  1. you! I told Evan to score for me when he was in the box but he flat out didn't listen to me!
  2. you are completely awesome Psb. Great people like you don't come along that often and I wish that they did. I hope that when Nick is feeling better that he can get up to GF for a game.
  3. you do realize that it was the State Board of Higher Education that made the decision before to keep the nickname right? FOR the millionth time, IT WAS NOT UND WHO MADE THE DECISION. what did you people want President Kupchella to do....go to the Governor and ask him to change the board's mind. The board is the President's boss and I hate to tell you but the governor would have just laughed at President Kupchella if he had done the afore mentioned scenario. Integrity following a donated gift by a farmer would depend on the farmer....which by the way if you find a farmer that has an extra 100 million dollars lying around, tell him to spread the knowledge of how to get it. I know many farmers who would love that knowledge including two in my own family.
  4. Snider hasn't been dressing in games. As for Marto...I noticed that too and in a different game when Radke dressed for warm-ups,but didn't play. I don't have an answer for either of those.
  5. I am going to have to go with Trupper. against his hometown team again tonight
  6. HAHA, I like that idea....though Kangas gets lit up next weekend and I think Solei goes in....Frazee has lost his chance
  7. Ok, sorry this wasn't right after the forum yesterday but I will do my best to remember. Dennis Elbert was a good interview and seemed really nice. He did what Bruce Smith did and got down from the podium for the question/answer period and talked to the people. He told a lot of jokes during his beginning part and talked about his plans if he becomes president. He did say about the athletic department and the nickname that they had to be solved sooner rather than later. He talked a lot about the "ships" of UND like leadership, scholarship, etc. and things like that. I got the chance to talk to him one on one after the question/answer part and asked him about interacting with students and how he planned to make sure that no one felt like they were just a number to UND...he said that he would have lunches in a dining hall or random things like getting out among the people. I also asked him the same thing I asked Bruce Smith about student behavior more specifically at hockey games (note: I only asked this of internal candidates because they would know what I was talking about) and he said that it was a tough question to answer and something that would be key in finding an athletic director that could work with every one. He also said that it was something that should include everyone in the discussion and everyone needed to work together. He then jokingly (i think) said that maybe I could help him come up with a solution to it. He was another good candidate. My rankings of our candidates in order would be Robert Kelley, Bruce Smith with Dennis Elbert a really close third, Kathleen Long and then Phyllis Johnson. The three men were all really close and any of them would be good. Phyllis Johnson has too many things that worry me about her and neither of the women were that strong of candidates. The committee is forwarding on 3-4 names to the board so we will see what they decide on Monday I believe is when they are deciding.
  8. ok, I really liked Bruce Smith as a candidate.... He seemed to have really thought out his answers and have thought about everything. He mentioned resolving the AD situation and the nickname issue as soon as possible and helping UND in the transition. He also mentioned not making changes so much in the current administration as transitioning from one administration to another. He talked about UND as the ideal university and how to keep it that way....He had mentioned when talking about athletics, the behavior specifically of students at hockey games and I got time to talk to him about it after all the other questions were done and he talked to me about cleaning things up and working with every one to create an atmosphere that wasn't so libraryish (is this a word?). I think that he is a candidate that would work with everyone in this retrospect and help everyone agree. Overall, I liked him and Robert Kelley the best so far, but I will be at Dean Elbert's forum on Thursday and see then.
  9. headed to his meet and greet forum thing right now and will give an update when I get back.
  10. i think that they meant that he didn't throw any punches...just worded weirdly. I did read the USCHO article and was like "what the heck" Kaip woulda kicked Bruess's butt last year just like he did this year if he woulda been given a chance.
  11. for the women's team that is actually really good. You have to remember that you can't expect the same amount of people for the women's team as the mens because they don't have the same following. I agree that we need to get more people there, but 1031 is a start. Since most women's games at any college don't get the same amount as the men.
  12. good point. I am going to have to go with Duncs....gotta go with my little guy.
  13. not a whole lot, just that she would have to learn as she went along which at this point UND needs a leader that knows about athletics as GeauxSioux was saying
  14. Ok, got back just a little bit ago from the third candidate's forum thing. Dr. Phylis Johnson. Overall, I did like her but she seemed to be a bit more concerned with what the faculty and staff of UND thought about her. Not that they aren't important, but she talked about students only a little and students are a vital part of the University. That fact that she has very little academic background in that the other candidates are all deans of a college in a University. She was very nice, but had a lot of very typical politicians answers to some of the questions. It sounded a little bit like she had just asked Kupchella for his answer when it came to the nickname question. I don't believe that she is the strongest candidate nor really one that we would want for our university.
  15. they are listed on the roster for Tri City Storm not Sioux City. and Pierre is Pierre Paul so wouldn't that be PP Lamoureux?
  16. that is interesting about her athletic department comment. I didn't get to stay for the questioning part of either of the candidates so I didn't get a very good impression on either of them Kelley better than Long but I could be wrong. I didn't get a strong feeling towards either one of them, but will continue to give you my thoughts as I attend each session.
  17. there are people who aren't on facebook? j/k for right now, unless Leah put it on here than probably not at least not on facebook

  22. I think that is the only option tomorrow is the 6 bucks
  23. double thank you. i switched over to this one.
  24. ok, wanted to make sure that I wasn't being stupid or something. I vote that the boys pick it up and get at least another goal in the next period.....our boys.
