  1. Alright, sorry for the double post! I found the settlement instead of linking to it though, I am going to link to the Attorney General's website on it which has everything else that you might need about the settlement. AG's Website Good Luck with your speech
  2. I don't have the exact numbers, but if you go to THIS WEBSITE. It might have some details....it is the UND nickname website from UND. I thought the Almuni Association had some things on their website, but i can't find it right now. Their website can be found here. In regards to the REA and the logos, it might be important to mention that not all of the logos have to be removed. I am attempting to find the settlement, but when i find it..I will post it. Google is not being my friend today!
  3. Read/Shown at every home sporting event as mandated by former President Kendall Baker..I don't remember the year that it was, but if you know anyone at UND or if anyone on here would like to check....it talks about it in the Presidents Room at the Memorial Union on campus. Baker's photo is on the north side of the room.
  4. Thanks for the picture, MafiaMan! I enjoyed getting it. Oh, and I like the quote on the paper that you wrote the note on!
  5. ok, thanks!
  6. haha! I think i have the stalking of him down...I like him too..always willing to talk to fans like most Sioux players.
  7. I am not sure what is up, but I have tried to sign the petition three or four times and it keeps telling me that I have already signed it....and when I searched the list, it doesn't find me! Any ideas to help?
  8. Oh Smabs! I had forgotten how young he looks...like he looks like he could fit in with some of this past season's freshman or sophomores! My favorite parts where the old lady who goes "I think Smaby is a nice name" and Smaby trying not to laugh when Konopka goes "That's a wrap from Subway!" (Sorry to ruin it for those who haven't seen it).
  9. I was on a plane to CA a couple of years ago wearing Sioux clothing and the flight attendant walks by and goes GO NORTH DAKOTA...and informs me that both she and one of the pilots were from UND. And the guy behind me was from UND. This was the ride from Minneapolis to LA!
  10. that would be true, but I tend to randomly run into people including recruits and recognize them! His friend was a little shocked that I knew who he was and that I had the audacity to talk to him let alone knew that he had had surgery.
  11. so, I was sitting in Hubert's Sports Bar and Grill in downtown Minneapolis today with Vegas_Sioux watching the Twins game that was 2 blocks away (stupid high prices) and I looked over at another table to this tall guy in a white shirt and a hat. When he turned around, I went "HEY, that guy that just stood up looks like JOE!" So, after some "investigating" I realized it was him, so I went over and asked him how he was doing, so I could update everyone on here. He said that he is doing really good in recovering from his surgery and "should be back to full everything in three to four weeks." (those were his exact words). Just thought I would share and yes, I do realize how much that makes me sound like a stalker.
  12. The building at NDSU? That was offices and classrooms and the part where it collapsed was under construction already so very little was there.
  13. there is a committee in charge of it, I actually know several of the people on the committee...the plan on the website does not look that sloppy, but I can see that we are going to have to agree to disagree. I have my opinions and you have yours.
  14. actually he helped to bring about the updating of the Education Building, a building that has needed updating since about the mid 1990s. Not to agree with MPLSBison on all fronts, but you can't say that he hasn't done anything in his terms here and he does have great ideas for the University as a whole in the long term. I do not know the whole story of what went on between him, Faison, and the SBoHE and I am not going to proclaim to do so....but from what I know of Kelley having met him and had conversations with him....I wouldn't say that he has been a horrible choice for the campus community.
  15. what is he going to do retire? Roebuck won't go anywhere until Roebuck wants to....to get rid of him would cause a conniption among the people in GF and the alumni.
  16. I would agree with you that no name would be fine for awhile, but from a marketing standpoint...it doesn't work to go with UND or University of North Dakota. The latter is too long and the former is associated with Notre Dame in too many parts of the country.
  17. nope, the regionals are elsewhere....Midwest - Green Bay, Wisc and Mich. Tech hosts, West - St. Louis and the CCHA hosts, Northeast - Manchester, NH and UNH hosts, and East - Bridgeport, Conn. and Yale and Fairfield host.
  18. this is getting to be not even remotely funny...I hope Stepan is ok.
  19. well....who wants to congratulate the 2010 national Champions? Wisco is NOT playing well at all tonight.
  20. Another monkey chiming in...we have it on here....in the words of a guy on facebook..."Die BC Die"
  21. The Governor appoints the State Board and then the Senate approves them, but I don't think he can veto them. that is what the Century Code in section 15-10-11 says. I am trying to find where it talks about the SBoHE in the ND Constitution Edit: Ok, the Constitution just says what the Century Code says. Neither of them mentions anything about who oversees the State Board, so I would guess that they are in essence, a board that runs themselves..a division of government that is not unlike another division?
  22. I asked the people over on the stltoday.com forum for ideas in their thread about the nickname....this is what Suds11 gave me.
  23. I don't think they would force us, but looking at it from a completely marketing standpoint....I think it would be beneficial to have a nickname and not just UND.....You need something short and snappy that people can remember...University of North Dakota is too long and UND makes a lot of people outside of the Midwest think of Notre Dame.
  24. My roommate and I in our lamenting over the Sioux nickname came up with a new idea....the B.A.'s (the badasses)
  25. Sorry for the double post, but I agree with this statement....Faison and Kelley came into a situation where they had no authority....Kelley could state the facts to the SBoHE, but he could not tell his bosses what to do. Both of them understand the tradition behind the nickname and tradition in general, but they also understand that you have to look at the big picture...the reality was that we could and did lose the nickname and they had to plan for all instances in addition to doing their other duties. As upset as I am about losing the nickname...I am more upset that the democratic process was not given a chance...the SR tribe more than proved that they wanted to vote...their tribal council didn't want the decision, they passed the buck along...that is the part that truly stinks...we may not have gotten to keep the nickname even if they had voted, but at least we would have known for sure.
