  1. I've never had any problems going to SCSU for games. Go.
  2. I really appreciate your posts.
  3. From games I've watched it seemed the one line that did cycle the puck was Watkins/Porter and whoever was with them. The DOT line seems skilled enough to create their chances without having to cycle, and the rest of the lines just didn't have much flow. It did look like a different Sioux team than in the past. Thanks to everyone for the recaps!
  4. I haven't read all the posts in this thread but in reading the St. Cloud write up Lasch said that Radke played it great and took away any chance to pass to either of the other forwards, so he had to shoot. I wanted to point that out because I've been a little hard on Radke this year myself, and he deserves kudos for playing a difficult situation so well.
  5. That would be Funkley. They keep the establishment open because it pays enough in taxes to they can afford to plow the roads through town during the year. Was there once long ago. Never need to go back.
  6. Thanks, Pat! Love Wed nights.
  7. I don't like the garnish in his hair.
  8. We scored 12 or 13 goals last week without Toews. I'd say stick him on the 4th line and let him earn his way up. Anyone see that Oshie's got some sort of tree growing out of the side of his head?
  9. After watching Friday's game, we didn't think Kozek deserved to stay on a top line. We thought he wasn't helping the play of the whole line, and seemed to need to get the puck in space in order to get a shot off. He wasn't creating for his linemates, and he wasn't getting open where he could receive the puck and do anything with it. We were thinking he might be better off on the PP and on a lower line where he may not be matched against the opponents better players, which might allow him more freedom. Apparently Hak had a secret microphone in our car because lo and behold here comes Saturday night, and Kozek looked better and certainly produced. I'm not saying we're geniuses. Just lucky at guessing once. Just saying that IMO he didn't have a great game on Friday, but he did rebound well on Sat. And it could be that's what TH was talking about. 1st or 3rd line, we will need Kozek to produce like it's Saturday night, every night.

Wait. I thought they just made that shxt up as they go?
  13. I'll be in the woods having deer avoid me.
  14. Yes, there can be a right way. The point's been made here many times. When you see people cheering in a certain way at a sporting event, you have to realize this is about the sports team, not about any certain culture.
  15. Maybe if you're part of the PK unit that blanks the other team on 10 tries for the weekend your case is a little stronger than if you are part of the PK unit that killed only about 50% of the opportunities (just guessing at the %, but you get my point). I don't think DPotW is necessarily an offensive award.
  16. Congratulations, Mr. Miller. Might be the M.I.P. so far this year.
  17. Kristo, Malone, and now Cichy in just a 2-3 month timeframe. To those lurking who thought that Hak's ability to recruit was lacking, I wonder if the tune is changing. Sure, Cichy might not show up. Time will tell, but that's the case with any young high profile recruit. An additional point of interest. Check out how the Sioux recruiting footprint is changing (enlarging?). Instead of just a BCHL/USHL focus, now there are kids coming from eastern prep bkds (Malone and Hextall), and a couple of kids from the US development program. Malone and Hextall are now in juniors, but came from out east, and we haven't seen those types of bkds come through the UND program very much. We haven't had many out of the USNTDP program. Good work by Hakstol and the coaches. Keep 'em coming.
  18. At this point Kristo's coming in 2009.
  19. I'd throw Trupp in with your group of front-line talent too.
  20. It was very apparent this weekend, to me anyway, that this team has a very different complexion from what we saw last year, and especially 2 years ago. We were mentioning how good Smaby would have looked hitting some Mav players. Might have made them a little less comfortable coming into the zone.
  21. What does Saigo have to do with how successul Motzko is in recruiting?
  22. jk pretty much sums it up for Friday. I was there for Saturday but most of the Sioux penalties were on the end of the ice I could not see very well as I was sitting behind the Sioux bench. So I don't really know. I will say that Finley looked legitimately shocked as his second slashing call. However, unlike Friday when Hak lit Anderson up after the 30th consecutive call (leading to a call FOR UND within about a minute) Hak didn't have much to say. So I would guess the coaches weren't too upset with the calls.
  23. You pretty much punch holes right through his argument. Nice work.
  24. If you had read through the extensive discussion on these threads, you'd see that not only does UND have the Spirit Lake Tribe's suppert (which in the NCAA situation is all they said they needed), and Spirit Lake has reaffirmed that support as recently as last spring, but reprentatives from other tribes have visited and been surprised at how respectfully UND is using the nickname. Support in the future, on an official basis, isn't out of the question. In addition, don't ignore the information provided by the Standing Rock Judicial Chair that a poll or vote of the membership showed tribal members supported UND overwhelming. So you boil things down rather simply, but they're really not that simple.
