Two many men, off-sides, and icing are the calls most commonly made by the linesman. The NCAA rule book states the following for the duties of a linesman and then a ref in regards to penalties.

the linesman can't have made the call, linesmen can't call penalties.

That is what it sounds like to me, but we have played better for Goska almost all season....with the exception of last week after Landry's touchdown (what i remember).

It was Goska. Why does it seem like the offense has been horrible for Landry this season and then Goska comes in and all of the sudden they remember how to play? Or that Goska just says stand back boys, i got this?

Again from what I was told last night, neither of those two made the call at all, Poppa Shep did from the press box. But that is just what I was told.

From what I have heard, Poppa Shep was the one who made the call originally from the press box which could account for the wrong number thing...and then he reviewed it and got it right?

the usual...crowd chants, drunken behavior, people being offended by other people's behavior, etc. And Jody Hodgson said that it was something that was put in action before the Gopher series and the Athletic Department has been trying to work with students for years, so no I don't think it was in response to the Gopher series.

I believe that one of the refs in that game is named Shegos? anyone remember him? That said, I can't wait to see tonight's 3rd line, I love the thought of those three together and GO SIOUX!!!

That is what I was thinking, but then I realized that couldn't be true and I was confused. I really don't mind homer announcers for the most part....I just can't stand the ones who have a heart attack everytime certain players touch the puck.....Pierre McQuire is one of my favorite for doing this especially when the Blues play the Blackhawks. He can never decide who he loves more TJ or Jonny. I am fine with them having favorites, but do I really need to hear you have a love fest over them when I am trying to watch the game?
