The Sioux are ranked so much lower than Cornell that even getting swept by Cornell would lead to a boost to our RPI. UND RPI details

Gee, I hope not. I haven't been to Bisonville in years, so am just comparing to the original poster's description, but we sure try to quash personal attacks on players and their families in the forums here. I agree, that's exactly the line I like to see drawn. This board certainly contains criticism of the athletes' and coaches' performance when teams do poorly (e.g.), which -- though even that upsets some people -- is to be expected at this level. However, we try to keep it confined to public topics; if we're missing big personal attacks on players' families, please point them out! We do what we can, but really rely on all of you to help keep posting standards high.

Congrats to UMD for winning their first ever home playoff game, 20-10. UMD knocked off Chardon State setting up the GVSU matchup next weekend (GVSU beat Ashland 40-7).

Wisc comes back with a TD and 2 pt conversion in the last two minutes to push to OT. Cal Poly passes for a TD on the first play of OT, but misses the XP. Wisconsin scores a TD for the win. Final: Wisconsin 36, Cal Poly 35

As andTheHomeoftheSioux noted in the post below, a new social news/media feature has been leaking out throughout the site over the past couple weeks. A couple thoughts on it: Anyone can contribute an item they've found. If you know of something good that isn't there, just hit "submit link". Users can flag items as good or bad, and their aggregate votes will control the order in which the items are displayed. To check it out, click "News" / "Photos" / or "Videos" on the nav bar of any SiouxSports.com page. Old-timers will remember that the feed of news from other sites has been a big part of the site since its inception, and opening that up so everyone could contribute to it instead of just me has been a goal that has been underway for at least half a decade. I'll continue to scour the net for Sioux-related stuff, so it is immediately useful, but do welcome others to help out if they're interested.

WBB: 1319 Field goals attempted by Kristi Boese 2002-06 (#4 all time)

Ahh... figured it out, definitely my problem, not yours. Thanks again for posting your pics for us!

As always, thanks for the pics. Thanks also for giving the "photos" section a whirl -- I think it has the potential to be pretty neat. Though I put forth some effort to write thumbnail extraction logic that supports Gallery 2, it's having troubles with yours. I wondered if you had some sort of "referer" checking or other protection against machine-downloading of the photos in place?

It's crazy when this is literally the only non-quantitative item in the article: Women's basketball: Montana State 85, UND 78, final I love coaches who have been around long enough to be willing to say things like that. I anxiously await details of the controversy...

No kidding -- I don't remember the Wisconsin game being anywhere near this bad. It's not low resolution, it's like it's way overexposed, seriously messed up contrast.

Going into last week's football game, Josh Murray had 1364 all-purpose yards (165.5/game). source

For Nov. 12... 2004 UND Volleyball On Oct. 15, UND lost 1-3 to #19 Augustana 26-30,30-25,28-30,22-30

I was going to try to help more with the backlog, but no wonder SiouxMD is laying low, this one was hard... For Nov. 11: 13-2-2007 -- Jonathan Toews was named WCHA offensive player of the week (WCHA press release) Thanks to those who have served.

The argument that trying Landry instead of relying solely on Freund is the more likely way to get that win is an entirely different, and intriguing one.

Forgive me for making a Minnesota Vikings analogy... As a Vikings fan, I was annoyed to see Frerotte get the start. If the team isn't going to win playoff games, their remaining goal should be trying to build a future team that will. Tarvaris may not be the QB of the future, but Frerotte surely is not. Nonetheless, Frerotte is getting the play because it's the best chance of the team finishing > .500 this season, perhaps earning a playoff spot, and Coach Childress getting to keep his job for another year. As a fan who wanted to see the team rebuilding into a playoff contender, I saw it as a lost season because Frerotte is not the QB of the future and the team will have to face that music next year. Of course, I will be forced to retract all such complaints when Frerotte leads them deep into the playoffs. Back to UND -- I wonder how the goals of getting a GWFC win and finishing the season with an over .500 record counterbalance with the goal of building a team for the future. I would guess goal #1 is going to be to do everything possible to get a win and finish 6-4 instead of 5-5.

"Official stats" are often unclear for a while. Your best bet is to see what comes up on collegehockeystats at the end of the game, but even that gets revised now and then. (I can think of at least once last season).

Ends on another Fruend INT. Shouldn't have let it get to that point.

UND started from their 15. Didn't do much, had a short punt to about the 50. A few minor SUU rushes led to the 25 or so, from which Cody completed a ~25 yd TD pass to Poots for the TD. UPDATE -- Freund intercepted, returned to the SUU 43. 7:07 remains in the game. UPDATE -- UND 3 and out. SUU at the 50, 3:36 remaining in the game. UPDATE -- SUU drives for another TD, 15 yd pass. Rushed for 2 and missed. 15-14 SUU with 1:14 remaining

Bummer. A few stats (end of 3rd): Offense: UND 258, SUU 256 Passing: 156, 193 Rushing: 100, 63 Penalties: UND 0/0, SUU 5/47 Turnovers: UND 0, SUU 4 (1 fumble, 3 INT)

In 1998, UND was defending national champ in NCAA D-I Hockey. In 1998, Middlebury was defending national champ in NCAA D-III Hockey. Middlebury's average SAT score was 1330. I have no idea what UND's was. source (p.s. this is what SiouxMD gets for leaving his game to the wolves on weekends)

There used to be a "more" link, which got lost in the shuffle; I just put it back. FYI, that feed of UND blog posts actually comes from the North Dakota page of this site that I made a couple years ago to try to aggregate blogs: CollegeHockeyBlogs.com North Dakota page So far I haven't discriminated on including blogs based on my own guess at quality, on the likelihood that it would differ from others or change over time, but rather have been all-inclusive and thrown any blogs that post about the Sioux into the feed.

UND's opening men's hockey opponent, Boston University, came into the season with 1331 wins, second only to Minnesota (1568) and Michigan (1446). Knowing Minnesota, they're all almost certainly counting wins from before the NCAA existed source
