is the bracket for the tournament, http://hselite.pucksystems.com/attachments...ourneyBoard.pdf
  16. I would assume it will come to down to the Sioux and the Gophers.
  17. The Fall HS Elite League is in Fargo this weekend. I put this in prospective recruits because neither of our committed players are in Fargo this weekend. Here is the schedule, http://hselite.pucksystems.com/attachments...lite_Sched_.pdf
  18. NHL Central Scouting released their fall rankings today. Mattson is listed as an A prospect, Cichy a B, and Fink a C.
  19. Danny Kristo and Mike Cichy were named to Team USA for the World Junior A Challenge.
  20. Christian Isackson from STA (who we were recruiting) committed to the Gophers.
  21. The USHL is holding its futures draft starting at 4 today. You can follow it here, http://www.ushldraft.com/
  22. They played sloppy this weekend. With the exception of the third period today, not much effort and poor passing. It won't get easier though. Mankato was a pretty good team last year and brings back five of their six top scorers and their goaltender.
  23. I think that third line with Gregoire, Trupp, and Kozek will be the best line to start the season.
